Hey PSYCH-Os!👋 *Has your brain played each these 8 tricks on you as an INFJ? Comment down below 👇

FYI: It is MUCH easier to be an old INFJ than a young INFJ. IMO, it takes longer for an INFJ to feel 'comfortable in their own skin' than any other type. Hang in there, things get better.

I hope so because it can be super exhausting and I've made it to 36
@rnedlo9909 Жыл бұрын
@@ninjificus I fully understand where you are coming from. Here is a suggestion: Wherever possible, jettison people who do not value you for who you are. If they do not appreciate you, they will only try to bring you down to their level. You are too valuable to allow that to happen. Actions are more valuable than words, if a person shows they don't realize how lucky he/she is to have you in their life, that person does not deserve you. Maybe 'absence will make the heart grow fonder", if not, stay absent. Unless you learn value your uniqueness, don't expect others to. Hang in there, it will get better with time.

I recently discovered I’m an infj. Didn’t believe that at first as i see myself as much more perceiving than judging, thought I might be an INFP. After taking the original MBTI test and got a little deeper in this topic I realized I actually am a judger, though I learned to let go of control over the years (outwardly). And still. I don’t know who I am. My fear is that I will never know. I feel like I know everyone around me to their core, but still have no idea who I am. What are my values? And why? What are my motives, and why? Sometimes I feel like a stranger to myself. One day a friend of mine asked me if I ever let anyone in, and I said no because even I never got the chance to do that yet. That’s really exhausting to think about. But… it is what it is I guess. Your comment just made me want to get old already. Lol.

Oh, you are so INFJ! Just having the ability to listen to other INFJs and hear what they have been through is going to shorten the learning curve for you. It can be fun learning about yourself if you have the support of others like you. We often feel alone, I do not have another INFJ in my life and that is common, coming on these sites and hearing others talk about their experiences has been very helpful to me and I am sure every INFJ who does. Buckle up, you are in for an amazing ride!

Those last 3 are REAL REAL. EPSECIALLY the willingness to overlook someone's negative traits/toxicity, and the investment clinging. I've given way too many toxic exes way too many chances just because of the effort invested into the relationship because I visualized and worked hard to try and make something that would never happen.. >>

When it comes to Opinion anchoring, I'm self aware of this, and the trick I use to bypass this problem is I give a lot more time for people before I make a first impression. Generally doing things this way makes my first impression more accurate.

I prefer to call the placebo effect the catalyst effect. You admit (like AA) that you have a problem that you are having trouble solving yourself, you desire to solve that problem and you go to a "higher power"--doctor, shaman, priest, mentor, god, therapist--ie. placebo, and that is the catalyst for you to reconnect with your own power. We can only heal ourselves. If someone elses path is lit by our light, great!

WOW, I've always known I had issues with abandoning tasks or projects I've put effort into. Never knew it was a THING-INVESTMENT CLINGING. I started playing drums just over a year ago, and like any good INFJ, I strived to be great at it, but I'm realizing I just don't have the time and money to get to the Level, I am working towards. But now, I'm struggling to give it up for things I know are now important to me, right now. Thank you.

Oh my God! I feel I'm naked. Can't believe the accuracy. To be honest, none of the tricks above mentioned are new to me and I have known all along that I'm being played. But I had no idea this comes to me as a part of being an INFJ! Looks like the MBTI test results are 💯 accurate!😅

This happens to immature INFJs. We will not hit it off if you give me negative vibes during the first meeting. Why? Because my first impression is usually right 99%.

I used to be almost paralyzed by the Spot Light effect in highschool. Then, I learned that most people have NO idea of even who is around them, let alone what they are doing. I proved it to my kids in the gym the other day. Right in the middle of a busy gym, I did the Floss, a 200 lb (death row prison guard looking man), dancing the Floss, and NOBODY even glanced. People in general, are far too self absorbed to notice or care. We are in a group conversation, and we speak, and not only do they not listen, they ignore us completely as though we not only didn't speak, but are not even in the room, yet we still think that they are all staring at us in a crowd. Odd isn't it.

Seeing the potential in others- and ignoring the warning signs of a toxic personality 😮
@reynard2ki2 жыл бұрын
Almost none of them in a long time, except #7 - I do that one all the time. This is probably because I have a degree in philosophy. Most of these are cognitive biases (look them up, they're really interesting). The last one, 'investment clinging' isn't a cognitive bias, but a logical fallacy and it's name is actually called the Sunk-Cost Fallacy - the phenomenon whereby a person is reluctant to abandon a strategy or course of action because they have invested heavily in it, even when it is clear that abandonment would be more beneficial.
@genevievebelanger9032 жыл бұрын
This video is the perfect exemple of the "astrology" biais that is so vague that it is applicable to everyone and not only to INFJs. As I watch the video on INFJ for probably too long, I have no doubt I must confess falling victim of this biais... 🧐😅 I still watch the video anyway.

While I resonate with all these listed, #4 to me is more along the lines of ideas of reference/persecutory delusions. Especially, if I see people talking then they stop and look at me awkwardly silent.

#7 happens for me as I know what it feels like to be told I have all these horrible traits and be beat down mentally by family especially and rarely ever given a chance to show my true self. I try not to do that to people but more often than not people are as they appear and it is much rarer for them to be otherwise

I have been a preschool teacher for a little over a week now and it is the BEST place to use this gift. From 20 yrs turning wrenches to caring about the future in the most wonderful ways. 🥰 bye far the best job ever!

People don't understand why I like consume different or seemingly contrary things. This is troublesome when part of a tribe. They think you're betraying or leaving them because you consume things outside the tribe.... They never ask why that thing reasonates with us, they just assume we think like them and if we like that thing, it would be for a reason they would like it and they wouldn't like that unless they were betraying someone emotionally or psychologically. They run to generalization and never have a conversation with us. How dare you watch hunting videos, we're vegans. What are you doing? INFJ have to operate in the darkness because people don't care to know or understand us.
@DHARK18732 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is me, ALL THE TIME. I feel our ability to understand most ppl helps us to sit-in or mix-in with multiple tribes but it’s still never fully blended, like oil and water we don’t fit/mix WELL ENOUGH for them on a full time or permanent basis. Thus we’re “kicked out” without a care.

I stopped investing in people because they always… always let me down. Two good friends of mine where dating and they fake broke up to see if I would make a move on the now single ex girlfriend. When I didn’t after two weeks… I was told they where “testing me” …I was like haha… door slam.
