Reminds me of a quote Rebecca Sugar had regarding White Diamond as a character. That White Diamond presents herself as so confident about her claims and identity, and yet ultimately it's so fragile that her entire world view is shattered by Steven merely existing. This guy acts so smug, yet ultimately he's so weak that his claims are melted by simply... going outside and seeing women succeed at things.

To someone from another religion all the things about satan, jesus, god and the holy spirit definitely sounds like polytheism. In fact in mayan communities (yes they still exist, there are millions of them), christianity has basically been printed over the old beliefs. But that's only in name. Angels or saints basically replaced their spirits and gods, keeping their powers and their roles. So some kind of christian polytheism

"No chick in any world or universe could defeat anyone from Dragonball universe" apparently ignoring that several of Dragon Ball's strongest characters are themselves women. I guess we're just... ignoring the entirety of the Android saga, as well as basically all of the Tournament of Power, an event whose fights were majorly shaped by several absurdly powerful women.
@The_Gardara
@The_Gardara 2 ай бұрын
Dragonball power scalers are not a smart bunch, example despite the claim that Dragonball characters move at the speed of light being disproven multiple times by many well educated people using various methods, and the series itself never even saying anything close to that notion, they will ignore that and insist that when characters seem to vanish while they are fighting that must mean they are moving at the speed of light, ignoring that some characters can track these fights and there is a large margin between the point where the untrained eye isn't able to keep up with movements and the speed of light, but they ignore this because outside of simply saying "Beerus would use Hakai" their only argument of why any Dragonball character would win in a fight is because they would just speed blitz their opponent, because Dragonball doesn't portray strength in any comparable metric to stack these characters up to others outside their universe so they genuinely have no other arguments, debating with them is pointless.
@fiascothe63rd
@fiascothe63rd 2 ай бұрын
@@The_Gardara Yeah, the claim that any major Dragon Ball character (aside from Hit, who can manipulate time, and Arale, a guest character from a gag comedy who can do whatever makes the scene funnier) can move at the speed of light based solely upon the fact that you can’t see them move is ridiculous. Context for the dad wanting to be in the room while his daughter is examined thing. Really, really awful parents do stuff like that as a means of making sure their daughters in specific aren't having sex. Which is usually the only reason to get a smear done at that age, but whatever. It's a scare tactic so the girl can't, say, ask for birth control or about STD testing or abortions or sexual wellness in general. It's a way to scare your kid into not having sex, at least before marriage. Which should be something doctors are immediately reporting to someone because hot damn is that weird. That's the sort of situation where I'd get into a physical altercation with the dad if I was present.

An easy way to disprove, "Thank a straight person for your existence," is the fact that many gay and trans people from older generations remained closeted and felt pressured into heteronormative relationships, which often included having children. When I was about 6/7 I got in an argument with my teacher. We were learning about fair trade and we had to draw bananas growing. Now, my dad has lived all over the world and used to help on a banana farm, so he told me how they grew and I had seen a banana tree in a greenhouse near where I lived. I knew they grew on trees in bunches. The teacher was CONVINCED they grew out of the ground like carrots. So, I, being stubborn and knowing I was right, was the only child to draw a banana tree. I was so mad that she kept telling me off, and she even marked me down for it! If you’re going to teach something in a classroom, at least Google it first!

9:39 So I'm an ELCA Christian (a very leftist branch of prodestant Christianity) And I was arguing with a "Catholic" (they were Catholic, but one of those people that weponizes their religion) that trans people aren't the spawn of satan, and It came up in discussion that I don't belive in a litteral satan or hell (I do however believe in god jesus and heaven) (I belive that sin is part of humanity's ability to choose wich isn't inherently a bad thing, but its not "because of satan") He got do flabbergasted that I didn't belive in hell and I belived that all people were forgiven and went to heaven. He of course asked what insentive I have to be good and I was like "Just being a good person? Following jesus's wishes? Making the workd a better place for everyone?" And apparently he didn't belive that someone could just be a good person without the threat if hell, like... my guy... what????? He litterally said "If I became enlightened to know that all people went to heaven no matter what, I would just commit every sin all the time for my own pleasure" So now it's my turn to be stunned, and when I called him out for basically admitting to be a psychopath he said "well I wouldn't actually because I know that would make me go to hell" So of course I reiterate "even if hell doesn't exist, wouldn't you still be a good person?" And he litterally responded that he wouldn't do good if there was "no immortal consequence" So uhhhhhhh, just be a good person. Any sane person can and will be a good person. Religion shouldn't be the only reason you are not a mass murderer. (Also you can belive in whatever religion you belive, I don't care if you belive in hell, but you should be able to belive that people can still be good even if they don't belive in eternal damnation)

