That poor, poor woman whose AH husband was secretly recording her and uploading images to a porn site. What an absolute horror of a situation. The betrayal is unimaginable. What kind of horrible person does that to a wife he’s supposed to love? I’m beyond disgusted! Hope she gets jail time for him, full custody of their kid and sue him for as much money as she can.

Yes that was a great outcome for the shopkeeper and the assaulted girl. The fact someone is not fully mentally functioning does not excuse them assaulting other people. The 19 year old is probably a big guy so imagine this girl’s terror at being assaulted and groped by him? She knew nothing about his mental state. Glad the brother and his family saw the light.

@@GrowingWithFig Both people in a relationship should have a separate account with at least a little money; most of these stories might have the man cleaning out the accounts, but if it’s joint, really whichever partner gets to it first gets the $$$. It can be abused by either partner. And, unfortunately, you don’t always know the person you marry as much as you think you do, or they change in ways you never thought possible. So it’s always good to have an individual fund. Honestly, in her shoes, as soon as he started becoming emotionally distant, I would have made sure to take at least 50% of that account.

As a lawyer in Texas the animal abuse advice from the police was BS. Leaving an animal with someone for 3 days does not automatically make the animal that person's, particularly when there is a contract and agreement as to ownership. Too often here the police will say that something is a civil matter or needs to be handled outside of the police department. One has to be insistant and go above and above to whoever is the highest supervisor at the police department. Also if animal control saw the threats to behead the cat and walked away, that's a problem obviously and again not in line with Texas law or animal control's operation mandate.

The guy getting held for 62 days over a crime he didn’t commit deserves compensation, anyone that thinks otherwise is crazy. Why didn’t they do their job and confirm his identity by looking at his ID during the arrest and booking process. This could have all been avoided, especially since the guy that actually did it is a felon. All they needed to do is check the ID and make sure all the information matches what they have on file for the felon.

When my daughter was younger, her mother (that had custody), would leave her with me for weeks at a time, with no way of contacting her or knowing when she would pick our child back up. I attempted a few times to get custody, but every time, Judges kept custody with her mother. One time they raised my child support payments to her mother as the end result of me bringing up the issue of custody to the court! Once she reached school age, I had to endure 6 years of being a non-custodial father, every other weekend visits(more often if permitted). Eventually her mother was arrested(drugs), and I was awarded temporary custody, then finally few months later, full custody, after her mother failed to show up for the court date. What is sad, is that if she showed up, I probably would not of received full custody, just because of the backward thinking of the State I live in.

Jimmy's relative should make sure he "bangs on" constantly about how moving Jimmy out of the environment which he knows well and can cope with would remove any and all "quality of life" which he already has. Courts and care are fairly big on "quality of life" issues, so if you can point out that at the moment he has many physical and social activities which keep him (and his mind) occupied and that apart from his food and heating issues, which would be relatively easy to fix, he looks after himself quite well, you'd have a good chance of getting the protective services to allow him to remain where he is. That's especially true if it's obvious that he has an appropriate level of supervision. That's a very important point: Make sure you also make the point (and again, repeat it constantly) that he only needs occasional supervision to ensure he's eating right and someone to ensure his bills are paid on time. It might also be a good idea to mention that not only will this keep Jimmy's quality of life as high as possible, but it's cheaper for the state to keep him in his own home instead of paying a lot of money to keep him in an institution where he'll be miserable and have no quality of life.

When I was the same age as OP (the banned brother from the shop), my older brother who is learning disabled, pulled a six year old behind a store and pretended to have sex with her. They were both fully dressed, but that must have been horrifying and very traumatizing for that child. I was a naïve and stupid kid and felt that my brother didn't understand, and there was no "penetration", so why was everyone making such a fuss. It took ME a couple of years to realize just how traumatizing such an ASSAULT was to anyone, let alone a six year old who didn't even know her attacker (or any six year old). OP learned far quicker than I that defending a disabled relative isn't always the best solution if the disabled relative is in the wrong. I am glad they were hard on my brother, as he appears to have learned his lesson (though he lives with an older sister just to be sure). I feel bad when I think what a callous teen I had appeared to be. I didn't think further than about my brother, whom always seemed to get a bad rap, but in this case I SHOULD have been thinking about his victim. Good job, OP, on learning and growing and maturing. Hopefully you and yours can make your brother understand what he did was wrong and should never be repeated.

Tbh, there are grown ass, neurotypical men who do shit like that, and based on ops initial reaction, I have no doubt that it has something to do with how they were raised. So, no, I highly doubt it has much, if anything to do with being autistic, or generally neurodivergent, it has to do with their parents not holding their sons accountable, if not encouraging bad behaviour towards women. So, yeah, even if they weren't taught better, that isn't the fault of the victim, and I sincerely hate that it's a genuine cop out that many people accept.

