My tips for very slow riders (ie, it took me 9 hours): - It's going to hurt. Just get comfortable with the pain. "Embrace the suck." There's no avoiding it. -"Don't think of it as a slow ride, think of it as a fast buffet". Have your nutrition dialed in. Tortillas make me barf on the bike. Pizza and caffienated chocolate milk are freaking awesome. Figure out what works for you and what doesn't. - You need more than just bike food ie clif bars and shot blox. If that's all you eat you're going to barf. Real food is where it's at. - Be putting something in your mouth every few minutes, whether that be fluid or food or gels or whatever. - Take breaks. Every hour, or every circuit, get off and stretch and pee and get more ice/water/food/whatever. - You will probably cry. It's ok. Go ahead and cry. - Have some good entertainment going. For me it was banging tunes. For you it may be something different. Whatever works. - If you need to get off for more than a few minutes, that's fine! This ain't a race. Just do whatever you need to to get through the ride. Long breaks are fine...just make sure you get back on the bike afterwards. - This ride was harder than the several 100+ mile rides I've done outdoors. It was as hard as the Knight of Sufferlandria quest. It kicked my ass. I'm so proud I did it. And if I, an overweight middle aged woman, can inch my way through the route, you can too! Good luck!

Very nice video and channel! I dread getting the PRL full route badge as I have never ridden more than 133km at once on Zwift. I always wondered how to take breaks on long rides without your character stopping... never even thought about getting off the bike and running to the bathroom on the descent, great tip!

Congratulations on this milestone! I watched 3 movies when I did it, and I'm planning on doing it again soon, so I'll see about something to binge watch to distract me.

Great tips! Im planning on doing this before the bike season outside starts at least for me. That would be around march / april sometime. Question: Would u recommend changing bike shorts or even take showers in some breaks u have that u add in, more to the downhill one?
@EmileMint Жыл бұрын
I didn’t shower but I changed shorts Galway through and re-applied chamois cream. Makes a big difference in my opinion :)

Why not ride it on a workout? Extra xp and utilization of ERG mode
@EmileMint Жыл бұрын
That's a good point! Not a fan of erg mode for longer rides, especially with the hill - I feel it takes away from the realism a bit. The extra XP would've helped though :)

Will help staying in your “zone 2” as well, your endurance zone wouldn’t it
@Cwiet3 ай бұрын
But with ERG you are not in the position to take these little breaks as you must be pedaling non stop. It would be more tiresome for legs than doing it in a sim mode.
