My absolute favorite part is when Tom walked in with Sybbie and repeated "To the bride and groom". Mary's face lit up like a Christmas tree. She was so happy to have her brother back. Even Carson who once said Tom would bring shame on the family was happy to see him. Carson came a long way in accepting Tom as a member of the family. Truly one of my favorite moments season 6.

1:20 Thomas really did want to be an usher for Carson. Idh why, but my favorite scene in the whole show is when Barrow fills in for Carson, and when he returns he expects Thomas to have sullied up the Butlers room, or maybe even taken something, only to find that Thomas left the room spotless, cleaner than when Carson left, with a little paper in the door with his name in beautiful, careful handwriting. Thomas always wanted Carsons approval because he respected him so much and wanted Carson to respect him as a servant and a man. And it was all shown with no dialouge. Such a perfect scene that shows how tortured Thomas really is, feeling like hell never belong bit desperately wanting to.

That little sigh by Ms. Patmore at the end of the ceremony has always touched my heart. I do hope that her and Mr. Mason will have their own ceremony if we get another film. Ms. Patmore and Mr. Molesey were my favorite 2 characters. Love seeing them both happy. Tom coming into the reception was another highlight! And I don't want to overlook the interaction between Dinker and Spratt. Wonderful actors who played so well off of each other, and never disappointed in their ability to entertain. What a great episode!

@@harringt100 I don't doubt it. Back then in those days things were done a lot differently. Back then in Europe things were done a lot differently than they are done in the US. Even these days things are done still a lot differently overseas. And Europeans for the most part have always had a longer-lasting loyalty than Americans. It is only now changing that I have noticed. And you don't just "replace" family. Tom had little Sibbie. Even if the Granthams had found someone else to run the Estate - they would have made room for Tom to co-run it. And I can tell you from personal experience, sometimes it does take a trip to the other side of the grass divider to realize that the grass over there is just not greener. And then comes the real challenge. Coming back without loosing face when admitting, ooops, I realized this is my home. Not too easy that one. So no, I don't doubt it for one NY nano-second.

I'm just going to say what everyone refuses to acknowledge, part of the reason why Tom returned isn't just because he missed the family. It's because he became accustomed to a certain lifestyle. Going back to the lower-middle class lifestyle, after living the upper class lifestyle for a few years, must've been an awkward transition for Tom. Even though Tom still had his opinions regarding the upper class, one can't deny how comfortable he became in his position once he finally ignored the judgment from his lower middle class brethren. The same can be said for Matthew. Once Matthew moved past his stubborn awkwardness regarding servants waiting on him, he became fairly comfortable with the lifestyle too

It was even funnier (and cuter) when they put the inside joke in the second film, with the hat salesman in France. Having Lady Maude Bagshaw walking in the shop and how the assistant says "you and your wife" when she's helping him pick one. Dear Imelda, now there is a woman who knows what her husband looks good wearing. Even though she was never recommended by Jim to audition.

He'd be taking advantage of the absence of the staff to stay at the house and trawl around the maids' rooms, sniffing their undergarments, drilling peep holes and unlocking doors so that he could return late at night for his perverted games, prying on those who can't hit back. He truly sickens me.
