Do you know what the part number for that vent hose is by chance, or equivalent part?

Hello Colin, do you have the specific details of the thicker O-ring you use for the Bowden cable housing to the transmission case? Thanks.
@cjensan4 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid I left the shop already. I will try to remember to get the size on monday. Its a standard o-ring

@@cjensan Not a problem, take your time. Once I finally get mine running, I will change the fluid and filter again after 1000 miles. I will install another O-ring then. Thanks!

Hi Colin, where exactly is the throttle quadrant and how to disconnect from there? Nice and timely video! Exactly where my leak is coming from. Thanks!
@cjensan3 жыл бұрын
The throttle quandrant is on the engine.

you mention you do not need to remove the pan...how is this done without taking the pan off?
@cjensan10 ай бұрын
Undo the cable at the engine side and you can lift it up enough to remove with ease.

Thanks for the reply.. does the spring on the lever not just pull the rod back in?
@cjensan10 ай бұрын
@jeremygoodmurphy it does, but the spring is very weak and the cable comes out of the end a bunch and is easy to rehook on and lift it back up

Just got a major problem with my '87 S4. My engine radiator coolant appears to be contaminated with red oil, which can only be the transmission fluid. Is there a direct connection between the the transmission cooler and the engine radiator?. I haven't checked yet, but I assume if transmission fluid gets into my engine coolant I probably have engine coolant water backflow into the transmission fluid. I had always assumed these 2 cooling systems were separate from each other, do you know if there is a place where it's possible for these fluids to mix together at the radiator?.
@cjensan3 жыл бұрын
The radiator has a cooler in the passenger side (LHD) end tank that cools the transmission fluid. You will require a new radiator. Please replace with a new CSF unit available from 928intl.com (Mark) or 928srus.com (Roger)

Colin, Where did tou get the O-ring? Thanks!
@cjensan3 жыл бұрын
It is a pretty common oring that one can pickup locally. Or you can contact 928srus or 928intl to purchase the factory unit.

Colin, Can you do this while the transmission is still in the car?
