Been playing my Super Slim PS3 ever since I bought the console during PS4's first launch. And since then I have not regreted that decision.

While most modern games focus too much on graphics and being more like movies,then games. My favourite PS3 game franchise has to be the InFamous series.

I didn't have a PS3 back when it came out, it wasn't until 2017 that I decided to check it out and I decided to try out the George Foreman grill model, of course I bought it used, took it home and a couple of days later it started to fail on me, I think it wasn't reading discs and the lid itself was malfunctioning, anyway I decided to go back to the store where I bought it and luckily they gave me the option to exchange it for another PS3 console, it was then that the guy suggested to get a slim version, I did and still have it to this day, just a few months ago I cleaned it and reapplied thermal paste and also put in a SSD in it, working just fine. to be honest I need to play with my PS3 more! great video!

Thats cool they let you swap it out for a slim model. The original slim is probably my favorite of the bunch but the George Foreman grill is pretty nice too 😂 What are your favorite ps3 games?

I have my orignal PS3 from 2008 I just cleaned it and replaced the thermal paste the controllers are well just the battery probably needs replacing soon. Just started to collect for it. Unfortunately I have been having bad luck with the 360 consoles not working for me so I decided to just collect for the PS3 since there’s a lot games out there to get. I’m having a great time with it and I think it still holds up somewhat today. It plays blue ray discs, it was really ahead of its time.

⁠@@FranchisePlayyerme too, good thing is I’m going to replace my hardrive for a 500 gb. Could’ve bought a 1tb but I wanted to save some money. The original Hardrive has 80gb which isn’t a lot, it was a lot back in 2008 but not 15 years later. Hopefully with the swap it can last longer and I can finally play GTA 5

By my account we got about 3 more years left before the 20 year nostalgia spike shows up. Meaning if anyone wants to get any game at a still affordable price, now would be the time to go out and find what you can. Even the rarest of games in the west have yet to cross the 100 dollar resale not unless you count limted editon/ce. Puppepter. Splatter house and 3d dot games and godzilla are probably the most expensive and should be the ones that you would focus on.

Totally agree, ps3 prices will definitely start to rise more around that 20 year mark. Whenever the ps3 store officially shuts down that should make prices climb too. Thanks for watching!

I recommend Red Dead Redemption Game of the Year Edition, which includes the main game, Undead Nightmare AND exclusive to this version Hardcore mode, which makes the game much more like a survival experience where money is tight and crime might be actually tempting :). In the normal game I could become rich playing like a saint. The worst part is that it turns off auto-aim, and gunplay is not super-comfortable there. Still, it's a thrilling experience :)

Another sick video as always man. The PS3 is probably my favorite console of all time. I hope the PSN store lasts at least another few more years. Lately, I’ve been playing Battlefield 1943 and COD World at war. It’s sick to see that people are STILL playing those amazing games today. I’ll take those older iterations over the current ones any day of the week. In case you cared or not, BF 1943’s servers are shutting down forever on December 8th! Cheers man.

Appreciate that bro! Battlefield 1943 was awesome I loved that game back in the day. I would be down to play some zombies on world at war or black ops together sometime. I had no idea about the 1943 servers that sucks

I didn’t own a ps3 when I was little. I knew someone who had one and other family members had one as well. I was Nintendo kid lol. Recently thought about buying a ps3 since I just bought a psvita like a year or two ago.

PS3 has some of my favourite remasters from PS2 :D 4 original God of War games from PS2 and PSP (GoW 3 got a remaster on PS4), and my beloved ICO & Shadow of the Colossus remasters. Yes, SotC got a remake on PS4 and it's beautiful, but ICO is still stuck there and I LOVE it. The two original inFamous games are stil stuck on PS3, and I believe they deserve to be remembered and played! PS3 has my favourite Mortal Kombat in the franchise: Mortal Kombat 9! That story mode was everything I ever wanted from a fighting game campaign :) There's also probably the best Ratchet & Clank in the history of the franchise: A Crack in Time. Pure joy!

Love the PS3, I have over 30 mostly collectors editions but all 3 other types but a nice machine to play Blu-rays & DVDs and had a good relationship with both the PSP & VITA…..

I still have both my Slim PS3 consoles, a 320gb and a 500gb, the latter with the sliding top. The 500gb one can be a little finicky in reading certain discs sometimes, but the 320 one never once "ate" a disc on me. The original controllers stopped working a long time ago, so I did have to buy replacements, because even though a PS5 controller will work wirelessly on a PS3, the PS button won't.

It’s getting harder to find authentic DualShock 3 controllers now that aren’t super beat up

@@FranchisePlayyer Granted they were third-party (Voyee), but they do work fine. They just have a built-in feature where they turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity to save battery power, so if there's a long cutscene, you have to turn them back on.

I've heard good things about the retro fighter ps3 controller. Picked one up (they're pricey) and it feels pretty solid. Haven't tested it out yet but it's highly rated due to it having six axis and true Bluetooth connectivity.

I’m not the biggest fan of the ps3 controller however there is a way you can use your ps5 controller on your ps3 and gives you access to all the ps3 features on the dual sense along with Sixas control

Wow I had no idea you could use the ps5 controller that’s pretty cool. I know you can use a DualShock 4 while plugged in

You could use the PS4 controller wirelessly as well. You need to hold the PS button and the share button for a few seconds until the controller light begins flashing. Once it begins flashing, go to your Bluetooth settings and scan for the device. Boom. Been using my dualshock 4 to play ps3 games lately

@@lesterbronson2385 nah this is better then that snd doing it that way limits your options with the wing man you get all the bells and whistles your get with the regular ps3 control except yo ur using the ps5 controller I wouldn’t recommend that option

go with the slims you can mod. if you want to collect, fine, but if you don't care about that... just get the games free. sony isn't selling them. you are just paying random people who set high prices based on demand. no point in giving them money if all you want to do is play games.

I wish you would have mentioned the Resistance games. I LOVE Fall of Man & 3. Also, you can play Killzone 2 online again with PSrewired fan servers along with Resistance Fall of Man.

Online can be tough, if you go the online route eBay might be decent. If you have a local retro game store that could be a good choice too. I recommend OfferUp as you might be able to score a bundle for a decent price

If you are willing to wait at most a month you can go and buy from the CEX store and from my knowledge only Australia, the UK, Ireland, Spain, Malaysia, Portugal, Mexico, The Canaries, The Netherlands, India and Italy have a cex store but trust me they make sure the consoles are working before selling but your only issue is to compare currency from say AUS to wherever you are from.

The fat models are risky especially with the age, $30 might be worth the gamble. If I were you I would probably hold out for one of the slim models

I had the YLOD error in the 40GB fat console, I bought it in 2007 and broke in 2016/17, looking for a fix for the YLOD but its been seven years now. Might be buying a new PS3 soon, Also My question is are there any “OG” or “Rare” names?

Definitely worth picking one up, I would go with the slim or super slim. Yeah there is definitely some rare/expensive games but you can still get most of the popular games for pretty cheap
