Been a die hard Prince fan for many, many, many yrs, & I can honestly say this is the only time I've ever seen "The Man" lipsyncing.

He lip synched on Soul Train in 1994. It's so jarring to see...

Technically, isn't the entire Sign O the Times movie lip synched? I know, not really the same, and he frowned on forced lip synch when he could have played live.
@cdub30198 күн бұрын
This is because Warner Bros would not allow him to perform live. They wanted to force him to sync and he refused, he said he would not fake it, hence his blatant gum chewing during the "performance" lol gotta respect him for that 😅

It’s amazing how when Prince starts to dance you see how stiff the other dancers are and how smooth and fluid his dancing is. He’s on the beat and they’re not at times. 😂 You had to be on your game at every step if you were going to dance with Prince.💜

Horrible song, corny and cheesy with bad grammar and a whole egocentric agenda behind it. 3 years after the song sold millions, the group USA for Africa was sued by the city because they din't report the earnings, plus the money never got to the African children. Many participated artists regretted publicly their involvement, from Bruce, Dylan to Lauper. Prince was right since the beginning, the whole thing was a flute. During the USA For Africa press conference "they" unfairly trashed Prince for denying to participate, BUT by the 90s the whole 80s "me generation" was over, We Are the World deserved what it got that night and Prince got his vengeance, he still been praised for the best f-you to the system on national television.

,I wondered how much money Africa got from this song 85-95. How much was progressed in Africa? I'm sure Quincy saw some money in his pocket. I think Michael didn't take any money. But Lynal Richie probably got paid. Prince said in 85' we have people in the USA that are hungry. Smart man to not let some make money off him.
@horrorpowerfilms94814 ай бұрын
@@saa9099 Well we will never know, BUT MJ was a brutal business man, remember he lived with Donal Trump at the Trump towers, they were really close friends, so I'm pretty sure he became richer with the USA for Africa song. Remember the group was sued by the city when they failed to report the earnings 3 years after the fact (!!!!), so yeah the whole thing was fishy since the beginning.

Just no. Michael was touring the world while Prince was still thinking he was gonna play basketball as a career. By the time Prince's first album dropped, MJ had been in the business for over 10 years. MJ took inspiration from James Brown and Fred Astaire.

Prince lip sync?? I cannot believe what I am witnessing. It’s so strange to see him this way. I would like to know what was the reason behind the fact he accepted to do it. And I assume this was the first and the last time he did something like that, meaning lip sync.
@classactsexpertiseandinspi4815Ай бұрын
How could he give such a consise proffessional speech without being out of breath after a very demanding 10 minute dance routine.?? Re. We are the World - he preferred to keep his philantropy secret not advertise it like this. He wanted to do a guitar solo for them because he never sang in a group and rarely did covers. This was a horse designed by a committee - its a wonder he showed up at all, he was right to have misgivings. The lollypop was a clever way to tell everyone Im supportive of YOUR efforts but my voice aint on this.
