ok, I have checked out all the guys who are making videos on the internet...and just think about that for a second...out of 6 billion people on planet earth...this guy is the most thorough, his video is the cleanest and he has the best attitude. It's like he is providing a complete methodical course from each chapter of a text book. Pofrobbob is the hardest working math man on the web next to Sal at Khan academy...Look, I said all that to say this, your service to the world is awesome and I will try to contribute at some point. Sincere thanks, and keep rocking your videos. Matt from Sacramento Ca.

Hi. I am a Portuguese speaker with not 100% of English proficiency. Your videos have been very clear and useful as I am taking an online course of Biostatistics in English. Problems that ask you to evaluate without the use of a calculator are usually rewritten in exponential form. You then manipulate them to have equal bases and set the exponents equal to each other and solve if needed. Your second examples works through log b25(5) = 0.5 equals 25^0.5 = 5 to 25^(1/2) = 5 to sqrt(25) = 5 or ((5^2)^(1/2)) to 5 = 5

@ertyuloiuytr When you Ln a number your answer is an exponent of e=2.718, instead of an exponent of 10 like with common Logs. So...Ln(100)=4.605 in exponential form is e^(4.605)=100. There is round off error.

@Silver600 Check out my video "Log Transformations with ti-84" starting at 8:04. This should help. You make both sides of the equation and exponent of what ever the base of your log function has.

I'm in Algebra 2 G/T Common Core, so we have to learn everything our selves, on top of that the curriculum is harder because it's well, G/T. I as a human being absolutely suck at math, I'm hoping to learn a lot from these videos, and thank you very much for this!
