@maurer72796 жыл бұрын
I hope you understand that there are many reasons this is the case for people. It is often that a person who is creatively intelligent is put down by their parents because they want them to be something like a doctor or lawyer. It is also common for very creative people to be cynical because of their life at home. Take a moment to ask yourself why those you know are creative are hiding away from people. It's not true pessimism if it is all they have ever known to look for. I, for one, am one of those very cynical people, but I love poetry and writing. I don't like sharing it with people, for I fear that I will be judged cruelly, which is a mindset caused by my narcissist father. I'm not saying my father said I was bad or stupid, but he has caused me to only look for the inner motive of everyone I meet. I cannot take people at face value anymore, since I have a deep distrust of humanity instilled inside of me.

Every artist started off like that. Trust me. No one was born with the ability to make songs out of a whim. Songwriting, painting, dancing, etc. is a long process that takes years to master. Just keep trying and trying. Don't be afraid to ask for criticism. It will help BIG TIME. The more you put your creativity into practice, the more your confidence will grow and the more natural it will be for you to create.
@Psych2go6 жыл бұрын
Are you sure you are not doubtful? I think everyone who has big ideas has always at one point felt like they weren't good enough, but this is how you can continue to improve; the fact that you are never satisfied with your work can help you step out your comfort zone. :)

I heard when I was young that people are one of two minds, creative or intellectual, i used to take pride in that notion, that i was just poised to learn and know a lot of things, but the more I think about it, the more I realize its not a matter of one or the other, it's how they work off one another, and personally, a matter of taking risks. I spent so long feeding the notion that I'm just "brained a certain way" that taking risks never felt like a good idea, and now I have to unlearn that to really use the part of myself that I neglected.

Idk about anyone else, but I can say that I am a creative. Have been all my 19 years of living. Something I wanted to say is with most artist or creative's in any way, stumble upon what I like to call "the creative block". This means that for a period of time, you can't think if any ideas on what to make. Something I do to help with this is to make something anyways. Rather it's music, art, acting, writing whatever it may be. Get out of the house, and make something. That always helps my creative juices flow. Also, have someone who is creative in your life. I find that creative people are very kind, thoughtful and wise. Having someone like that in your life could benefit you in so many ways. Finally, don't be afraid to try something new. Get out of your comfort zone and dare to be different.

I come from a whole family of artists, each of us with their own art form. I'm the one fortunate to have more than one. The one I want to further progress is music. Sometimes I try not to ask because I get nervous, but when I do, I get some great tips and ways to get better. I do have a routine, but it's not that bad. I still have time to be creative. Being expressive is a great way for me to really put my ideas out there. I want to see the world outside my own house and city. It'll help make experiences, connections with people and help others. Observing is what I tend to do most often. I take a lot of information and just 'absorb' it all as I observe. Mindfulness helps ease into creativity through calmness. I'm aware of the risks and am willing to go all in. I can allow my mind to expand my initial thoughts. Whether staring at the ceiling or watching random vids, my mind is always in active mode. I always enjoy creating. Recipes, music, anything, so long as I can keep going.

1. Expose self to art It'd been working. 2. Ask questions Well I don't really know who to ask those too.... 3. Work on productivity If only I had motivation and wasnt trapped in this area. 4. Express ideas I don't have ideas that are cool... 5. Go on adventures I can't because my stupid city is dangerous and my dads job is pushing him to the point where he really just dosent want to, 6. Observe Nothing seems interesting enough to look back on, but I'll try. 7. Practice mindfulness By this comment you can tell I'm a pessimist and need to work on that. 8. Embrace risk I don't have any ideas to risk like that. 9. Daydream I don't know how to... When I do they're somone eles ideas and stay like that or boring 10. Create I will! Anyone know how to fix these problems

When you try to get a creative idea you don't but when in a random moment you get one.

I day dream about my ideas for my alt-history novel when I drive and sometimes I don't even realize I'm driving but I drive fine, I guess my subconscious is really in tune

How to be a good artist: -Be lazy and mostly spend time on electronics (dont get glasses, please.) -Then, when you get ideas or get inspired. Do art. -Say that you're going to draw daily. -Then just bail on it on the second day.

"ask more questions?" ...WHAT...? In my time, asking questions is a phenomena coming from someone's natural curiosity.

Thanks for this. It was simple yet inspiratiational. Reminding me through my Googes and KZbin searches that there is no secret formula to make myself more creative beyond just *creating*. Live and learn. Create, create, create. That's how one... creates.

Creativity isn't a tap that can be turned on and off at will. Also, a skill doesn't mean doing something fast or instantly knowing which is the right choice - sometimes it's just knowing that you have to try out lots of things in order to find the right one. I've list count of the number of times someone has said "Wait, shouldn't you know what to do right away?". I know that sometimes the right choice will come from a process of elimination, and that's part of the skill set that people are just too impatient to understand. People I might add, who have zero clue about creativity in general.
