The one about the ashes is disgusting. Basically they made the mother of this child feel like she lost her son twice so they could have shiny new necklaces for a child they never came to visit. Shame on her husband and that whole family. Putting their grief before the mother’s.

The story with the donations. When the father said it would teach their son life isn’t fair? No. No, it will teach their son any work he does will never be rewarded in the ways promised. It will teach him that there is no point in working hard because he’ll be lied to.

the hot tub story: reminds me of something I read ages ago. Back in the 1900s, at a seaside resort, some men would hire a rowing boat, take it out a fair way, and swim naked from it. A woman living right on the coast complained that she could see them and it was distressing her. The men were informed of this, and, horrified at causing offence, offered to take the boat much further out. A while later the woman was asked how things were now. She replied that she could still see the men - *with a small telescope*. Talk about going out of your way to be offended ...

I once lived in a rural area , and me and my boyfriend were enjoying the pool , au natural, on our 3 acres , in the backyard. There were cropdusters that would come around. One just kept coming back and forth but not doing any dusting. Took us a bit to realise he was looking. Next path, we both stood up and waved. He left.

It’s so weird how people talk about how the father didn’t abandon the daughter because he paid child support. Abandonment comes from never having a relationship with your parent. Money means nothing to children. It’s for their upbringing and well being. But to spend valuable time with the parent is worth more than a million dollars. To never meet with the parent is true abandonment

I fully believe that if women should be able to get abortions without the dads approach....(which they should). That men should be able to choose to leave the situation if they voice that they would like the woman to do that. And I guess it's complicated because of the emotional stress that could and probably frequently does come with abortion....but that doesn't change the fact that the man is being force to be a father and apparently has no say. He didn't treat these kids badly. He just wasn't in their life except for financially

Uninviting Gay Friend: NTA, and the update demonstrated why very clearly. Let's forget about the "gay" aspect for a moment. I know that the second a gay person becomes involved, it's reddit's standard that they're always right and everyone else is homophobic. So let's ditch that for now. One of OP's friends revealed "love like" feelings for him. That ain't small change. He didn't say he was attracted to OP... he said he might be in LOVE with him. That's another ball of wax entirely. At a prior job one of my coworkers was my workout buddy. Lifted weights together, showered together. And he was flamboyantly gay. Sometimes told me I had a nice backside. No worries, no care, and my girlfriend (now wife) didn't care. But he never confessed to being in love with me, or that would have changed things entirely. People are so quick to defend various groups they sometimes lose sight of things right in front of them. Having some feelings between friends... who hasn't had that happen in a friend group? Pretty much happens to everyone. Most of the time it either winds down on its own or serious friction arises, depending on the depth of those feelings. Reading through the comments about him being TA for not wanting to be on the trip with a friend who was in love with him really torqued my hide.

My father started forbidding me to cut my hair so that while I sometimes liked long hair sometime I didn’t want that abusive asshole to tell me I couldn’t also enjoy a short cut...So absolutely-my first semester in the college dorm I had a friend cut it -Cut it all off! for me it was my mom (though dad does admit he prefers longer hair on women because it's more feminine... but he's never stopped any of us from chopping our hair.) I'm 36, married/out of her house for 11.5 years, with twin 9 year olds and she STILL tries to control my hair. She's complained about my undercut prettymuch non-stop for the 3 years I've had it. Once I had to point out to her that with my hair down, you can only tell right around my ears... and that at the time she said "I just don't want you to go super short like your sister"... my mom's hair was almost 4" shorter than my hair outside the undercut. (My sister goes with "men's" cuts.) and she keeps harping on me "ruining my beautiful red hair" with my fantasy colors... I've told her before she's just pushing me to keep it but I guess she doesn't believe me.

The gay friend story is very ironic. In the original post everyone was giving OP shit for thinking about uninviting Ryan, calling him homophobic and a bad friend and that Ryan wasn’t going to do anything. But then the update happens and turns out Ryan _did_ try to do some creepy shit, which really sucks for OP since he pretty much got shamed for what turned out to be a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts.

If I found out that someone was attracted to me with whom I did not want to be romantically involved, I would be sympathetic, but firm that we are "not going there". I would tell them that I have had a love interest who did not return my attentions so that I knew that it was miserable, but they had to move on. If they behaved, OK, otherwise we would have to not be around each other for the present. (I certainly would never argue with their taste.)

Celibacy story: I feel like they’re not the a-hole and I really wish I had a partner who was as understanding as theirs, when I was struggling with my self worth after suffering long term abuse. It’s terrible when you feel like your body is the only thing that makes you feel valuable. It doesn’t matter if you understand logically that you do have value outside what you can offer sexually, the mind is a cruel twisted thing sometimes. Abuse, mental issues, self esteem issues etc can be such damaging things. Not the a-hole to want to do things to improve your mental/physical health. Kudos to the partner for being understanding too, it can be a really hard pill to swallow to be denied physical connection even for obviously good/important reasons
@ResidentMilf
@ResidentMilf 3 жыл бұрын
The commenter who said they wouldn't stay with a partner who would stop sexual activity "for no reason" pissed me off the most. If it was "for no reason" I'd agree, but it wasn't. It was for her mental health, you insufferable glob of penile discharge. If they can't go without sex for a few months for their partner's mental health, do they really love them? Would they be singing the same tune if a physical illness was preventing sex from being had? Some people's kids, I swear...

