Movement of that rear axle around the 19:50 mark, probably due to brake application, really surprised me. I had to watch it multiple time before I saw the Heim joints in the setup. Really surprising to me; I just didn't expect that much movement.

Great all around trucks ofr thier time. I now have a similar white 14 silverado. I would love to see you guys slam and powernation a 2014-15 silverado and show me all I can do with my 14. What’s funny is a stock 4.8 makes more power than the factory hp of everything but the big block 454 SS. I think a 6.0 and trans from a 2500 is the best daily driver swap for this package.

@@bepbep7418 the 305ci is 5.0L and the 6.0L is a 364ci. The 454 makes more torque below 2000rpm vs the 6.0L but it sacrifices a lot more mpg and still can’t keep the same speed.

@@technicholy1299 yep, the ease of maintenance is remarkable. Parking lot alternator replacement takes 30 minutes with an adjustable wrench and a leatherman multi tool. LS this LS that... 350, 383, 400 these small blocks can create high horsepower and not have to go with individual coils, oil pump in the front gear train, and 2 bolt mains. LS is a good motor but no need to go LS if you already have a small block 350, 383 or 400 to build.

This show builds garbage. The civic was an unfinished money dump that wouldn't be able to race anywhere competitively. The camaro was just... awful. In this case, they at least built something that looked reasonably nice, but then ruined it by half assing the final part of the build. They could have easily closed the bed in and still left the shocks visible. The inner fenders would have been trickier as low as the truck is, but they could have fixed that with sheet metal as well.

@@bradenkowal8117 Unless there is some weird street truck racing series that allows exotic suspension setups and unlimited engine development on 93 octane and DOT tires, they have no one to race against, even time trial. If a series did exist that allowed the type of mods they did, then their setup isn't high enough tier to compete against real race engines and the types of trucks people would really build for the track. Not to blog forever about it, but carpet on a race car is asking to be engulfed in flames. There is a reason racecars don't have carpet, and it isn't weight. This was just another money dump like the honda. I think the purpose of this show is to build all the junk that tailgate racers have been saying they would be driving all these years. To me, this is a slow motion crash I can't stop watching.

You should have done a few runs with the tailgate installed. You'd be surprised how much more aerodynamic a truck is with the gate up! Could also try one of those 5th-wheel louvred gates too. Might add a bit of extra downforce, though I don't know, as I have not tested it myself. Love my GM/Chev trucks! My two daily drivers are an '87 K20 with a 350, SM465 4 speed (But let's be real here, it's a 3 speed, but with an ultra low bull low gear! Plus 2 PTO ports!), Dana front and rear. Almost fully rebuilt now, other than the interior and paint. Like my old Mechanics teacher always said, no sense having a nice looking car that smokes! Also, got a 4bbl TBI unit coming from FI Tech for it! She's a good solid truck, and has gotten me out of some really shit situations. And she can haul another truck or farm tractor on the flat deck trailer, no problem! The other Chev is my '89 K-2500. Basically the same engine/trans/transfer combo as the '87. Forgot to mention the NP208 T-Case they both have Both are good trucks, and worth their weight in gold! Wouldn't trade them for the world! Shit! Sorry for the novel here, folks! Just love my trucks is all! Have a great day, everyone! o7

Depending on several factors: Sd vs Hd stock rotor thickness - sd 1" & hd 1.25", how said vehicle was lowered/components used, fender lips rolled/cut for clearance, wheel width desired, overall tire diameter, tire side profile, etc... etc... Now: Frnt: 20x8" _ 5" backspacing/4" front spacing, (20x8.5" _ 5.5 backspacing/4" frnt spacing. Rear: 20x10" _ 6" backspacing/5" frnt spacing. I prefer to avoid rubber band tires & keep weight down. On my studying, researching wheels/tires & previous wheel specs mentioned: 255/45 frnt & 295/40 rear tires. Keep in mind to measure what you desire as well since the flares add depth also. So maybe less backspacing to push combo out some. Still have to be mindful of fender edge/lip. Research til satisfied, enjoy the journey. Just some of my findings. I have a '90 std cab GMC C1500 Sierra Sle. Everyday wheels, 18x8" 5" bs/4" frnt sp(added billiet alum hub centric rings to fit perfectly balanced), stock height. 4"/6" kit yet to be installed. Only want to use 18" wheels to keep weight down & accommodate a bigger rotor size. Truly learning all I can on this one in hopes to applying knowledge on a 2dr Tahoe/blazer w/: 19s Front: (245/50, 245/45, or 255/45) Rear: 275/45 or 285/... 20s w/previous mentioned wheels/tires size)...

You don't want a huge wheel and tire and raised on a build like this. You'll basically throw all the handling out the window again.

you got to be joking! tall wheels and tires causes poor handling. This is a driver's truck. Not a Donk truck