47:27 Just so the world can be a little more informed 1. Sunlight DOES cause cancer because light is made up of different waves with different levels of energies. The higher levels of energies can disrupt our DNA which can cause cancer amongst other diseases. 2. I’m assuming Vitamin D means makes Vitamin D. No, you are doing that, light just helps provide energy for it but even then, you can get Vitamin D from other sources. 3. Blood pressure is a result of your blood concentration, pumping of your heart, and whether your blood vessels are blocked, none of which is directly related to sunlight 4. ATP is produced by cellular respiration which is the breakdown of carbohydrates and most importantly doesn’t involve sunlight as a reactant. Technically sunlight plays a role in that it’s what makes carbohydrates in photosynthesis so in the grand scheme it does, but the way it’s framed is misleading 5. Melatonin actually has issues being produced in light as the hormone helps you sleep. Likely because we used to live by the sun and so the sun would indicate time to wake up and lack of it would mean sleep. 6. You don’t metabolize melanin. Melanin is skin pigmentation. Sunlight can help prompt your body to make more of it to protect your body, see point 1 as why that’s important, so metabolizing it is counterintuitive for the body. 7. They’re actually right about sunlight and endorphins, but it’s not like sunlight is the ONLY thing helps release them 8. This is more subjective and not a concrete fact 9. That’s your thyroid and pituitary gland, not sunlight, as hormones are secreted to regulate bodily chemicals that are a result of your diet and emotional states. 10. See point 3. Grade: 2/10 which feels generous for what seems to really be a “sunlight doesn’t cause cancer and actually good for you and you don’t need medicine”.

Give it how much of the dragon Ball series is about female empowerment and that women are definitely not pushovers I'm confused. Like did the guy actually read the stories for real? I'm pretty sure that if Goku was real and actually read a comment like this he'd go on a mission to find someone who is female that could beat him specifically to spite the jerk. I mean Goku's already obsessed with finding people stronger than himself so it wouldn't be much for him to specifically try to find a woman to fight just to prove a point. Half the stories are him fighting people to fight because somebody said they could never beat him or that they would definitely beat him.

I used to work in a laboratory where we occasionally did tests that included time (in seconds) as a measurement. When the assistant manager of our department first showed me how to do these tests, I was initially confused, thinking they had a special stopwatch that counted time differently. After a couple examples, I clicked the stopwatch on my multifunctional wristwatch at the start and stop of a test to double check. I had to pull out some old test papers, check some calculations, and then speak to our manager about how this particular type of test had been being performed incorrectly - for probably a year or 2 - because the assistant manager thought 2:34 (for example) on the stopwatch meant 234 seconds. The correct calculations didn’t change the results a *ton*, but geez... I expect a Quality Assurance lab to get things correct. The instructions at the top of the test form even explained the part about multiplying by 60.

19:03 Hell, down gets kinda funky when you don't have a horizon line to orient yourself with. I saw an excellent demonstration of this when I went caving on a boy scout trip. We got to a specific landmark where we could rest before going deeper, and the guide pointed out a railing on a tunnel that, to our eyes, went down. He asked us to describe the scene, and we all said that it looked like there was a decline in the tunnel, a pretty steep one at that. He pulled out a marble, and asked us what direction we thought the marble would go if he put it on the railing. A little perplexed, we answered that it should probably go down. Much to our surprise, the marble went UP the slope of the railing. All of this was a lesson in just how deceptive the appearance of a natural tunnel can be. Without a horizon line, what is up and what is down can become very difficult to fully discern. It left an impact on me, it was really something to watch.

