It's very one-sided coverage of the build-up to the conflict. No mention of the Bandera inspired militias. No mention of the Amnesty International reports of persecution of the Roma and Russian speakers. Not forgetting the Rusyn people (note the spelling) of the Carpathians. The country was rapidly polarising and Putin being Putin, he took advantage. The man is an evil tyrant, exactly what one would expect from someone with his training and indoctrination. Everything that has happened, is directly attributable to the recovery from communism. I'm please he covered the fact that Ukraine was one of the four creators of the USSR. They must take their share of the blame.

Lets be totally honest here. A lot of people will say America is wasting the money on this war but have no bloody clue that America is gaining more than losing by supporting Ukraine. Actual field testing of equipment against actual super power? Yeah that sort of data and info is incredibly valuable. It also allows them to cycle stock which probably wasn't going to be used also, giving excess or close to expiration equipment/ammo along with learning about new things which pop up in a war like this. For instance the drone usage of this war alone and advancements in American war tech using civilian products has really benefitted America in what could happen in any new scenario, allowing them to equip their bases with countermeasures that are cheaper to combat new threats. Overall net positive for countries supporting Ukraine really. Terrible loss of life sure. But they are fighting so they don't get oppressed by a dictatorship again, who can blame them for fighting as hard as they can to keep a way of living that they are use to? If they had the choice before the USSR first became a thing i am pretty sure they would have rebelled against Russia back then also with the same force.

All the people in Crimea voted to leave Ukraine rule and join Russian Federation back in 2014 80% out of 1,250,000 votes. Same with Donbass area. That is 8 million gone from Ukraine to be with Russia, so does that sound like they are being oppressed by Russia? Plus another 14 million have fled Ukraine to EU....over 60% have fled Ukraine. All the talk abouts sanctions and Biden saying Russia will be isolated is rubbish. Has no one noticed Russia stashing all the worlds gold in the last 20years? Putin's been playing NATO and the world since he's been in power and it suited the worlds governments to look the other way or they were to blind to see it. The nations in NATO aren't coherent enough to form a strong leadership without the USA and the U S are to far away to react against Russia, and China and that's what Putin is relying on or hoping for.

Ok as you seem to be unaware sanctions are hitting Russia hard and hindering them in a number of ways not least the T90 MBT. Russia on the surface seems to be managing despite sanctions until you dig a little deeper and see that Russia is buying what it needs with foreign currency reserves it had those are nearly gone maybe six month's if Russia is lucky. China is playing both sides doesn't supply Russia with any meaningful military supplies but was happy to take advantage of Russia's problems to renegotiate the energy contracts it had swinging the benefit clearly to China with Russia at times actually losing money on oil and gas. Until Ukraine is resolved Putin will stay in position but he's a dead man walking he ignored the concern's of Russia's high ranking officers who argued against the special military operation. It makes me laugh all the people talking about how much Putin loves Russia nothing could be further from the truth this is the man that's stolen hundreds of millions at least and allowed his inner circle to steal more and take over lucrative businesses. He is the man that encouraged rampant corruption in every area of Russia at all levels for the simple reason to secure his position nobody wants to challenge the man making them rich that strategy has worked for him and made life harder for ordinary Russians. The biggest crime he is guilty of is accelerating the depopulation of Russia which was a growing problem before the Ukraine war now hundred's of thousands of young Russians are dead or seriously wounded and that's a very large number when your population is shrinking it isn't the act of a real patriot. Putin doesn't love Russia he loves power and the ability to use it to get what he wants, Russia could be an extremely wealthy nation benefitting it's citizens but instead that wealth has been stolen and misused on an industrial scale and Putin was the man who created that, profited from it and allows it no matter how badly it impacts ordinary Russians.
