One will thrive; the other will die. 40% of American "food" does not comply with the dictionary definition of food: it does not sustain life, or provide nourishment. IT MAKES AMERICANS SICK. Eating dogs is not objectively different from eating other animals. And living in a house made from dried dung does not make people sick, but more importantly (unlike an important proportion of industrial materials and food science) it does not make the planet sick. The appeal to popularity is not convincing. The worst things can easily be the most popular. That's how bad, authoritarian leaders succeed, down through history.

Please make Jon Bastiste not make words! I'm sorry, no offense towards his musical talent, but musicians are not automatically ready for screen time. This is also true of other artists like some authors or sculptors! Paul Schafer came to "Late Night with David Letterman" with a heavy ironic schtick already in place, Doc Severinson was like a sub-Mitch Miller character but he didn't have to do as much on-the-fly repartee back then, it was all about his funny suits and his name was "DOC", so that was half of his persona already! Kevin Eubanks was cringe-worthy under Leno for two decades. I just feel sorry for Fred Armisen on Seth Meyers. I'm not going to fuck with The Roots, The Roots are great. But Batiste is a liability. He's like a sample of party noises off to the side that can actually subtract from Colbert's timing. I don't hate the guy, but just kill his mic, please!

I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but…I miss reality. I miss The Washington Post being considered a reliable news source and never hearing of Breitbart News. I miss laughing at people like Alex Jones and shrugging them off as a harmless nutcases. I miss the days when reality wasn’t warped and changed within a Tweet of 140 characters or less. I always felt the day would come when I’d feel the need to protest and march. I just wasn’t sure what I’d be marching for. But now I know. I’d be marching for reality. Simply reality. We cannot let crazy conspiracy theories become facts…no matter how much some people WANT those theories to be true. We cannot shape reality. Reality shapes us. This was a great comment and I 100% agree. Im a dude and I went to the Women's March. If anyone, literally *anyone* else in the election became president (i.e. Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Clinton whoever), I wouldnt have really given a shit about any of this political stuff. But with things being as bad as they are, I felt like I couldnt just sit and watch it go up in flames so I went out and marched. #toolazyforrealshit
