Kind of like how tuition is only as high as it is due to greedy colleges realizing they’re guaranteed the loaned amount that students take out so they just keep on increasing the cost to push their possible gains from the guaranteed loans. Also got people who go to these overpriced 80k a year ivy league colleges and universities who then spend their days complaining about the cost, meanwhile I went to a much smaller university where almost everyone got a scholarship over 9k-18k a year leaving only about 2k in tuition to be paid per year. My family at most spent about 12k for my four years of college (with scholarship and accounting for meal card and books).

At 8:01, that’s literally how I do every single multiplication problem in my head. I know the perfect squares and from there I just do any odd numbers in my head. My favorite number is 49 just because it’s 7*7 and 7 is my lucky number, though also because 49 sounds nice. The way I do math fast is by addition. I missed the entire division unit and have only recently learned how to do it. Multiplication only works because I like that there’s three different ways to write the symbol. Addition works because it was the first thing I ever learned and multiplication took a while. Instead of doing multiplication on my tests, I used to make huge addition tables of 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 to do 7*7. I loved it. I could do the small numbers and adding was much more appealing to me than multiplication but I’ve slowly gotten used to it. I think I’m the only kid in my math class who actually likes what we’re learning this year.
