Nothing ever goes as planned when you're renovating. There's a saying, the faster you go the behinder you get. Take it slow and steady, it'll be perfection when it's done. Great job Simon and hope Yennis went home to rest and feels better in the am.

Watching you up on the lift really makes me appreciate all that the original builders had to do by hand without the benefit of additional machinery we have today. They'd have had to be on ladders or hand made scaffolding, up and down and up and down with materials balanced on shoulders or carried up in some way... It's almost mind-boggling to think of!

Billy, if the work tops haven't been done yet, have you considered where you originally wanted the coffee machine to just have a round base and overlap the unit? Make a feature and fits the coffee machine without adding all the extra wiring etc. Your all doing a great job and I am sure your Grandparents are really pleased how quickly you and the team are able to help them.

I thought the same thing. It would look nice to have a half round edge jutting out to make room for the coffee machine.

You may consider a having a pay to view live web cam installed on the second floor. It could be very interesting. I say that his because of your strong moral character and that anything your camera(s) would catch would be genuinely authentic. Keep up your excellent work!

Just a word of advice for insulating the pipes, put the opening of the pipe insulation facing the inside of the room towards the drywall and tape the opening closed. If you just snap it over the pipe with the opening facing the outside wall it may still leave a gap where cold air can still reach the pipe and potentially freeze the water.
