I go to South America for work regularly. I’m 58 years old and I’m beginning to learn Spanish via a variety of apps and talking to people and this by far has been the most connective thing for me because it explains why patterns are the way they are, which is somethingintuitively English speakers are trying to figure out when they’re speaking. This is just fantastic I cannot thank you enough.

These videos are the only Spanish training that has worked for me. The focus of his videos is rooted in the concepts of HOW the language works. He illustrates them by using words you already know from English. This becomes an instant enabler for not only those words, but words like them in Spanish that you don't know yet. English has these concepts too, but you could get by not knowing them because being immersed in it since a child, you know when things are right by their sound, and there was always someone with you guide you. Even so, you took English all the way through school. You learn new words all the time, but you don't have trouble working them into a sentence because you are leveraging language concepts that you don't know the names of. Thus, teaching the HOWs are far more valuable than teaching the WHATs because HOWs enable you to become conversant with what you know, and a structure for new words as you learn them. What I didn't realize until now that this was the missing piece for me. It was impossible for me to maintain the focus and energy to learn the language I need learn unless I'm able to use it as I learn. (and you wouldn't believe all of the things I've tried and they all ran out of gas)

Did a lot of research and found Mark Thomson (Russian Accelerator) and found his methods excellent. My motivation dwindled over this last year or so as I realised I’d not be able to visit Russia or Ukraine to practice the language so I have decided to learn Spanish. Applied the same practice in finding out presenters/teachers/ courses on KZbin and very quickly came across you Paul. Excellent! Your methods work very well for me (I also don’t like apps for learning). I’m also engaging a F2F teacher locally and have had my first lesson with him so I know that together I will learn well. I am from Russia. I studied German at school, which is more difficult to me as you have to remember 3 genders 4 cases for each noun. But when I was 16 I started to study English by myself and with a help of an old soviet textbook aimed for people learning English as a second abroad language. English as an analytical language is much more logical and thus easier to study, so I just loved it. And now, when I am 46, I started to sudy Spanish just for myself, as I like to see the logics of a language, explore the world behind the language and explore my own language more due to it. I find it much easier to study Spanish after English and via sources in English. Because this way I train both English and Spanish, and in English there are much more nice Spanish lessons, also the two languages have much in common. I found the KZbin lessons of Qroo Paul's yesterday and they are extremely useful to me!!! As many people here, I also use Duolingo which is good, but sometimes too boring to study one simple lesson for a very long time, and not repeating enough the old lessons, forgetting the words from them.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I may create a new series using these techniques, but each lesson would be much shorter. The consensus from viewers is that they were way too long. I do have a longer animated course that I created for my English-speaking neighbors in friends living in Mexico: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6q1cquMr5asjNk

I was raised with Spanish but never expected to speak it. So my ability to form sentences and think of words for grammar is almost non existent, but it’s there I just don’t speak or practice. This method and speed of practice is perfect for someone in my (situación). lol Thank you! What a great way to teach and involve us in the process instead of passively repeating sentences. I feel like I’m actively thinking each time and your explanations are amazing.

Day 2 and I'm not skipping ads :) I am able to follow. I've used duolingo for a year and the progress is so slow. Your lessons are bringing me to an upper conversational level as well as practice speaking it. Muchas gracias.

That's great to hear! Thanks for watching the series and I hope they help you reach that next level in your Spanish. Thanks for not skipping the ads too. :)

I just love the way you teach. I've learned more in two lessons than I've learned in HS and college Spanish classes. Thank you. Moving onto Lesson 3!!!

This is great. It keeps feeding as fast as I can digest it.

I’m in to tips and streamlining work as well as learning this language. You teach under the premise of “learn smarter, not harder.” I commend you for facilitating this efficient-type learning style. 😊

Qroo Your lessons are totally cool ! I moved from the USA to Spain in 2016 {you can guess why}. I have had four semesters of Spanish that were totally submersive, I am about a year on Duolingo, I have a Spanish lady that comes to my house twice a week for conversation and I still am not conversational. A friend of mine just turned me onto your courses and I am excited because you just make so much sense. I have just done my second lesson and I can tell that there are things that I already understand better. Plus you seem like a muy simpatico hombre a visitar con media hora todos los días.

This is really helping me. I bought a Babble subscription, and the lessons here are much more purposeful than the things the app is having me do. Thank you.

The benefits of "language by formula" expands one's ability even further when one considers the many phrases we use over and over in English with multitudes of nouns and verbs. As in these examples, we can learn one phrase so well it rolls out of our mouths with ease (and minimal thought), propelling us into the blank noun, verb or another phase which might slow us down a bit until we have used that same combination a few times. This is marvelous! Thanks for the linguistic insights!!

Hola. Buenos dias. Muchas gracias. Even after spending several hours taking courses on udemy and finishing up to 3 beginner courses, I still lack the confidence to state myself in Spanish. Thru this lesson of yours, I can now fully understand and navigate with my own words and create a ton of sentences using the presented techniques. Estas un profesor maravilloso!

Just finished all 33 lessons in your Animated series. Wish you would add to that series. 10 minutes is an ideal time. Plus the graphics were great! Glad I did that series first. Lesson 1 in this series was a lot to take, but having done the animated series consolidated many concepts. Very much liked the practice and repetition in Lesson 2. Thank you! 🌻🌈

I'm glad you enjoyed the animated series. This series is similar, but the lessons cover a lot more material. Thanks for watching. :)

I started using one of those apps and it’s great for memorizing stuff but not using it in real life. This has been transformative to my Spanish and I’m so confident after finding this channel
