What got me was the blustery "I was going to pay cash but I decided to finance it instead." Right. He's happy now because paying 15.5% interest and worrying about paying on time or your car gets repo'd is *SO* much better than paying cash in full up front.

I have worked in the finance industry for about 7 years and believe it or not there are many older adults who do not understand interest rates AT ALL! This is more common than most people think. Many people are not financially savvy and they enter into financing agreements without understanding what they’re signing. I hope he was able to learn from this situation.

I agree. I work in the mortgage industry and this is SO true! You’d be surprised how many people don’t refinance and get money they need for repairs or medical bills bc they say their interest rate is 3%. Well, that’s good and all, but that was also when you bought the home @ $500k. You only owe $125k & I can get you 5%. They hear the 5% and get scared not realizing 5% on say $150k ($20k in hand) & 5% on $500k are very different. The 5% is excellent in today’s market. Yet, they don’t understand & refuse to listen to how the number break down 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

I disagree I dont think the plaintiff should of got a dime aside from what was already given to him, the reason I say that is because even though the judge says that what the defendant did to the car adds value at dealerships customers will ask for a specific things to be done on the car and the dealership will pay for those specific things to make the sale the defendant might not have paid for that stuff with another customer they might have just accepted the car as is, I think the plantiffs signature the first time should have been enough hes the one who changed his mind and decided to finance.

People intentionally buy restored salvage vehicles every day. There are dealerships that actually have excellent customer ratings that specialize in selling salvage vehicles.

Rebuilt title. Most a great cars. Usually something minor like a small dent or broken bumper. DMV will register in most states after an inspection.

All kinds of dealerships sell used salvage vehicles. lol. They aren’t as taboo as they were 20 years ago. And all DMV will register a salvage vehicle with the correct paperwork.

It’s hilarious….for all the mocking of the Plaintiff going on in these comments, when in truth BOTH of men should’ve done better, speaks volumes. But he had a smile on his face because despite it all, hes getting money back, which was all he wanted in the first place. 🤷‍♂️
