My sister in law is a rabid feminist and very much pro-choice. She was going off one day on how it’s not killing a baby, it’s a bunch of cells. I reminded her of the two miscarriages she had over 20 years ago, and how distraught she was for “losing her baby”. Her head looked like it was about to explode as she tried to explain the difference between a miscarriage and an abortion. My response was “if anything, a miscarriage could be seen as a positive thing since the body rejected the fetus because there was something wrong, while an abortion is the termination of a healthy fetus”. It’s either a baby or it isn’t. It’s not a baby if you wanted it and a bunch of cells if you don’t.

I’ve rewatched this debate a few times and something just hit me. This particular clip of it makes Brenda sound like she DIDN’T want to abort her child but felt that it was the only option available to her due to financial hardship she faced at the time? Does anyone know if she’s talked more about the circumstances of her abortion? I obviously don’t think poverty is an excuse to commit feticide. But that seems to be what she’s trying to justify as being “compassionate.” I don’t want to live in a world where we legalize “mercy killing.”

@@anne.ominous I know. I just mean that Lila has been debating this for years now. It's all probably autopilot for her. She's clearly the better debater here. A while ago, I saw an old video of her debating I think the president of Naral, and she wasn't very convincing (I think it was like at least 10 years old too). All I remember from Lila was saying "birth control is bad for women because it has side effects." With that logic we should just get rid of all medicine, since they all have side effects. Brenda, I am not sure if she has ever debated the pro choice side. She didn't seem well versed in it. I think she should have practiced more because it seemed like she was winging it. There's a pro life vs pro choice debate between two students from Notre Dame on KZbin, and the one defending the pro choice stance did a pretty good job I thought, much better than Brenda did here, though I admit I haven't seen either debate in over a year so I don't remember all the specifics.

I'm not saying an individual cannot be executed in a way that is swift and relatively painless, though the reason for the execution is what should be the main factor. As far as the state executing a convicted particularly heinous violent criminal, it is done because of the particularly heinous nature of their chosen crimes. As far as abortion goes, it's the intentional killing and disposing of innocent little boys and girls merely to neglect having to care for them. Regardless of how the most innocent and precious little boys and girls are killed, they are still being killed. And as far as reasons are concerned, 'just because I want to' doesn't even begin to meet any kind of standard for justification to take someone's life. The wanton taking of innocent lives is always wrong, regardless of who the victim is. Its absolutely horrific that this debate even exists, though in the realm of moral debates, this one is about a valid as debating if slavery or the Holocaust was morally right.

There are adoption agencies that connect mothers with couples who want to adopt. Many crisis pregnancy centers refer their clients there when the mother chooses life for her baby but can't feasible raise him or her. Call a prolife crisis center and get some info. I'm sure they can give you and 😊your friends the info. They are out there! There is one....I think it is called something like the Bethany center...or Bethany adoption.....I don't remember the exact name, but I'm sure you could find it with a search.

So happy to have found this, even if late. I had to stop following Brenda after witnessing her repeatedly tell Christians that being involved in current liberal & progressive movements isn't antithetical to the word of God. I fell for it at first and had a very open heart to her views. I had a nagging feeling that I was being misled and deceived. I stayed subscribed for quite some time because I genuinely wanted to understand how her views on LGBT, abortion, etc fit with biblical principles and Christ's teachings. I couldn't stick around because although I waited, I never saw her not be a raging hypocrite while claiming she follows Christ. Her glowing friendships with multiple anti-Christian youtubers is also quite telling. When it comes to Christian youtubers, I'm relieved to have found Lila who is articulate in her arguments which is often a struggle for pro-lifers including myself. I adore that Lila never compromises her faith in Christ.

Most abortions are the most popular form of birth control. Pregnancy is a possibility of sexual intercourse. Abstinence, birth control pill, condom, IUD etc. are choices. You can also tie the tubes. In the case of rape the medical procedures can prevent an egg from being fertilized . The baby has rights and if there is a physical problem ie ectopic pregnancy, faulty womb, or fetal viability The baby will pass naturally without pain

Brenda is a brilliant woman. I will never understand how abortion ever became legal. In cases of a woman being raped I believe they should be able to get the procedure done. I like how the pro abortion people always say that gun violence is the leading cause of death for children. But that's only because they have an extremely arbitrary definition of what a child is. Most people aren't truly prolife.the only ones that are in my life that I know of are my dad and grandma.aside from them & myself, the rest I know that will say they are prolife will say they are prolife BUUUUT.& once they say but they expose themselves.
