You always do really good work and I appreciate your methodical approach to solving issues.

Wait, those clamps are far better in holding than those screw type!!! They use a simple tool to press them on and you can fairly easily removed them apart. You can purchase a whole bunch of them in various sizes and they simply do not get lose. They are the preferred clamp for this application. Definitely the best deal, good hunt for this beauty.

Nice job! I swapped out my 848 for an 1198s fairly recently. It's been fun watching your bike refurb! And the windscreen looks good!

The old owner didn't do anything to the bike:( I like how you were able to bypass the Ducati aps to reset bike!:) Can't wait for the voltage reg. fix! Semper Fidelis

Did you still have this bike? I bought one shortly after you did and I’ve been watching your videos to help me fix mine. Thanks much appreciate! I got to reset my service light and I just spotted this video today.

Yep, I still have it! Just posted a new video on it in fact.

Thank you I ordered the odb2 tools, such a pain in the rear, I live middle of nowhere nearest dealer 5 hours away, always done my own maintenance, but that message drives me crazy. Hopefully it works and of course I will test polarity of cables before use, fired ecu would suck.

It should work fine! Good luck!

U know i love your vids… but this windscreen… 🙈😄 i know what you mean. In fact yesterday i was thinking about the same problem… but i think i will go for a „bubblier solution“. But as always: was a pleasure to watch and learn from your mechanical skills. Nice vid!!! 👍

I like the double bubble style screens too, but for this bike, those weren't much higher than stock. Oh well!

@@PracticalEnthusiast another point: a lower windscreen calmes the aggressive riding-position at a certain speed cause of the wind upon your breast… at least whatever we choose… its a typical italian love-affair, i guess… bit like the abarth superbowl-advertising: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3bFgIuJo7-isKc we are happy people, arent we?! 😎✌️

Great video! You can use iawdiag/jpdiag to read error codes and reset service timing. (Kind of similar to the melcodiag you used on the multistrada).
@PracticalEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
I tried using jpdiag initially but something about the cable I was using just didn't work.

I just put a full termignoni exhaust on mine with the DP race ecu for the exhaust. Will this obd2 tool reset the tps? Do you think the wmr air pods will be sufficient for the extra air flow, instead of using the termignoni air filter? Thank you very much! Beautiful bike!
@PracticalEnthusiast9 күн бұрын
Yes and yes. The app does TPS resets, and the MWR air pods are the best filtration option for these bikes on the market.

Do you still have your stock windscreen? I have an extra gas cap bag mount I don’t need if you want it for another bike. Also where did you source the hugger hardware. Keep up the good work.

Have you thought of setting up a external fuel filter? I've done it for my 996. For my 1098s project I'm thinking on installing the fuel filter at the location of the exup motor. I looked through the forums and couldn't find anyone that's done this so I'm still debating.
@PracticalEnthusiast Жыл бұрын
I haven't given that any thought to be honest. I don't put too many miles on this bike and I figured I probably won't have to change it again during my ownership. It's not too much trouble to access when doing the timing belts as it is.

On the “ practical” side.. just curious like with the tail light they didn’t make just the lens? On the faring bracket, was it just easier to replace it ;could not have been bent back? All the money you save by doing the work yourself certainly deserves the very very best in parts.. I’m just curious. Nice work!
@PracticalEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
It could have been bent back for sure, but a new one was only $10 :)

I have bought the ELM327 and cable. Connects up to tablet via BT ok but once connected, I cannot get to the then to select the service indicator. It’s like the “Previous” button does not work. Could it be because I am running the Race ecu?
@PracticalEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's the ECU, but instead the app being "finicky". I had to play around with it for a while to get it to work. Try turning the ignition on with the app open, and if that doesn't work, try turning the ignition off with the app open and then back on. Unfortunately I don't have a more technical and accurate approach but I do think you can get it to work. Also, go to the "Vehicle Status" screen to make sure it is reading the bike's inputs, such as the clutch lever switch and throttle position. If it isn't reading those, it won't be able to reset the service light either.

Having trouble connecting the Elm on ScanM5X app. My phone is android version 11 galaxy a21. What phone do u have? The obdlink does not need to be linked, pretty sure?
@PracticalEnthusiast2 жыл бұрын
I have a Pixel 2 on Android 11 and it worked for me. You do have to play around with it for a bit to find the ELM. Try going into the in-app settings and from the Bluetooth drop down: 1. Select "Not" 2. Close settings 3. Go back to Bluetooth settings and select "Bluetooth" That may get it to refresh and see the ELM.
