I remember when I first got a EWG on my 2014. Couldn’t help going WOT all the time! Killer sound 🤙 Being in California, I eventually had a shop recirculate the EWG dump pipe back into the downpipe to minimize noise.

Sounds ridiculously MEAN! LOVE IT! Yeah I could see how that could get a bit over the top on a daily. I really wanted to check out the Wicked Big Meet this year, but my clutch is cooked on my 15' STi. Well... it still holds when I'm nice to it, but that would be one HELLUVA roll of the dice. It's going in on the 13th to get a new ACT XACT Streetlite Flywheel paired up with the SB10-HDSS ACT Clutch Kit. If I still had access to a lift, or was maybe 10 years younger and was up to laying on my back all day with jack stands, I'd do it my damn self. Alas... age is quite the mean mistress, lol.

So there for I wouldn’t need an up pipe with dump tube correct? I could just run killer b headers with v band up pipe combo? Or does the turbo just come with the ewg and I need to get an up pipe that I mount the ewg to?

You’ll need an uppipe with an external gate mount. If the internal is welded shut, you’ll need to relocate the wastegate, which is the point of having the internal welded shut.

Thank you! I am not experienced with the FA motor, so I can't point you in he right direction. Although it seems like most FA guys do a good catted DP, tune, and flex kit and you can make some fun, easy power.

Drone depends on your exhaust setup. I have a bit, but that’s to be expected with the setup I am running.

Tuning. You can have the valve just open up at a certain psi or have it open/close (flutter). We opted to have it open fully as it’s less wear on the components.

What’s your power goals? The tmic has been great and have had no issues. Can handle my power level with no problems. Personally, I’d only go to fmic if I was pushing over the 450-500 mark.

What year is your STI? If it is a 19+ how did you protune this after the Cobb green speed update, I have a 2020 STI with a Catted downpipe that I want to throw an intake and EWG on but I don’t think I’ll be able to tune it since my protune has P0420 disabled and now protuners cannot do that with the accessport.

Mine only opens around 15 psi so it’s pretty easy to keep it closed under normal driving.