First of all, that sounds like an absolutely rad demonstration by the guide on your Boy Scout trip. Okay, at 7:20. If he is going to disregard modern anime, he should remember sailor moon was around in the 90s. A lot of people forget that she is one of the most powerful anime characters. Especially if you consider that Sailor Cosmos (Sailor Moon's ultimate form) can literally create and destroy universes, goku wouldn't stand a chance.

If you think about it, all directions we made up don't exist in space. It's just endless, with the directions being "towards" or "away from" or "around" any given point. There's no up or down, no left or right, no north, south, east, or west. It's just space. Endless space.

It’s actually true that sunscreen CAN lower or even block vitamin D activation (not absorbing) in the human body… rarely, indirectly and not because of any “chemical” inside of it, but because its PRIMARY FUNCTION: sunscreen reduces the amount of UV absorbed by the body. Higher grade and amount of sunscreen, higher the reduction. That because TOO MUCH UV are damaging for skin health in many way, so you are supposed to use (the right kind and amount) of sunscreen when you get particularly exposed to them, like when you are sunbathing in a summer sunny day. But at the same time, the human body need a small amount of UV in the process of activating of the vitamin D. If you use for EXTREMELY long periods of time too much of the incorrect kind of sunscreen for the activity you are performing, or you just stay all the time at home far away from sunlight, you can incur in vitamin D deficiency despite having a balanced diet. Still getting that problem because of sunscreen is an extremely rare evenience, it’s a lot more common for people that have nigh shifts and that spend the remaining time indoor far from windows. Or for people living beyond the artic circle where the “winter night” can last for weeks, and there isn’t much daytime for an entire year.

I will die on the hill that not all men men are stronger than all women. My best friend is a quite strong and masculine lesbian, I'm for a change quite phisicly weak and gay(we just flip every stereotype aroud, even our teacher so many years ago laughed with us at that, good old days). And she literally since we were 13(she's 25, I'm 24 now) she could lift me without a problem or win with me every hand wresteling contest, and to this day she can! So I will never understand the people that say "men are stronger", it's straight up bullshit and people who say that in their lives have only met one woman, and it's their mother.

I have gotten some advice from my mom on how to know whether fruit is ripe or not: with a watermelon you need to knock on it like knocking on a door and if it sounds hollow, then it’s ripe. Also with a pineapple you need to smell the bottom and smell and if it smells like pineapple then it’s ripe, or even better: you need to grab a leave on the top closest to the fruit and if it comes off easily then it’s ripe. Just a bit of advice! :)

I heard the pineapple thing from a sister in my ward, who held a luau for the Relief Society. My mom asked her where she got her pineapple because it was so much sweeter than the Walmart stuff. She told her that trick for determining ripeness, therefore sweetness.

Also pineapples are a little soft on the bottom. And citrus should feel heavy, not light. Yup . I think the people who made that video grew up on processed food and have no clue what real food looks like before it’s prepared in a factory

Knocking on watermelons has given me pretty mixed results so far. For me, checking the field spot (the "pale" spot where the fruit sits on the ground) works way better. The more yellow or even orange it is, the better the taste! Additional points if it has crusty areas, or veins. Rounder watermelons tend to be sweeter than elongated ones. And the peel should be dull, not shiny, with a dry stem. One that's a lot heavier than it looks is dense, so very juicy and crisp.

23:34 The concept exists, it's called a hydrogen fuel cell. Most public chargers are speed chargers that are not good on the battery, but are meant for charging to full in 30 minutes. Electric cars come with a charger to hook up in your garage to the 30 amp connector for a slower charge that assumes you're just gonna run errands that won't use the whole battery.

The other one that annoys me is "have your cake and eat it, too." Because technically, that is the order that you would eat a cake in; you first have to have a cake before you can eat it. @@MogamiKyoko13 "Have" means "keep it in their possession" in this context. Not "obtain". So no, that actually doesn't work. You cannot keep the cake while also eating it. It's also concurrent, not sequential. "Have and eat", not "have and then eat".
