Porsche 928 Water Pump Removal and Install

This is the latest is a series of videos of "Risky Business", our 1985 Porsche 928S winter project. With the Porsche 928's water pump located behind and driven behind the engine's timing belt system, it's a good idea to replace the pump while completing a belt service. In the video, Rudy walks you through what he and Nick did wrong while removing the old water pump and what to to do to make installing the new pump much easier than what they endured.

We've all been there! I was changing the fuel filter on a Rochester Quadrajet when I was young and stripped the threads on the carburetor - the filter housing was steel and the carb body was aluminum. Didn't realize you have to remove the hard line first which puts constant pressure on the housing. A 79 cent filter turned into a $200 new carb. There have been dozens (hundreds?) of similar incidents in my non-mechanical attempts at mechanics. :) Great vid, Rudy.
