i agree just for game health balance reasons that the resistance nerf on kelris and other bosses was a good idea but it's really depressing to see how many people just get to ignore mechanics in part because of it. i think it's probably good for the raid to wipe if someone doesnt do their job right and it's sad to see that players dont have much of a tolerance for that

I think difficulty will ramp up as we go on a little. But we still see people wiping if they don't pay attention. I mean shoot, we wiped in my Sarthe raid just a week or so ago cause we were messing around and thought the instance couldn't kill us.

hey guys, I love the podcast! I'm a audio listener only but i looked up your YT channel just to tell how much I enjoy your podcast when I am walking my dog in the forests of Bavaria. guests are amazing as always but shobek is literally my favourite guy! I love the point about solo vs regular queue. I never had a problem with losing 50% of my games but people make it sound as if they are losing every game wich is statistically not possible. . it's because they don't remember wins and give up when other team has a few priests and/or player from the same server. most of the time i try to give them pep talks braveheart style. i found a few positive people and i am having a blast playing premade with them. we lose games but we still have fun. if someone joins and starts the blame game we show them the door. i stop babbling now. keep up the great work and greetings from Germany!

Well said! And we do the same. I led a WSG premade last night and we lost about half of them over 15 of so games. I felt bad and appologized for being a bad leader but everyone assured me they had way more fun than other military type premades. And no one left after losses either so I guess they wern't lying. Also five of the people on the team we had just met that night.

Joining a premade is easier said than done when playing warrior, each premade is only looking for priests/balancedruids/hunters.

Yeah that is unfortunate. BUT!! ...Phase 2 comes with mortal strike and everyones gonna want at least 1 warrior in WSG if not 2. Hunters were bound to dominate this phase no matter what they did. Hunters are just badass at the lower levels. Thats why they were always so popular as twinks.

Wasn't that the one with naval combat? OMG thats the first game I played via LAN. Well maybe Doom was, not completely positive which one I did first. But yeah the copy of WC2 that I bought came with a peer-to-peer null modem cable that allowed you to easily network 2 computers together.

They cold add a random number every queue. That number would lets say add 96 seconds to your queue, making you queue come out it 6 minutes 36 seconds. someone that queued at the same time rolled a + 5 sec gets a total gueue of 5 minutes 5 seconds. It's not perfect to add time to queues, but I don't see a better fix. I am so Glad they are stopping gdkps.

I think a role queue would be the best option. I feel that the only problem WSGs I run into are ones that have no healers/FC. And allow war games to happen.

Role queue leads to generic team comps. Also so many people would just queue healer, for fast queres, and never heal.

Shobek, the reason people like Premade is not for social reason, it’s for free win. This is exactly why, in any video game, when they make groupe pair against other group, many people stop doing it because it become harder and there are no more free win. Then, you argue that joining premade is a minimal effort. That has not been my experience at all! I tried maybe 4 straight hour joining a premade on my warrior via trade chat, PvP Discord on my server, guild, and absolutely nobody wanted me even though I am geared. People are just inviting meta class/spec. You are right about one thing though, if people dont like it, dont do it. I am not touching Classic BG ever again after getting 6 agonizing lost in BG in a row against premade. That was 3 hours of my life. This is just a part of the game I will not participate in unless they make changes.

Yeah unfortunetly its hard to get ina grp as a Warrior this phase. That should change in Phase 2. Teams will want at least 1 if not 2 warriors for Mortal Strike.

Unfortunetly it's not my reading skills that are the issue, it's my stutter and getting stuck on words. I've gotten a lot better at speaking out loud, still isn't great. But my stutter also comes with getting stuck on words at times. When I'm speaking I can quickly choose a different word in my head to say in place of the word I'm getting stuck on. When I'm reading written text I'm trying to comprehend what is written while trying not to get stuck on certain words. You'll notice I almost always try to get someone else to read instead of me. And Mel ALWAYS acts surprised like she didn't know I was gonna ask her to read lol

I’m on team shobek even though he did RP walk through our graveyard in wsg. They should never have changed the premade meta I made a lot of friends on my exulted grind sad to not be able to do the AB grind with them.

If the premades are so focused on honor per hour that they won't play with their friends if they can't get it that's their issue. You can't destroy a game mode for 90% of players to cater to 10% who aren't even really enjoying pvp anyways. If both kinds of players are mostly just grinding for rep why make it only fun for the minority? Answer: pure selfishness.

If only 10% of the population were running premades then you'd only be queuing into them 1 out of every 10 or so games. I think you're most likely way off on those numbers. I'd say the majority of players or at least half the population is queuing in premades. That's just my guess but I think my guess is more accurate. Just feelscrafting over here.

@@mashthosebuttons 50% of games are premades. Solo que-ers just play more sporadically and most quit before they would like to out of frustration. I think a change that encourages the less engaged players to try pvp without high barrier to entry was the intent of solo que in the first place. Player behavior made a core system no longer function and Blizz should tweak it like they tweak every aspect of the game.

lol I do 1 wrath ICC GDKP a week and I've never done one in SoD. I did a ton in wrath when ToGC was out but not a ton since then. So this change doesn't affect me at all. I'm excited for this change and eager to see how much it cuts down on gold buying in SoD. I think it will be a lot!

I love this show, but the discussion about premades seemed very elitist. While I'm sure Bob had success against premades, that's what we call anecdotal evidence. Also, Shobek seems to want the average player to just accept getting stomped by premades. "You are going to have to do things in this game that aren't enjoyable." Ok, accepting that logic, who decides what stuff in the game should be "not enjoyable" and for whom? You can just as easily use that argument in the other direction: premades need to accept that they will have to beat other premades. The goal in every decision should revolve around balance. Notice I said balance and not parity. Things don't have to be perfectly 50/50 (think any discussion about Horde/Alliance advantages). However, whether I queue as a solo or group, there should be an expectation of a fair playing field. To Bob's point about Discord, even if they're not in voice chat, there are several other factors that cause imbalance. The most glaring one is group composition. Even without voice, the premade gets to choose what classes and gear thresholds are required for the team. That is something the solo player does not get. So you really think that saying, "suck it up" to a solo player who has to go against 4 hunters and 3 priests is ok? Finally, you shouldn't make assumptions that solo players are all just walking in with the worst gear (Shobek's comment about "full greens") and sucking. All of you are prominent WoW players with access to many other people in the same circles and similar circumstances (e.g., amount of time you can spend on the game), making it obvious why you don't want to lose the advantage in this topic (leading to easy and fast honor). I would suggest taking a step back and realizing that the people asking for changes in BGs just want to have an even playing field.

I think people that do not do premades don't realize that when we premade we go up against other premades 75% of the time. At least that's how its been in SoD for the 40 or so hours of WSG I've done in phase 1. I will say that back in 2019 Classic that was not the case. We almost always queued into non-premades back then. IDK what the difference is, maybe its the playerbase learning since then that premades are a better bet for their time spent in BGs maybe. Whatever it is though it's vastly different now as opposed to then.
