Oo I got something for the subreddit! My brother and I got gift cards and we made a agreement that he would buy animal crossing and I would buy a gift card so he could buy the Pokémon expansion pack. I agreed and a week passed. That week was super chill, but the weeks leading up to the releasing day of animal crossing sucked. My brother treated me like I was some sort of maid! He would constantly bother me and try to get into fights with me. I was buy something for HIS switch. And if I didn’t get to play the game it would be much of a lose for me. Cause he only lets me play games after he beats them. Like not even when he not on the switch. He HAS to beat the game first. I told him I wouldn’t buy the gift card. He obviously thought I was kidding. I wanted to give him a second chance and I did. But he kept pestering me even after my multiple warnings. So on the day I went to buy the gift cards I didn’t buy it. I bought my self a new charger and came home. My brother was infuriated that I didn’t buy the gift card. I find it funny how i have three sets of grandparents. One who are helping me pay for college/housing to make up for anything i cant provide my self yet. One who never gave me a dime have trouble remembering me sometimes but genuinely love me. And one who lives far away but visit when they can and send me cards and gifts from their bakery and i love and appreciate all of of them. Weird how that works.

I have a cosmetology license, and definitely can relate with that cosmetologist in training. People sometimes ask me to just cut their hair for free or color it for them for free. It’s already hard enough to work in this industry, but having your friends and family (and sometimes friends of friends/family of friends/friends of family) suddenly think that they can get their hair, nails, or makeup done for free gets annoying. When first starting out as a cosmetologist, you usually make minimum wage +tips (if they decide to tip). I don’t mind helping a few people out, but I don’t want my services to go unpaid all of the time. People downplay the time, effort, and cost of what I do when they want something done for basically nothing. I’ve done my sister’s friend’s hair for way less than it would cost them at a salon. I had to bleach their hair from their natural dark brown, so a blonde. Then I had to make the blonde into blue. It took the whole day to do her hair. I had to bleach her hair twice to get it light enough, had to make sure that the hair didn’t just break off or die while lightening it, and in the end she didn’t even like the blue once it was on, nor did she want to do the upkeep for it. Her mom was nice enough to pay me around $60, and I’m beyond thankful for that. But the whole process would have been close to $150 at the least. I used to work at a salon & spa, where I did mostly nails and facials. You have no idea how many people would bring their kids with them and basically use us as a babysitting service while they get their service done. I usually don’t mind watching the kids, but I definitely don’t want to spend more than an hour trying to keep a toddler entertained. Why do people think that having me doing their makeup isn’t worth money? They think that since anyone can do makeup, that it isn’t worth paying for. Let me tell you, I did not go through all of that training and learning just to have someone think that applying makeup of them should be just a quick process that isn’t work money. I can sympathize with artists on that aspect. I’m sorry to all of the artists and cosmetologists that have to deal with Choosing Beggars and Karens.
