Not sure why it took me so long to find your video series, but THANK YOU! Clear, precise - it all makes sense now. Much appreciate you taking the time so we don't have to fumble around in the dark. Have been using Canon Print Shop Pro but they are so slow at updating following OS releases, it's no joke! Am now confident about printing out of Lightroom. Thank you

Well Anthony, I sat through your four videos, and feeling a little tired now as it almost midnight. But I must say that I offer a heart warming thank you to you. This is for all your efforts. I have seen many of you videos, and I appreciation your open and honest comments, relative to our photography industry. Tomorrow I am going out to purchase a Spider X Elite. I have checked many of the videos relative to the manufacture and their direct competitors. I believe that this choice will now benefit me, and life is a Bitch and we always understand the problem and then resolve the issues after spending many $100.00/$1,000.00 of dollars. This hurts me, because we class this as gaining experience, but at a cost. Why dose everyone have to make the same mistake? This should be publicised, to benefit others and then cut out the middle man. This never happens, we all keep making the same mistake, which is very sad, but this is beneficial to the OEM's who are raking in the money because of the blind education. So Anthony, I thank you for your efforts Regards Larry Dugay

Having used Lightroom to print A4 borderless prints for ages I knew it all (he thinks).. Then along you come Anthony, and I learn more about the resolution box... The tutorials are great... Thanks for doing them so clearly... I am now hooked on tutorials, I will have to watch I find time to do the photography now!!! Tnx

Wow! So much to learn. You did a great job organizing and presenting. I think I'll have to watch the series several times before it sinks into my old brain. Thank you.

The video segments were okay, but could have been so much better if you had included just a smidge of additional info instead of redundant info. For example, how to prepare a print for sending to an outside lab using their profiles which is what the print to jpeg is there for folks to do just that. The other thing that I find is that you do not bother to respond to your commenters questions which would be helpful to many of us. Tony, you have much more knowledge and skill, but need to get to a point quicker. Take a look at JKost videos...I realize she is on staff at Adobe and you are doing this out of your generosity to us struggling out here, but her presentations are so spot on that I believe your and your audience would benefit.

Excellent set of videos on printing. Not sure why I just printed a darker than expected print using Epson Exhibition Fiber paper having calibrated my monitor, soft proofed as you suggested before printing. I recalibrated the monitor just to be sure and even rewatched your videos. Wish I could still have more predictability about brightness in resulting images when printing.

Anthony, you have opened my eyes and II have learned a ton on how to print on my Epson. Thanks.

In the Color Management panel any adjustment to the Print Adjustment, as you say, does not show up in the image on the main panel. However if you have the " Preview Before Printing" box checked in the Printer Properties panel when using a Canon Pixma printer adjustments do show up on the Preview immediately before you print. Great episode as usual!

This was alot of useful information since I really haven't messed with the Print module in Lightroom. It seems though, similar to others who've commented, despite watching the videos I am still left with the question of which steps I need to do if I plan to send my images to a professional printing agency.

thank you so much for all of your time and effort given in regards to printing...! As well as all your videos. I am stating to print my work and am a bit frustrated with the results. Calibrating will be my first step... Little by little gotta start someplace! Thank again dude cheers!

I downloaded the Bay Photo profiles, and used your name as a reference. I haven't found a good video on You Tube about Print to File, or using Export to send photos out to a lab. I spent an afternoon trying to figure it out. Maybe you could give it some consideration. Thanks

Anthony, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I was going through your video again and I found out what I was doing wrong, to see the PPI on the image I had to turn off the Print Resolution. Thanks again for your fast response!

Anthony I have a calibration/room light monitor too but over the years I've found that a plus 30 consistently works for me. I'd recommend that people experiment!🤗

Tony, another great series. This is my second time watching the series. It is a great refresher course, since I have not done a lot of printing in the last 3 months, Hope you and your family are well. I do have a question regarding taking photos with glasses. I recently watched a video where they used the diopter setting so his eyepiece is in focus without glasses. I have always used my glasses to look through the viewfinder with Hoodman eyepiece. What is your suggestion?

Great tutorial as usual Anthony. I send my images out for printing. I do like to create borders. For example, an 11" x 14" size with a border so the actual photo itself is around 8" x 10". Is there a way of creating a border without going to the 'print' section so I can export in JPEG in the usual way via the library? As you state, you don't know anyone who prints to JPEG, but this may be one of the reasons why someone like me would do it! Thanks again.

Your videos are extremely well done and very helpful for someone with limited experience with the mysteries of photo printing. You don't mention printer calibration. Do you find that it's not needed as long as you use the correct ICC profile for the paper you are using?

Hi Anthony, loving this series. Under Colour Management there's a warning saying to turn off colour management in the print dialogue box if we've chosen an ICC profile. Is that something else we need to do or can it be ignored? My black and white prints have a blue cast to them. My monitor is calibrated and the same prints don't come back with a cast from the printers. Any advice would be appreciated!

Learning so much from your very informative video series. When sending files to a lab for printing, do you have a rule of thumb on how much to sharpen and brighten up the image? Should the extra sharpening and brightness be done in the print module or Develop? Thank you so much Anthony
@nataliagrigoryeva66159 жыл бұрын
Anthony, great video! But I have not got how I should proceed if I want to print not by myself, but send photos to printing company. So I apply ICC , which this compay hopefully provides. And do I do sharpening? Should I send it through export to tiff or jpg? Or should I print it to jpg?
@nataliagrigoryeva66159 жыл бұрын
Thank you for video! I found a way to check if LR or printer manages do colour management (just to make sure you've disabled printer color management). If you check a box in: LR- Print-Page-Page option -page info - it will show under the image PROFILE: . And if printer is doing color management it will be (managed by printer). If not printer managing color management it will be some other name.

I have the dimension box ticked under Guides. My printer is a Canon Pixma Pro -10S - I have the dimensions but not the pixel count, Is this because it is a Canon printer or am I missing something. Any guidance gracefully received. Thanking you for great tutorials.

This series is so helpful. Thank you! I do have one question though, concerning soft proofing and printing. Soft proofing is only a visual representation of the finished print, depending on the printer/paper combination, right? The proof copy that can be made during soft proofing shouldn't be used to print from. Is that correct?

Have had a lot of trouble with print orientation and rotation issues. If you f do a follow up video it would be great if you'd go into greater detail and finish by actually making a print. Lightroom is rather confusing with multiple option boxes. I usually just go back to Photoshop and print there because I know I won't have surprises.

I do not have a photo-quality printer any more. If needing a print, I let a professional do it... professional being a rather dubious term in any day and age. You obviously have some level of relationship with Bay Photo. There are others. Do you use others and how do you send your images to them... as in, do you just send them your prophoto gamut pic and expect the printer to know not just better, but the best?
