3:28 “When you comprise with something that you’re not going to be happy about, you’re not compromising, you are sacrificing.” Wow so powerful even during the lock downs due to Covid- 19. Many sacrifices being made and people are finding out who they are 🙏🏾

I think these are very important things to discuss especially before marriage. These questions will identify any red flags. Compromising on values and morals is something that I don’t recommend. It’s really hard to make a relationship work with someone who doesn’t have the same views as you.

So important! This can even be applicable to a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. They do what they feel like they have to do to get you, but not to keep you.

I think many women are hesitant to answer questions about how they expect their spouse to keep himself up because it has been drilled in us that we are being "too picky and will never have anyone". Some women are told to just be glad they have a man and to do whatever it takes to keep him happy (and the bills paid). The fear of being alone and being looked upon as inadequate has plenty of women blindly settling. My aunts, grandparents, and immediate family are on me all the time about being single but I just don't want to end up unhappy (like many of them).
@anitaknight39156 жыл бұрын
Amen huni, I'm the same way and I refuse to settle!! Your a queen, never compromise your standards. I'd rather be alone than in an unfulfilling relationship just for the sake of having someone like most people today too.

Amen. The church tell us the say thing. They say, "He just got to be saved and love God. He will be a good husband." Meanwhile there are women put on façade like they happy in public. These women who are unhappy and miserable in church because got someone they never married in the first place. They trying to do activities at the church to keep them busy from being with husband. It does mean we set standards that are unrealistic and crazy. We don't need to settle with just anybody out of fear.

Wow, the irony that they try to lure you into unhappy situations that they themselves have not realized they don't need and have settled for, for so many years.

Fantastic and insightful video, however what I have noticed with both men and women is that many times a lot of us are so desperate to be in a couple or relationship that we all will lie about it all in the name of not begin alone or having to keep on searching. These were pretty good. There are a few I'd definitely need to add in. Such as "What is your priority reason for wanting to marry (me)?" And "What are your plans to cover us spiritually in Christ as the head of our home (my husband)?" My future husband must he a follower of Christ and leading our home in a spirit of holiness and honor is his duty. And the courtship must continue between. Laughter and fun should always remain.

Life isn't that simple. There's loss, grief, job losses, illness that can impact our capacity for all things. So, what about incorporating that into those issues which I agree need to be discussed to keep connection. What you're saying is great in theory but the nuances of life and the minutia can complicate matters. Giving one another space through challenges and still having one another's back will keep all things in alignment. Too often selfishness sets in with one and contaminates the relationship.

You right! It will save people so much heartache. Everybody's view of marriage is not the same in what their ideal marriage looks like. People have different views on what the roles in marriage looks like. Everybody does not have the same values. I found out that Christian man and woman can be on different pages.

@salsasoul41125 жыл бұрын
Marriage is an all in deal. Spiritually, mentally, emotionally, financially... It's heavy stuff. There's so much that needs to be completely clear before marriage. Especially, if you plan on having children. Ex. Please find out if any diseases, etc. run in the family on both sides. Watch their character. I was once in a relationship and from observation early in the game, I realized that he liked young girls. The spectrum is very long. Personally, I don't trust anyone enough to marry them and have them deeply involved in every aspect of my life.
@PsychTherapy2 жыл бұрын
why is that surprising? Men of all ages sexually prefer young girls to older women. Men will only pursue an older woman despite having younger options when he is in love with her personality, how she makes him feel.

What's irritating about the weight issue is the fact that as women we have babies and many other changes that can make it more difficult to lose the weight. So now I've given life, but I should be okay with his vain standard when he leaves? I get it. It just makes me never want to try at relationships again.

Stephan, how can women speak with their husbands/boyfriends without hurting their fragile ego? A man's fragile ego is a very difficult issue for women. We are scared to approach men about difficult topics - it feels like we are walking into a minefield. We sincerely do not want to hurt men. We simply want to discuss/improve difficult, sensitive issues for everyone's benefit. Could you please consider doing a video about this topic or address this issue in one of your upcoming videos?

This bothers me because there seems to be an assumption that people do not change. How does a virgin woman or celibate man know what they need or want sex-wise in their marriage? How ca 20-somethings expect to know what they'll need when they're in their 60s? It's good to talk about some of these things, but Stephan makes it sound like you cannot change later on.
