@@MR80YTI think so too, as this game encouraged you to follow a more sportsmanlike type of driver instead of aggressive. Fun fact : NFS Shift 1 and NFS Shift 2 unleashed was created from the devs of Slightly mad studios, creators of Project Cars. So maybe that's why is so similar to shift 1-2.

​@@elp7241 Yeah project cars 2 too, but Project Cars 3 is a lot similar to NFS shift 2 as in it's core is both simulation and arcade, whereas Project Cars 1 and 2 emphasize more in simulation than the arcadey feeling, and it requires practice and a wheel to drive properly.

I personally have no problems with the game itself only with its name, its just one big middle finger to project cars fans. Many dont know this, but Project C.A.R.S actually means - community assisted racing simulator. The original title was as name suggest, community assisted, meaning that it was crowdfunded and community had a say in simulator development. When pcars1 launched they never fixed project cars 1, instead they released second game which was better but it still had many bugs and devs didnt listen to its community, now what we see? Devs made 180° with this franchise and made it simcade without listening to its community at all, community that crowdfunded and started this whole thing. Why not name this game differently? because its easy advertisement. I didnt fund the original game, only bought pcars 2 on a sale but knowing this it still leaves bad taste in my mouth...

its a simcade since the start, on PC 2 you never lose grip with rear motor rear traction also you can recover from a drift with full throttle thats impossible in real life, it was a simcade since its start sold as simulator, this game was like GT4

I founded the first one. Still have no big problem with this. I get what i paid for. Was worth hours of playtime. Still PC2 was a little bit lame. For most of the time i was just racing some tracks against myself. The career was awefull and the racing was kinda lame (i dont speak for online). So i like this change if, and the keyword is if, the handling is good with a wheel. i like forza but i have no feeling in FFB with my T500RS. I will still buy it later after more reviews and maybe not full price.

@falchulk I haven't played PC3, but I have played all the good Grid games (1, 2, Autosport) and the ultra garbage Grid 2019. PC3 physics is arcadey but it already look miles better than Grid 2019 (you can hold a drift real good, unlike Grid'19), it have car upgrades progression and even race conversions (which reminds me of the GT2 days), community events, puddles in rain, etc. Grid 2019 doesn't even feel good on a controller, not to mention that the Grid series wheel controls are pretty shite with how twitchy the physics usually are. While wheel control isn't as good as the previous Project Cars games, at least it's functional in PC3 (seems to be one of the only arcade games that you can play at home decently with a wheel). Of course, this is hardly better than the OG Grid, but physics looks real fun to play on a Sunday morning and that's the thing that matters the most to me really. (not saying this is a guaranteed buy from me, will probably wait for sale).

Even Motorsport, everyone plays with a controller at Forza RC which is the biggest Forza eSports event cause its superior to a wheel in that game. I would like to see any of your WR runs in pCARS, if you did them with a controller, cause that's impressive

@@CAAStudios Thats ridiculous. I've seen some people compete at the top level on GT Sport using a controller against players on a wheel, but I never thought this was possible in pCARS. GT games are usually much more optimized for joystick than fully fledged sims. I don't know why anyone would want to use a joystick over a wheel in a racing sim though

I was playing the latest NFS Hot Pursuit yesterday and thinking the same thing about flashback! There's so many long races that you have to repeat until you get it and when you're doing a perfect run you make a little mistake in the last lap and everything is gone and you lost the race and will have to do anything from the beginning again, is super annoying

I would say that decision to make Project Cars 3 a simcade isn't too bad on the surface. It's just the matter that it used a less appropriate title (propping it to be a sequel to a sim series) and the questionable decisions made (removal of pit stops and damage being the bigger concerns). It'll stay on my wishlist, but that would come after other games.

Does this have a qualifying option? My one complaint with Simcade games like Gran Turismo and Forza is the fact that literally every race is a “last to first” challenge. I’m bored of that kind of gameplay because it means that the AI has to be slower than you in order for you to win

Actually, back in Gran Turismo 3 you can Qualify for 1st place position, but that feature removed in GT4 onward and it was a big shame that we cant use that as a practice to measure how strong our Opponent is. Back in GT1, AI is much harder than other series because they are allowed to TUNE UP their car to the point where you still can lose to them even if you tune up to the max which is the biggest fun in that game. Try to beat R33 Skyline GTR 941HP and GTO Twin Turbo 850 HP or Supra RZ 870 HP that will kill you if you cant manage that power and handling like Drag Race car.

