@@jacobhindson2275 That is definitely something to consider. I think the Primus and the shadowlands have been already conquered and ordered by the titans. I think Amanthul shared his time visions with the Primus because he saw the Primus as a tool under his control. I think the Primus has been looking for a way to break free. I think shadowlands was a huge plot to forge the crown of wills and escape from under the titans.

@@jacobhindson2275 It could also have been Sargaras, Part of the reason the Legion was so strong is because they used the chaotic time of the twisting nether to advance their armies and tech in between TBC and Legion (which itself is an extension of the idea of orc warlocks rapidly aging their children with fel). Also, Sarg was already being used in their plans -- And we suspect that he may have been dominated, and may have had runeblade-like properties with his sword. Quite a bit pointing those two together, honestly. A lot less with Aman'thul, even if he does fit the "time master" description better.

As an author of a series (5 books and counting), I'm setting up things 3 or more books ahead of time. I have a general idea of the main points and where they are going to end, but getting there's the journey of writing. something I said back in book 2 can be referenced in book 5, with writing around that reference that "remembering what happened, the images come back, writing over the old to the point I could no longer remember which one happened and which was my own nightmares." I would have been surprised if they hadn't worked out this stuff prior to even starting to work on the Saga. They have to have a huge "story bible" of instances, characters referenced in them, settings and terminology. It's all online now, but when I started writing, I did my notes in a 5-subject notebook that I have tabbed to find things. I now have 6 of those, but I've been trying to shift over to the Scrivener (writing program) file system. And I've seen storyboards with illustrations, I just imagine that Blizz has corridors with the story tacked up on the wall for reference by everyone (hey, Oscar, did you update board #75 on floor 2 to the new illustration and change of character?) And I play for the study and I've not roleplayed at all in WoW. Would love to try it but...

I love a few things you do. 1. You interact with commenting and views that’s a plus. 2. Your detail to oral tradition. As a Native American I have learned by stories passed from generations. 3. I care about bmx just as much as you care for this story.. (game). I run multiple pages, read all I can and talk to as many people as I can in the field to learn about my addiction to bmx. You have the same look in your face as I do for details. Appreciate that it makes things comfortable to me.

My thoughts exactly. I love the addition of the Earthen, and they're rolling it into the lore very well. Stone Horde Dwarves? Sign me the FUCK up.

technically Nightborn and Nightelves are the same, one is just more arcane corrupted. With Blood elves and Void elves, one is simply more void aligned but still the same elf type. And even more technical, all elves are the same but some just changed to adapt to their surroundings and livestyles. And they are still just an offshoot of trolls in the end ;) I don't see the problem with this, but at this point Blizz should just make ALL races in the game playable unless they are canoically unable to play nice with the "nice side (our player side)" or are explicitly impossible to have playable like for example a voidlord or and old god. You don't want more elves? Don't play them simple as that, there are more races to choose from even with our current roster. And just hope they add in what you want/dream of in up coming expacs or patches. I was personally fine with only nightelves and blood elves, but having the other ones does increase what I can RP and such.

@@Ozraevun That's why I don't get people crying to play high elves though. The Velf/Nelf models all have access to the hair/skin/eye colors of the Helf models. You can make yourself visually one if you want to now.

I wonder what angle as they gonna take with Alleria and Turalyon. Alleria is 100% going to overcome her struggles in TWW and I cannot see the story evolving with them fighting each other. The whole point of Alleria character arc is about protecting her loved ones and I cannot see Turalyon choosing the light over his wife. Something tells me the army of the light will play a big role in midnight and Turalyon will have to renounce to him being light forged. To me it’s obvious the whole saga is about void and light ending in harmony at the end. The single greatest example of this is Alleria and Turalyon and how they make it work despite the struggle of both forces. Which is something acknowledged even in Shadowrising

As a Gnome role-player since TBC that lost hope after getting 4 "events" in 20 years of WoW... Here's a quick reminder : WoW release - 5 years - Terran Gregory (Gnome Flagbearer) joins the WoW team/Ulduar - 1 year - Cata's Operation: Gnomeregan prepatch - 6 years - Legion's Mekkatorque first appearance in a cinematic - 3 years - Battle of Dazar'alor/Mechagon - 5 years - The War Within. Let me tell you that everything in TWW "Machine Speakers" is rising an alarm. We're jumping in Dwarven lore, going back to the elves/trolls with Midnight, but then... I feel like we'll get something spicy. It's a full circle, going back to the first lore drop for Gnomes and Terran's "origin". From the Fizzcrank Airstrip introduction to Mechagnomes to the huge role Mimiron plays in Ulduar. And who has given power to Mimiron again? Let me check that real quick. It's about to go down folk, and I just hope Mimiron is going to wake up too... Cause otherwise, he'll surely... loose... its... head... And I sure hope Mechagnomes will get more customization. I want mech-spider legs or wheels gosh darnit.

