"Pha" is the Vietnamese pronunciation for Pho. Uncle Roger is Malaysian so it is not unusual for him to use the correct pronunciation from nearby South East Asian countries. "Pho" is used by most English speaking people, if they don't know the actual Vietnamese pronunciation. Mainly because it's the same as the pho from "phone".

In the US, I haven't been able to find thinly sliced meat so I usually freeze it and then slice it by hand. The broth should be clear, and it usually takes 7+ hours to make from scratch, but there are flavor packets and powders to use as a "cheater" to make it quick, but those are only found at Asian grocery stores.
@TheLocomono92 жыл бұрын
As a chef I can confirm the freeze cut method is best if you don’t have a deli slicer
@y68g.492 жыл бұрын
In the US the thinly sliced meat can be bought from Asian super market, at the section where frozen foods are sold, by the ingredients section for hot-pot like fish tofu / cake. You can get either pork or beef.

If I had to use a common cut in America, I'd probably use skirt steak and slice by hand

Y’all are so funny! 😂 Also it’s a phenomenon. With Asian dishes. Chefs being like “just use whatever you want here.” Happens so much.

NO! You are wrong for the best Steven. You guys are at 14.2 K with me. Rachel Ray was a disaster, what she did is a disgrace to Vietnamese people. I know this because I watch chef Eddie Cương Nguyễn. He is Vietnamese and he explained exactly what she is doing wrong. You guys are wonderful and I love you very much. Also peach allow me to flatter you, your beauty is astonishing from both inside and outside.

Peach is right, there usually isn't a lot of pre-sliced meat in stores in the US. However, you can usually have the butcher freshly slice the beef to your desired thickness after you have selected your piece.

I have seen raw thinly sliced ribeye in the meat section at most grocery stores, but that might be due to being close to Pennsylvania for making cheese-steaks.
@emanymton7132 жыл бұрын
Yes you can always ask the meat department to cut *any* meats the store carries to whatever you need in the US. You aren’t limited by “ the shelf”.

I would love to see you try and make a Danish dish(yes different versions exist outside of Denmark), pork belly with potatoes and parsley sauce. The parsley sauce is a "baked" sauce where you start with butter and flour, then slowly add milk or cream and some pork stock.

I live in a smallish city in the middle of Iowa, which is in the flattest piece of nowhere the US has, the Great Plains. Even we have a really good Pho restaurant. They even deliver and add in a little pamphlet showing how to properly assemble your bowl of Pho.

Buying sliced meat is kind of, I won't call it stupid since I do it myself and I don't want to call myself stupid, however it's really easy to slice it up yourself, just freeze it and use a mandolin or similar

Rachel Ray is a celeb chef, but more importantly she is a day time chef for regular television. She's what stay at home moms and old people put on the tv when they don't have cable. The expectations for her will be quite low.

I didn't realize this before, but I saw this video again and I'm like...That Pho definitely has all the scum from the raw steak meat and that meat itself is probably so raw you'll get stomach ache from it. It is too thick to be cooked in such a short time so the bacteria or any parasites inside have a chance of surviving and reaching the stomach. Yuck! 🤢

I always love reaction I very like the passion you guy put in video and 2 time reaction in 2 language is good enough action to see or to show how passion you two give to us the viewer, but... the reaction is about first impression, the feeling, the expression, that you can only have it for the one first and last time about what you reaction or at least in my understand about word Reaction and that why i love the reaction video it's no need to make 2 video for 2 language with one first impression video and another copy for translated video just make 1 video with 1 language and make subtitles with only one honest feeling the first impression video that you can give it all your heart into it But again you don't need to listen to me, but pls just tell me what is the video that is the 1st time watching and have the 1st impression it's the eng ver. or the sub ver. ? ps. sry my eng is not good. i hope you guy can understand me.
