PREDIABETES TREATMENT // In today's video, we will discuss prediabetes treatment. In previous videos, I gave an overview of prediabetes and discussed insulin resistance but I wanted to dive into what we can do as nurse practitioners to prevent and reverse prediabetes and ultimately prevent type 2 diabetes. Throughout the video, I referenced some great videos and resources and I linked them below:

Welcome to Kim E. The Diabetes NP Channel!!! My name is Kim E. and I have a love and passion for prediabetes and Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. I went on a journey a while ago to build upon my knowledge of the disease and found it difficult to find concise and useful information. I realized at that moment that we, as nurse practitioners, needed a resource like this. As I began learning more about the disease and the new advances in education and management, I wanted to be apart of the solution for my fellow colleagues. If this is something that interests you, please come along with me as we grow in our knowledge of Diabetes to better serve our patients.

I just found your channel. Loving what I'm hearing so far. I follow you on IG too. I'm in practice now (almost a year). Lifestyle modifications is a challenge with my clientele. 40s and up, Caribbean (island) population. I've been sending referrals to Endo a lot. Very few actually go 🙄. I'll be using the ACE. Thanks!

I’ve found that if you find alternative foods within the culture that still allows patients to enjoy their favorite foods, you can get better results. My demographic is Hispanic primarily & showing them that they can still have foods in their culture works wonders. Progress over perfection. Thanks for tuning in!

On my glucose meter instructions it said to test post prandial 2 hours after first bite. Is that correct or is it 2 hours after you finish the meal?

Dr the problem with a lot of people won't make life style changes I adopted the keto life style and I'm doing good but really on top of that I stop really enjoying food my approach is to eat to live I think we have gotten into trouble enjoying food so much but we had help so if you don't step away from the matrix that's been planned for you we will find our selves in a big health crisis but I am glad doctor's know more about this disease more now because people are dealing with insulin resistance long before prediabetes I'm 57 now but when I was in my twenties I was having all kinds of unexplained health issues I always been heavy but I was tall with the weight but as I think about what I know now if you are over weight at any time as earlier as being a over weight child I think insulin resistance start to take affect and it's much worse on children now because most of them play video games in their free time but what save us when we were younger we played outside a lot. thanks doctor for sharing your videos I enjoy them✌️👍

is it dangerous to live with prediabetes forever? (forget about developing diabetes)

From my experience it seems you don't get to live with it forever. Either it turns in to Type 2 or you reverse it.