What right did the contractor have to cut down a tree on OP's brother's property? Why wasn't the mother watching her children so that they did not run into the street? He didn't hit them if they ran into his car. The mother was negligent and was covering her negligence. If people cause trouble at a shop they can be banned and the brother needs to understand that he was wrong to assault a woman like this. It is not good to use his autism as an excuse for his brother'a behaviour. No matter what disabilities a person has they still need to be taught right from wrong. Saying the person doesn't understand because of their disability and expecting other people to put with their behaviour is wrong. I have had tinnitus since I was about 27. I am now in my 60's. I have spoken to doctors about this in the past but they showed no interest and just said there was nothing that could be done. I have it 24/7 and I am used to it by now. I am glad that OP realized he was wrong and that he got his parents to stop from suing the owner and that they all apologized. Autistic or not it doesn't give the right to force someone to kiss them or the right to grope. If the owner hadn't ban the autistic brother, it would be showing that the owner doesn't care about the safety of his customers or employees. Also that he condones what the brother did. Brother needs to learn that his actions has consequences no matter what.

I have children with ASD I messed up when my eldest was little and didn't respect his wishes when he didn't want hugs, I was wrong. I have learned, and now I hope I'm teaching them respect for bodily autonomy naturally, like I want hugs and they don't so... I don't get hugs, sucks, but hey, they have a right not to be touched! Sometimes I get a hi five, sometimes I don't. They own their bodies and I try to teach them bodily respect. I love my kids, Edit; I had to hug and kiss adult family as a child, that's a great way to teach children to have no self respect and that their "no!" doesn't matter. Autism doesn't make a creeper not teaching that no means no does.

Here in SC , it’s unlawful to cut down trees,(unless they are dying, stopping right of way, things like that ) No tree bigger than 12 inches in diameter, fines are given ....but even so trees are irreplaceable ! What’s unfair is home builders just clear the lands, had beautiful 100 + year old oak trees just cut down for road repairs, it was truly heartbreaking !!! Was all done overnight ? Best to ask forgiveness than permission !! Fines are not enough ! ,

ive always had ringing in my ears (tinnitus) since i was a kid (mostly in left ear) so thought this was normal and happens to everyone, i had a lot of ear infections in my left ear so its probably from that but the ringing dont bother me, as ive grown used to it, its annoying, but just so used to it and grown to deal with it, like my migraines, lol. as long as i dont deal with the vibrations again im good, it started vibrating randomly couple months ago when was on the phone and when people talked to me and it hurt a lot, lasted i think 3 days

I don’t know what chain the couple was staying at, but when I worked for holiday inn upon checking in we had paperwork that stated if you were caught smoking in the room, you could be charged a $500 fine. With that being said, in order to charge that fine we had to have some sort of physical proof, we couldn’t just go on smell alone. One couple left almost half a joint in the sink on top of the room smelling heavily of marijuana so it was easy to charge them.

The 'autistic brother assaults a girl' poster wasn't wrong for defending their brother, this just defended the wrong points. There is still a lot of discrimination and demonizing of autistic people, so OP would have learned to defend his brother as he grew up. I'm not saying anything about the consequences was wrong here, but I can still see why OP defended the brother so vehemently. OP is a great person for going to his parents and speaking up that they've basically been babying his brother for far too long.

The hospice care story- I worked in a similar care service and some landlords will have issues with someone being in the home 24hrs a day even when the tenant needs 24hr care. The landlord/HOA can't do anything if you have Doctor statements and the care working has their own residence somewhere else. Some landlords/HOAs don't care if you are dying or disabled they can be cruel. I don't understand people with no empathy for others. And yes I fully listened to the story and realize it was the roommate but thought I would share similar experiences. I hope it helps someone

That's right. The mother's drinking, hard-partying, reckless driving, drug addiction, and the child abandonment will literally get CPS involved; if she does that crap again, and leaves the kid at home, with no adult supervision, CPS will have to place him in the foster care system, or with another family.

The Walmart story: Unfortunately how they found the ps4 is a common scam and without a receipt there was no chance anyone would approve any sort of solution. This is why you keep receipts of all high dollar and electronic purchases in case something happens or its found out that it is default which happens sometimes. It's not just Walmart but all stores would not allow such a return because of how often that scenario is used as a scam and the high dollar price. If it was approved, whoever approved that would be in a ton of trouble.

OP should definitely contact the ACLU. OP might also want to consider seeing if a general or civil litigation attorney might agree to take a case on contingency against the PD, DA, arresting officers, and/or PD (to me, as described, all failed OP and taxpayers); if moving to this, though, I'd suggest hiring one from another city, if possible. If the ACLU rejects the case for some odd reason, they still may offer a recommendation/referral to a private attorney. But...imo, after you deal with that matter and/or afUter obtaining his attorney's okay, OP should also file a grievance against (at least) his public defender with the Wisconsin State Bar Association.M

17:14 being in the Spectrum does not allow you to commit crimes. The girl could easily file a police report for this action. I doubt the brother has never been told in school that it is never okay to touch another person without their consent. This is not just a social norm that he may not be familiar with. This is a law that is taken very seriously in most places.

100% I am most fascinated over the fact that OP and his parents thinks that committing sekksual assaults are totally acceptable bEcAuSe aUtIsM. The parents failed the brother really, really badly, he has enough problems dealing with his disability, the last thing he needs is to get a reputation in his neighborhood as being a r ▪︎ pist, creep and a potentially dangerous man _thanks to his parents inability to raise him with healthy boundaries. I feel bad for him, he is a victim of their (non) parenting._
