No matter how old I get it's things like your video that make me miss my Dad so much! I am the same with the butter and peanut butter, and my Dad would watch me laying it on my toast and he'd say "Are we laying bricks?" He grew up with bare essentials, and he'd say all you need is a taste...yea right Dad. That daughter of yours has the most genuine beautiful smile and attitude to boot. I admire the way you've raised the kids, we weren't able to have children so when I see how awesomely yours are maturing. I have a much better outlook on our Country. And if I wasn't so tired, I'd be whipping me up a snackee right now.

Thanks! I've tried this twice now. The first time I used regular oats because it was all we had on hand - and it didn't turn out. However, our American Guinea Hog loved it! 😀 I made it again as you suggested and it turned out great. I used butter, honey and some homemade applesauce as a topping.
@Reeder6Wisconsin4 жыл бұрын
If you use regular or old fashioned oats let it soak overnight - I used 1C oats, 1/3C of cashew milk, 3 eggs and it worked out great - even flipped in 1 piece. It could be a savory pancake too - I tried to add some savory and will need to work on that part (it needed something - not sure what at this point).

This has become one of my favorite things! I added cinnamon, chopped walnuts and diced apple in the batter. I fry them up smaller so I can put them in the toaster. I put peanut butter on them after toasting to add even more protein. Thank you so much!
@shimaijonzu4 жыл бұрын
You are probably not monitoring this post anymore, but, Our favorite snack is peanut butter candy: 1 part peanut butter, 1 part honey (or equivalent), and one part powdered milk. Mix together, add more powdered milk if it is too sticky, more honey if it is too dry. roll into 1 inch balls and freeze. Packs a punch of energy if you are running low and has lots of protein.

We tried this today and it was a big hit with my littles. Of course I used what I had on hand. Just to test it out I use the instant oatmeal that’s flavored. Which does make it nice that I didn’t have to put anything sticky on top. We used brown sugar and apple cinnamon and it turned out amazing. I will definitely be doing this in the future with a couple different added ingredients

I love to cook with cast iron but it does not heat up evenly. Don't believe me, put a little flour in the bottom of your pan, put your burner on medium-high and you will see how it browns the flour unevenly. To preheat your cast Iron pan use the oven, turn your oven on whatever temperature you want your pan to be and when the oven temperature reaches the desired level so will your frying pan.

well , yeah 3 eggs, honey and butter is a healthy snack? in whos world? fun to watch. You might 'nail it' if you used old fashioned oats, egg whites, and Pyure which does make a honey but i have never tried it.