So I had an amazing dad, but he 100% could not take care of me if I was throwing up. He couldn't change my diaper as a baby. It was so bad that when my brother changed my niece's diaper, my dad literally ran out of the room gaging. My son is this bad, he can't even pick up dry dog poop, and I can't handle throw up, and my little boy knows if he's throwing he's on his own. One Halloween, my little cousin threw up in the van while we were taking the kids trick or treating. My dad and I jumped out of that van like it was on fire. 😂 You saw an adult woman and an old man on the side of the road dry heving into the ditches while my mom was cleaning it up. Some of us can't handle throwup, and some can't handle poop either. But that being said, what's more traumatic, being sick and mom coming to save you, or being sick and dad throwing up on you. I don't think the strength of your stomach should have a barring on your ability to be a dad. If otherwise he's a good dad, she needs to get over herself.

As someone who hates the whole pet hair thing, I get it. I would highly recommend getting some dry cleaner bags. Keep some in the laundry room. Take the pants directly from the dryer and stick them in the bags. Put the bags in your car. Change into your pants at the office. Change when get home and immediately stick them in the bag. Sticky rollers aren't great. The bag idea is a lot more work, but it will keep you a lot cleaner.

Temporary Celibacy: YTA for advertising this to your friends. Why would someone feel the need to tell their friends about their sex life? I’m no prude, but I don’t share details about my partner’s intimate life without their express permission. Nta on the school donations story. This is the prefect example why I dont give donation nor do I participate in school sales for anything as when I was a child I transferred back to after being moved from one school to another due to over crowding. At the fifth grade the school has a fund raiser for students to take a trip by selling your typical school fair crap and you needed to sign up a certain number of people in order to go on said trip. Well not only did I make the numbers but I even over sold by another 500 dollars by hitting up my parents work places, only to be told that because myself and 60 other students hadnt been there the previous year that we were not eligible to go on said trip unless we outright paid for it as the tickets for current students were paid by the previous 5th grade students so in order to go we would have to shell out an additional $358 dollars to join the rest of those in our grade.......... back in the 80s f school fund raisers

Her preferences seem more compulsive than conscious. OP doesn't ever HAVE to grow her hair out again, but I'd hope that'd be her active choice, rather than a result of her past trauma making the hair feel like oppression.

I don’t know if I trust the update on the story about Ryan. Going from do sign of a crush straight to sexual harassment proving that op was right to want to uninvite him? Could be true but it’s a little suspicious

Big Tip Story: You knew before you wrote this that you're not the asshole for bringing the beer or for keeping the tip. I don't know why you are asking? Are you looking for guidance on what you could have done to improve the situation. Basically, are you asking how you could have mediated the disagreement?

I need more info for that sick kid story. How long have they been separated? On how amicable terms are they (not all divorces are messy)? Have there been other instances of negligence or is this the only one? Has he shown signs of being unable to handle overwhelming sensations before? I honestly can't take this at face value because I get overwhelmed from smells both "good" and nasty, and adding to the vomit doesn't help. My grandfather had the same issue, it's not about being a child, but it's hard to get others to empathize when you just get buzzwords thrown around. The post doesn't even mention if he tried or not.

Paying child support while being uninvolved with said child is still abandonment. My ex pays $50 a month for child support and that doesn’t even cover 1/4 of monthly costs for my kid. My partner and I go through just shy of $100 a month on diapers alone. There is still insurance, food, clothes, etc. each month And before anyone starts arguing that he should be allowed to walk away. He intentionally got me pregnant knowing that although I’m pro choice I’m not comfortable getting an abortion and I would’ve been disowned from my family had I gone with adoption. He was excited up until I was about 6 months pregnant and then told me he was unsure about whether or not he really wanted to be a dad and blocked me on social media the day before my due date.

About the first story. It could be a strong chance that the husband was an alcoholic or a recovering addict. And she didnt want go risk him getting into drinking that day But that does not make OP a bad person as she didnt know their personal things. She was just a worker. The wife and husband should have discussed this more endepth before ordering But the wife is 100% in the wrong when she returned demanding for money back. That was an entitled move so she sucks here for that move there.

Usually and totally anonymous? Not true especially if you’re trying to get paid for doing that. Because if he goes to court then you’re gonna have to testify. Depending on where you live, I’m not 100% honest, but those payouts have to be public record right?

Story about going celibate. Her issue, her decision yet she keeps saying “ WE “. Yes it’s their relationship but she is making all the demands and has only two choices, no sex to you feel like it or leave. Glad YOU got it together and he was patient for four plus months or was he. Question, if he had sex with another woman would OP dump him. If you take the physical part out of a relationship without good reason ( which this is not ), I’m thinking pregnancy or physical injury. Just let the person go. You are extremely selfish to ask this for the reason you described. YTA x 2

Where are the rest of your sons ashes? It takes very little. RETURN the urn NOW!! The man who was trapped by his ex, he left because he KNEW he would not have been good for any of them. He paid the child support. He never wanted kids. Does she have the right to not invite his wife? yes. Is that rude? also yes. You do not invite 1/2 of a couple. Does he have the right to berate her? No.

If op didn’t want kids, even if it was accidental, he have right to leave bcz mother also have right to abort or raise a child. Op was obligated to pay child support and he did. Kids wanted contact with him after they turn 18. I am sure their mother have said something about op and his wife to their kids.
