I spent 9 years riding in the Idaho desert... If you ride MTB, tubeless is the only way to go... if you get goatheads on the road, Schwalbe Marathon+ tires are the way to go... still a slow tire but exponentially better than Tannus solid tires.

Is there such a thing as a non-air-filled tire, something like a solid, high-density foam material?
@BumsteadsBicycles2 ай бұрын
@@jonboz7585 there are but they have a terrible ride and over time spokes start breaking because the foam doesn’t absorb enough energy. Over the years many companies have tried with very little success.

@@BumsteadsBicycles Thanks for the info. It seems like a good approach would be a thicker, self-sealing rubber material.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airless_tire shows one picture w/ a bike tire. Also I've heard about Cushcore (never tried it myself, so not recommending it), but looks like it's intended as an _addition_ to a tubeless system for MTB/downhill.

Despite all your great efforts to prevent flats, Riding on solid rubber tires or not riding at all is the only way to prevent all of the flats coming your way. 🚴🏼🚴🏼🚴🏼🫡
