Kabocha Squash (Japanese Pumpkin) for Balanced Mood & Hormones | Progesterone-Building Food
Japanese pumpkin, or kabocha squash, is one of my favorite foods; especially comforting during the holiday season and colder months. Eating kabocha is a natural way to balance sex hormones as it's progesterone-boosting, which is supportive to a healthy female reproductive cycle. I've found that regular consumption of baked pumpkin & its seeds not only helps to both regulate and produce healthy periods but also contributes greatly to enhanced overall mood and emotional wellbeing. I hope you'll try it & enjoy. Eat well and be well!

Hi Jennifer! Can I ask what types of meat you eat and what types you don't? Also genuine question: you live very healthily but I heard that eating too much or at all any meat can increase the chances of getting cancer. What do you think about this notion? PS. I love your apron, very festive :)
@JenniferMyers
@JenniferMyers 2 жыл бұрын
Hi. The types of meat I eat are grass-fed beef (short ribs specifically are what I enjoy), liver, heart, and seafood (sardines, salmon, mackerel, shellfish...). I also want to address your second question, because I appreciate you asking so calmly and respectfully. Conventional wisdom would advise not overdoing anything. Many things increase cancer risk; merely existing, being alive, in the modern world comes w/cancer risk. It’s my experience that the inclusion versus complete restriction of meat in my diet has been life-changing and beneficial-crucial, I would say. I restricted meat entirely for about a decade, much to the detriment of my body & mind, having it result in numerous health complications; and I will admit I was in deep denial for many years. It wasn’t until I was ready & willing (willing being the operative word) to face the truth so I could make necessary changes to my diet that my life began to improve completely and I started regaining my health. These changes don’t happen overnight. I had to be very patient with myself and trust the process, and the investment has paid off in innumerable ways (and still continues). I will never look back. Since reforming my diet, all of my health markers have improved drastically; most notably my mental health. My emotional regulation, cognition and overall clarity of mind has never been better, and I’m so grateful for these nutrients in food and what they provide for the nourishment of my brain and body. I should also make clear that while I include meat in my diet, it's not something I eat "too much of," and if anything, I probably need to eat it w/increased frequency. I treat it more like a condiment. (But, again, including it vs. NOT is what has made such a difference.) My motto in life is “know thyself.” We’re each the only one inhabiting our own body, therefore we each must make choices accordingly; and live, and let live. On my channel I’ll only ever speak to my experience, because I never want to tell anyone what to do. PS: I shall pass the compliment for the apron on to my mama. She will be delighted. Thanks

@@cevanille1104 If you have PCOS, it's possible you have insulin resistance. You can find plenty of doctors on youtube explaining this, but the best way to fix your PCOS is intermittent fasting + keto diet. I did a variation of keto, not so much fat, but I definitely removed most carbs from my diet.

It’s so satisfying and delicious! And yes, it’s the lowest carb among the winter squashes, which makes it an ideal choice for healthy complex carbohydrates, because it has very minimal impact on insulin as you said. You know your facts.

Hi Jennifer! I really trust your wisdom and appreciate your knowledge and I know that you‘re not a doctor and will tell me what to do but please tell me what you would do or any tips regarding my health concerns. I have endometriosis and hashimotos and I have felt bad and tired for quite some time now (probably for like 10 years, I’m 25 by the way). But recently I am feeling so tired that I could spend the whole day sleeping. Especially in the morning. I wake up around 12 noon and have all my online classes in the afternoon because I just can’t get up and feel so exhausted even if I sleep enough. I don’t know if it’s because of the COVID vaccine or the combination of my described diseases. I am really looking forward to your answer and stay healthy! Thank you in advance :)
