What a great video.. I just ordered a Gen 8 and have pretty much the exact same hop ups coming from Redcat.. thank you so much as I'll be studying this video!

That aluminum skid plate is the only hop up I would suggest Gen8 owners to avoid, unless they only go trailing, and zero crawling. Otherwise, the aluminum will increase resistance as it goes over rocks. Weight in the skid would be fine, but plastic slides way better. Redcat also just released a new skid with no hump.

i’ve used my redcat to crawl.. lol it ain’t bad for it honestly. i’ve put on some super swamper boggers and there hasn’t been much i ain’t gone over

If the portals help with torque twist I’d hate to see this truck without them. My truck actually hops off the ground on a hard takeoff or if I try to throttle out of something

The ESC runs in 2S or 3S LIPO according to the manual.

The warning tag that was attached to the speed control said 7.2v NiMH and 7.4v LiPo only.

The manual of the ESC comes with a notice that with 12T and more you should run 2S and with 30T and more you can run 3S.

3S, but with a higher turn motor. With less than 30T it is rated for 2S.
