Untouchable in his own right. He was amazing back in the day. He was right on par with Dickinson, Halford & Dio. This song was written by then guitarist (& forever legend) Chris DeGarmo & Geoff Tate. Great review Ms Jay!

The Warning is one of their best albums imo. Writing credits on this track are Geoff Tate & Chris DeGarmo. Queensrÿche actually has a new album out, but it’s not the same without Tate and DeGarmo. I saw them with Metallica at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on their Operation Mind Crime tour (original lineup) and it was amazing! 🤘

Great review Jay! This band is in my top 5 metal bands and Geoff Tate who is the lead singer is one of the top metal singers from the 80's, if not the best. This song is very inspirational and always picks me up when I'm feeling down. Check out 'Queen Of The Ryche' (Unleash the Archers did a cover of this) and a slower more atmospheric/fantasy song called 'The Lady Wore Black'. Their next album which is called 'Rage for Order' is my favorite album of all time, (which is saying a lot since I'm a huge Rush fan.), it's was way ahead of it's time with subject matter (lots of Artificial Intelligence questions before anyone really talked about it like they do today/ also the production quality and layers is very technical.) and then their is the album 'Operation: Mindcrime' which must be listened to in it's entirety with lyrics close by as it is a full story/concept album that is still relevant today. Hope you give a listen someday. Also, check them out live in Japan around 1984-85, they sound awsome.

Queensryche's combination of mindblowing complex and evocative work in both vocals guitar makes almost everything they do hauntingly beautiful. The Operation: Mindcrime concept album is amazing. If you can do a reaction to either the whole album or maybe film individual songs sequentially as you listen to the album, you will get some great videos. I tried suggesting a few songs, but every single song is so mind-blowingly good that proved impossible. 3 of the most popular metal reactions, (from very different genres) are Jinjer's Pisces Live Session, Nightwish's Ghost Love Score at Wacken 2013, and Disturbed's Sound of Silence live on Conan

Great band and song, their current singer Todd Latorre does a great job in Tate's place too actually. Original singer's name is Geoff Tate, and his voice was awesome then too but it's declined majorly.... When you compared him to Bruce from Iron Maiden, I could hear it and interestingly enough Queensryche actually started out as an Iron Maiden tribute band. The lyrics of this tune are so inspiring and powerful!!! \m/

You could listen to the whole album and do reactions to "I Don't Believe in Love" and "Eyes of a Stranger". They are both powerful in their own right but with the emotional setup of the story leading up to them they are devastating.

Check out the 1984 video for this song Geoff Tate sounds exactly the same live. He has an opera background with a 5 Octave range, truly the greatest metal vocalist of all time! 🤘
@reedallen46132 жыл бұрын
Geoff Tate is the vocalist, and this song was actually co-written by Geoff Tate and lead guitarist/backing vocalist Chris DeGarmo. And you should check out the Live in Tokyo 1984 version. Back then, Geoff Tate was untouchable. And the three highest sustained notes Geoff hit were the E5.
@reedallen4613 Жыл бұрын
And I'd like to add that Geoff Tate was Classically trained, and that comes through with his full rich Vibrato. Also, Geoff Tate's NATURAL vocal range is that of a Baritone. And yet he spent MOST of the song in the 5th Octave, which is no joke, and EXTREMELY high for a male vocalist. Also, Geoff Tate does NOT go into Falsetto, but is instead using normal Head Voice. But anyway, I absolutely LOVE how you give your HONEST opinion based SOLELY upon what you are hearing both musically and vocally. Oh yeah, by the way you have a new subscriber.

I'm pretty sure the main song writers for Queensryche were Geoff Tate (the singer) and Chris DeGarmo (lead guitar). Another Queensryche song that stands out is "Speak" from the excellent album "Operation Mindcrime". You should at least listen to that song, but really, the whole album. "Walk in the Shadows" and "NM 156" are other excellent choices.
@j.f.fisher53185 жыл бұрын
If you wanted to do a reaction from Mindcrime, Speak is incredibly powerful and is kinda in the beginning or middle of the story so you won't be lost on the plot, and also won't spoil the amazingly emotional stuff at the end either if/when you listen to the whole thing.

Geoff Tate is a Classically trained vocalist , by Maestro David Kyle. Chris DeGarmo, the guitarist, the dude in the goofy purple shirt, also has an excellent voice and does the backing vocals. Alright girl, I see you headbanging! You like it! Technically, Geoff Tate, in his prime, was untouchable. He was the best. If you saw them live, it would sound like the album. Absolute perfection. Chris DeGarmo, was the primary song writer. Unfortunately, Chris left the band to become a pilot. This whole album kicks ass!
