Btw the video you linked is regarding her "Shotgun Wedding" Which is NOT true. They got engaged Summer of 1995. (July or so) and their son was born early due to his medical complications and taken by C section. They were already engaged for 7 months before they got married. Just because the video says "The wedding wasn't announced until 2 weeks prior. Why do they have to publicly announce any sooner? Their plans are their business and when dealing with the public whole different ball game. He was very sensitive. And he was a big believer in fate .. he really thought mayte was the one and thought they were going to be together forever and he was going to have a million kids with her. Being that he lost two kids with her , he decided maybe he was wrong and she wasn't the right one. So, everything that reminded him of them and the loss of their child, he couldn't bear the thought of their loss anymore and kept trying to keep their relationship in tact after they lost so much. When bad things kept happening in their relationship , he decided to move on and live with what was right for him. Which is reasonable after suffering like that. If you feel something keeps you down , and if it's toxic to your well being , it's wise to move on and do what's better for you .

After seeing a few interviews like these, I REALLY understand why Prince didn't do interviews at one time. It's almost like a bunch of playground kids that find out that one kid in the group has candy. Everyone else wants some and will be willing to take it with no regard to how much is left. For a private person, this is overwhelming. One-on-one interviews are one thing but to be in the middle of 2 or more can feel like being circled by vultures. It appears that Mayte handled herself well in the interviewer's cage at The Zoo. Hmm, interesting name for a show. Also, I didn't care for the gentleman's comment about 'Alabama'. If you don't know about an area, it is probably best to not speak about it. Being from Alabama, I have met people from all over the globe who have migrated to the state for various reasons and raised families. Most likely she wrote this book years ago but Prince probably put the stops on it being published. He probably could have sued her; he had people sign privacy agreements. As soon as the death was announced, the book was hot off the presses. NOW ! we see why Prince couldn't trust anybody ! Well, none of us can really. "Old Friends For Sale" comes to mind. SOOOOOO many people have made money off him and his name. If it weren't for Prince, she'd still be a "who?" along with all the others. Based off of what I viewed from her responses in this video, it sounds as if she had this weird notion in her mind that convinced her that Prince was still interested in or in love with her. So strange...anyone else get that vibe? It seems odd and scary if you think about it.

NadiaIsrael it didn't change . Prince was a puppet master . He pulled all the strings. Those strings are broke now . So she says what she really feels. Back in the day her fake smile on stage and that soft spoken voice was all stage persona . Prince wouldn't let her talk much. It was like as if she knew to go along with everything he controlled or he would get rid of her. She grew up on him . So he got rid of her.
