I don't think it was a coincidence that last year, the Cubs struggled with him in the rotation despite him pitching pretty well, then they made a miracle turnaround when he was out injured, but then they collapsed the final month when he returned. The Cubs are well-stocked with young stud pitchers in the minors, so Stroman won't be missed.

Everyone on the Cubs loved him. Almost every Cubs fan loves him. I think Stroman and Steele were dueling aces most of the season until Stroman got injured. The collapse at the end of the season had literally nothing to do with him. Hopefully the Cubs sign him this offseason.

One thing that wasn’t mentioned was that when the new (and current) guard rolled into Toronto and they traded him there were reports of a screaming match between the front office and Stroman. They’ve been tight lipped about the whole thing since but I don’t think they’re worried about the fans welcoming him back more the fact that the Front office doesn’t want him.

I should say they traded him near the end of his team control, not immediately. But there were articles in Toronto on how he was very vocal about his frustrations about tearing down the 2015/16 rosters after the new FO moved in.

One of the issues I had with him was he had way too many pitches. At one point in Toronto he had 6 pitches that he was working on, and struggled with most of them. He was better as a sinker pitcher cuz he pitches for contact

So for whatever reason the creator of this video has something against Stroman. A lot of people like him. I'd say the majority of baseball fans in Canada would love to see him back. In the video the claim is that "he sucked", but the truth is he's had a pretty good 9 year career so far with only Nola, Wheeler and Castillo being the only pitchers in MLB more valuable by WAR in their careers over that span.

I like Stroman a lot. Disagree with some stuff, but he’s one of my favorite pitchers to watch. I went year by year explaining his statistics. Bad years, but a lot of really good ones as well. After his Mets time, and last year with the Cubs, should be nice.

Never hated the guy, but didn't want him on the Yankees. Not sure what all the noise was from the Mets because the guy grew up in Long Island. Too bad it didn't work out for him in Queens. The biggest move that he made that I disliked was when he chose to not pitch for Team Puerto Rico. Dislike is one thing, but I prefer to say he is controversial rather than "hated everywhere"

Great player & cool dude, his highly competitive & confidence does rub people the wrong way & I see it. But as a Mets fan I LOVED him, brought a swagger to the field that a lot of teams need.