I loved pCARS 2 and while this is a very sudden change in direction, I’m still excited to play this game with a controller and my wheel. I can see why it’s gotten hate tho, it is a pretty big change gameplay and presentation wise compared to the other titles, and maybe giving it a different name would have been more reasonable, still, can’t help but be excited about this game.

It doesn't help that they still claim that it's a sim. The cars don't handle in completely unrealistic ways, but for example if you brake too late you can still save your car by cornering hard. In real life that wouldn't save you, that would make the situation worse!

Exactly what I thought about Grid, liked the game and handling, but the career was soooooo boring, I didn't even finish it.. it was just race after race, nothing new. Tried multiplayer in the first few days but it was horrible. However, the career in this game looks very good with lots of stuff to do. This game seems to be great with a controller. I agree, the graphics are average, but gameplay does seem very good. Hmmm....do I buy or not?

@@Bolkiebasher well the career really isnt all that interesting, there are little tasks for each race and some don't work properly (e.g. drafting then over take but the game doesn't register you drafting etc). It's really not that interesting and I dont want to grind all the way just so I can do race conversions on cars. Also the graphics look much worse when you're playing. Turning off the hud makes it better and more immersive but every 5 seconds a different graphical glitch/lag/pop up distracts you and it really ruins the immersion But the driving isnt that bad if you like sim-cade and not full on sim racers, so I'd say get it when its on sale (for very cheap) or get it for free if you can.

I definitely still has simulation feeling on the physics, according to some sim racers like Jimmy broadbent and simracing604. However, the physics has been altered a little bit probably to make playing with controller much easier.

Cause i have a windows 10 laptop that i wanted to possibly run MW 2005 and Carbon on, and also wanted to tell you, today i was playing the Xbox 360 version of MW and in 2 separate pursuits the cops used a taxi and an 18 wheeler in a roadblock and in the other one, they used an 18 wheeler, a taxi, a police rhino, and a helicopter 🚁!!! In the roadblock!! The 18 wheelers trailer was on the guard rail on the rosewood highway too

If you only like pure sim this game is not what you want. Even with a wheel. No pitstops, no good setup tweaking, simple handling, weird car classes (who puts GT3, GT4 and NASCAR into a single class?). PC3 is definetly not for me.

This is not Project Cars. They should have created a new franchise and left Project Cars as the sim racing game. A lot of people are going to be salty about this, and it is likely that this game wont sell well enough to justify a sequel, even if it is a fun game, normies still find it too complicated, and sim racers think it's too arcade-like. However, this looks like the perfect base for a Project Gotham Racing like game. The physics look perfect for that.

I trully hate Slighly Mad Studios. I given them chance upon this game, and hoped they fixed some of Shift/Project Cars issues - AI is still same that was in Shift 1! How many years they need to fix it!? Progression/economy is totall mess. No money for race, but for next XP level? With 100lvl i get no money? Absurd challenges on some races THAT NOT WORK (stay in oponent trail for X seconds then bypass him) - it not work on many races, or hit 273km/h on on track with no straight at GT B (max is 237, so they messed challenge conditions). Even tesks that appear after race - you can see 2 circles with some tasks - lot of them are filling (you have completed them) and not giving ANY MONEY OR XP for completing it, just extending the requirements and emptying progress circle. Worst thing is, they are not gonna fix this - as they sit their asses on discord instead Steam Discussions and dont read/reply to people reporting issues. Instead of patches - DLC's. They are small studio? Who care! They sell AAA price game with AAA DLC's politics and not fixing it. They dont even care for customers. AI is total nigtmare - i can play on legendary difficulty most of time, but some tracks require..... very easy dificulty, as they lack of patchfinding anything between legendary - very easy. Most of that you discover after 2 hours of playing = no refound. SMS are thiefs, not gonna buy any game with their sign again.

This isn't the Project CARS I'd have liked to see. The all-soul-conquering soundtrack has been replaced with some Forza Horizon music, the realistic driving experience (many people say the two previous games were simcades but I quite like driving in them.) is no longer there, this is not some sort of work related to motorsports. I don't know guys, it's been days since this game became a thing but I still can't get over the fact that it exists.

you obviously dont have as much control over the car with a controller as with a wheel. the ai is probably trail-braking and accelerating properly in legendary difficulty. but i think the ai difficulty also depends on the event class