Also, the Earthen uses Azerite burst as a racial, and are split in 3 groups. I don't know man, is Azeroth split in 3 too? That Troll Heritage Armor quest was fun, eh? So much fractals. For what we know, the 3 Earthen groups are the farmers that don't care about the orders anymore and rebels (Cough cough Sargeras/Anshe, heck, there's fire bees and mead), the city folks that are neutral bystanders in all of this (Azeroth) and the machine-speakers still following Titans order (Eonar/Elune). I freaking love it.

as someone who has followed the story in so many MMOs, its good to see one thats finally ending up in the hands of competent storytellers, or at least we think it is now, i sure hope. Warcraft lore is something i love, and its been tertiary for a long time, the other one that comes to mind is Eve online, genuinely some of the more interesting story in that game but because tis such a great sandbox, the stories made by players are way more important and compelling, high ghopes for it

Races I want to be able to play: 1. Dryads. 2. Murlocs. 3. Naga. 4. Harpies. 5. Kobolds. 6 . Ethereals. 7. Centaurs, however with how DF made both Dryads and Centaurs look I'm not sure how appealing they'd look with those stupidly long arms and almost T-posing stance... Bizzard has troubles making half-human/four legged creature look anatomically nice imo. The ranking has nothing to do with the actual want for the race but just numbering them in general.

That's tough because a big part of the game at this point is nostalgia. Starting as a level 1 and killing boars. But they moved on from that already and the game does have to grow. I like the idea where they are going back to familiar places in Midnight and the Last Titan. Going to places we are familiar with and allowing them to progress and grow with the game.

I think one client homogenous client allowing you to pick your classic era, using Chromie's system, could be sound. Classic Data is being formatted to modern DB2 structure now so it's not impossible anymore. (e.g. You can run all vanilla/tbc/wrath era stuff, tuned to that expansion, with a Shadowlands client on your own local private server already)

Pyromancer, I hope you see this WoW seems to take a lot from Marvel. For instance, The celestials being grown inside worlds and awakened. When they awake the world explodes will that happen with Wow. Do not be so eager to wave it off. With time travel it is very easy to correct something like that.

Reintroducing characters the same way XIV does really doesn't work in WoW; WoW doesn't have 10-15 minute pure unvoiced dialogue cutscenes of talking heads to exposit plot and (re)introduce people. Most of its story comes from quest text and NPC interations, cutscenes are few and far between, and are usually voiced. And since players have full control during most NPC interactions/dialogue, they can easily run off and miss key things.

Yeah idk. Your reasoning doesn't make sense. If they want to add more story, they should (and have) been doing that. More dialog and cutscenes in DF by a lot. Quality needs to be better, but they're stepping it up with the cinematics in game

@hobosnake1 All of those were voiced dialogue scenes, not talking head expositions with solely text. Recording dialogue and animating to it is a lot harder and more costly than having no voices and able to just do idle movements. And since, to my 18 years of experience playing WoW, Blizzard hasn't done anything like that with cutscenes.

Just a quick clarification on a couple points here - Pyro's usage of language regarding Evitel was many years ago and has since recently apologized for it publicly (and I can provide a link to the video where he does so if needed.) Further, while I can't speak for Taliesin's feelings, Pyro doesn't "hate" Tali - to paraphrase his own words, it's not 'all love' but he's content to let bygones be bygones. Stepping out of my editor role and speaking on a personal level, I agree that future collaboration would be interesting. Time will tell!

If you believe that the story is in good hands with these writers, you are nuts! These new wave writers all over entertainment, being movies or series or animations or games have lost the concept of good vs evil, like Tolkien had in LOTR. These writers know only one thing: for the WOW effect felt by an audience, they need to turn everything upside down, they call it 'subvert expectations': everything that is 'good' that was well established for years in a in-universe part, it needs to be changed to 'evil' and everything 'evil' vice versa. Disney is doing this the exact thing with their characters like Cruella, Maleficent, Star Wars characters and many more. These writers don't have the capacity to think other WOW effect for their audiences, only this one. Same in game and animations. That exact effect is not bad always, it can be good, but they are using it always and with the same shit. And another thing about these writers: they are just as bad as J J Abrams, they can't finish a story on the same note they started. J J Abrams had many movies and series that were started with very good ideas and concepts, but he never ended them on the same note. There are a ton of movies/series that started good, very good and ended badly: Alias, Lost, Undercovers, Alcatraz, Fringe, Almost Human, Revolution, Persons of Interest, 11.22.63, Castle Rock, Lovecraft Country, Westworld and movies like Cloverfield, Star Trek, Star Wars, Mission Impossible 3 (after it they never let him touch the directors chair again, only producer), Super 8 and maybe more. All of these titles here started with really, really good ideas for stories and in the middle, he BLA BLA and then ended them badly. He can't finish. He starts strong and then, he has a thing of putting mysteries upon mysteries that he explains it with "mystery boxes into mystery boxes into boxes about mystery boxes" and then, he never explains them, never and introduces a new story that explains it all without having a connection to it. Same here with the writers of Warcraft: they keep coming with new mysteries and retcons and the old mysteries are never explained. For a story to be good and to move forward with it, it has to have it's mysteries explained. The only stories that don't need that are the ones that are finished with the mystery and let the audience to decide. Like Christopher Nolan did. But the ones that continue to move forward and have other stories spawned from them, the mysteries needs to be explained at some point. We can't have always finish the story with more mysteries than when we started and then, when the new story begins, the old big mysteries are never explained and we are drowned in new mysteries. This is a well known trope to hide the bad writing because you don't know how to explain your other mysteries. You don't have a good idea to move the story forward and you put more mysteries to hide that fact. Even with the return of Chris Metzen, this is not old Blizzard and at this point Microsoft needs want their money that got invested, so this was a PR shit big company move. He will not have the creative power he had once, they just did this to make the audience return and believe that old Warcraft style came back. A PR stunt... The creative freedom of entertainment disappeared, they are now tied to the DEI and ESG thingy and the creative process is not creating, just follows a guideline...
