I went to look at a 2006 Mazda 3 2.3l today with 93k miles on it rebuilt title for $3700. All I did was got on my hands & knees, looked underneath & I saw so much rust that I could have shaken a piece of the car & chunks would have came off. He dropped it 1k as I walked away still said No way.

I wonder sometimes if the CAFE standards were realistic, if the manufacturers would be in this position. Many have used loopholes and simply built larger vehicles. Trucks come to mind. It’s difficult to find a good sedan anymore. I’ve been a VAG guy for 20+ years. VW has one sedan. For an older man, the Jetta is not satisfactory. It’s a fine car for my children. VW switched to concentrating on SUV’s. I’m not interested in a SUV, ID Buzz, ID 4, or the ID 7. I’m keeping my 19’ Arteon, that I paid off in 22’, and looking into a MX5 RF. Simple, simple and even simpler. The price is market appropriate, but high for what it actually boils down to. I’ll have two completely different driving cars. The GTI, R and GLI are to boy racer for me now. I’ve already had them, tuned them and modified them. I’m the customer, with money, that manufactures have forgotten about. ✌️

@@ECPP - Lots of car thefts WITH KEYS LEFT IN THE CAR. Insurance companies should be allowed to refuse coverage if the keys are left in the car. This happened around me every week for several YEARS. Only now are thefts dropping, and its mostly due to license plate readers along the roads, detecting non-local cars so that police can start looking around. The locals STILL leave keys in their cars. That's what wealthy privilege does. And it leads to crime and blown up insurance rates for theft. I wonder how many owners are HOPING for a theft, so then lease their next fancy car instead.

What most people really need are economical affordable sedan CARS during this age of cost of living crisis. Meanwhile American car makers are obsessed with selling high profit pickups and SUVs and sales are dropping, and all the while the Japanese are making excellent entry level sedan CARS and are selling them in record numbers. In the past we could always depend on our Fords and Chevys and sadly that isn't true anymore, if the high prices don't get you, the unreliability issues will. There's a very good reason why the Toyota Camry is the best selling sedan car in America.

I don't mean to advertise but I strongly recommend Berryman B-12 Chemtool Fuel Injector Cleaner it will make your car run like new I put it in my 05 Mazda 6 & noticed instant torque/coasting improvement. Before I got it I researched that it works better than Sea Foam.

I was car shopping for the last year and a half and finally ended up buying a CPO 2021 Lexus IS350 F-Sport with 27k miles for $38k and couldn’t be happier with it! It came with zero extra options except for a sunroof and a cargo net in the trunk lol, keep it simple! This choice was made in part due to your advice in your videos. I just wanted to say thank you, Mark. I plan to drive it for the next 10 to 15 years or more likely, until the fat lady sings!

correction the 300 was a Chrysler not a dodge and it got its name when it was the first Chrysler production car to have 300 HP in 1955 while for ex a Cadillac series 62 had 270 HP and 346 LB Ft torque

I actually personally do t see that other than on select poor sellers. It may be on certain overpriced underselling vehicles like the Hornet, Fiat500e, Jeep Compass etc. I would love to see heavy discounts on everything but I am a little skeptical

If you want to understand the EU's struggling economy, look at the cost of energy there versus North America, or China, and also look at energy production, especially on a per-capita basis. You can look at it on a state-by-state basis in the US as well. Cost of electricity in EU countries like France or Germany is 50%+ higher than US, Canada, Mexico, China. Cost for a gallon of gasoline is off the charts by comparison. Countries like Canada are big net exporters of energy... US is about break even. EU imports huge quantities of energy because it only produces about as much energy as Canada, but has 10x the population. Then look at difference in work and overall lifestyle between Japan and France with metrics like hours worked per week.

You are right Kevin, it varies from country to county but there are many reasons for increased costs. Sad part is in places like Canada even with exports, the average person has been squeezed by new taxes and inclusions and there are less dollars to go around combined with the value of the dollar dooming due to some bad policies which means buying power of goods outside of country like euro cars has skyrocketed
