Do you really believe the Lord speaks to him more than He does to any of us who turn to Him in faith? We don't need a prophet for this communication, we have a direct line to Jesus ourselves. In Christ we have immediate communication with God. Through him we not only know that God is spirit and must be worshipped in spirit and in truth, we also have grace thus to worship. In Christ God's grace directly flows to us with all its fresh, untainted purity and power. In Christ we have grace to enter through the rout veil to the holiest place, and to rest in the eternal light of God's near presence.

@@tdubs5128 I Do! I do believe that the Lord speaks to and through The Prophet Russell M. Nelson just as He did with all other prophets throughout the dispensations. The prophet receives revelation for the Lord's church and the world. And yes, like you said, I also believe that you can recieve revelation for yourself and for your family, directly from God.

@@ejs7721 I don't believe Mr Nelson passes the test of a prophet according to scripture. I'm glad we both agree that we can receive personal revelation but even with personal revelation it must be tested against what the Bible says. We can all be easily deceived.

After all, how many people could say that everything they have ever said, everything they have ever taught has been the truth and nothing but the truth with no falsehood at all? Since we are only human and limited in knowledge, being wrong at times is not out of the ordinary. For prophets, however, the concept of being wrong in their predictions is something that must be totally alien. The guidelines that Moses wrote leave no room for error. The most significant test of an alleged prophet of God simply involves listening to his words and looking for the results. If what he prophesies does not occur exactly as stated, then his words are not from God and he should be labeled a false prophet. In other words, all Biblical prophecy must come true, even in the smallest detail.
