Body position had so much to do w/what you want accomplished-like you or object of interest(what you want to present)should be on right side view of them&to gain emotional trigger, be to their left-I always try to sit(natural now)to right when selling(myself or idea)&to gain their affections or romantic interest, sit left of them(position&distance creates difference too)-good stuff.

So the concept you referring to is different than actual psychological distancing in psychology. It doesn't refer to placement of item or location but your perspective mentally (time or identitty)

Psychological distance. The parameters referred to here are inclusive of all the above. This is not an exposition on "traditional definitions" but an expansion of practical and pragmatic uses across a wide swath of experience and behaviors.
