I had wondered about Stan Lee's personal feelings about a gay Spider-Man, especially since LGBT+ became more and more accepted during his final years. It's nice to know that while Peter Parker Spider-Man himself is always going to be a straight male because he was created to be a heterosexual non-queer guy, Stan Lee himself was never opposed to the idea of a gay Spider-Man just like he never opposed to a black Spider-Man because Miles was a way to "make the world color-blind" aka racial acceptance because it was the right thing to do. We have so many Spider-Man varieties (hell we have a cartoon pig Spider-man), the time will come for that.

I wouldn't mind Peter Parker being bisexual though. He could still lean more towards women and have a clear preference. That's pretty common. I'm not surprised this isn't all that common though, considering that bisexuality is still treated like a phase or something fake. Now, something that _would_ be neat to see is Captain America and Iron Man, as two men, start a proper relationship. Because man, the chemistry is there.

@@Ikajo I think that some degree of bisexuality is a lot more common than people often like to admit. Hell, some thought of it being "a phase" could be people rejecting themselves in the same way that some of the people who say "being gay is a choice" think that because they feel homosexual attraction, have to choose not "be gay" to fit the bigotry they were taught, and think that EVERYONE must go through that themselves. Basically, people are biased because they think "Well, *I* got over it!", maybe not understanding that just because they lean more towards one preference or another doesn't mean they suddenly don't have bisexual feelings.

The best variant of the whole "Give a man a fish..." saying is the one Terry Pratchett put in the book "Jingo" (I believe). It goes: "When you give a man a place by the fire he's warm for a day, but when you set him on fire he's warm for the rest of his life." I think JoyousPeas is also pretty neutral, and then having a neutral pfp and you’re good, nobody assumes anything. I only ever got yelled at when I was playing Mercy (highly feminized character that often is played by somebody’s GF) on Overwatch for the Orisa having more damage than my healing… despite the fact I had been pocketing the Orisa and boosting her and playing riskier bc she can basically heal herself-

This is not quite true. Or at least it’s misleading. She only believes in euthanasia for domesticated animals like dogs that can’t live without us, especially for breeds like pugs that have been selectively bred into oblivion. Overpopulation is a severe problem, and she thinks it’s more humane to euthanize them than to have them live out their whole lives in a shelter (many animals are never adopted). She’s not like…. saying that all animals should be euthanized. I personally am more a fan of spaying and neutering dogs and cats and banning the selective breeding of dogs to have health issues. I understand why she would think it would be better to euthanize certain breeds, but I wouldn’t go that far.

It always boggles my mind when people insist that a few hours of self-guided learning is the same as years of academic study. I once got into an argument with my aunt who insisted that she knew more about the Middle Ages than I did. Because this ONE book she read was better than my 8+ years of undergradate and post-graduate study. She literally told me that she knew more from this one book than I did with my Masters and more than three years towards my Ph.D. Then again, I once was attacked by a bunch of guys on a site because I commented that Maid Marion was not part of the earliest Robin Hood stories, first recorded in the 13th century. She was a much later addition to the legend. OMG, the vitriol! Then again, that basically degenerated into - I've never heard that before so it must be false! And, she's in the Disney version! And yes, people seem to think that that was a logical argument. The Dinsey movie. Oh, and a couple said that I had missed a comma in my comment, so I clearly did not have an MA.

They decided to stop paying for it and I needed it because I was going to college and even had some online classes I was taking. They didn't want to discuss it with me even though I offered to help pay the fees for getting behind in payments so I went behind their back and got my own wifi account set up. I changed the password and hid the router and modem so they couldn't use it. I loved hearing them complain about how expensive it was to use their phones as hotspots 🥰

Adding to your bit about “we like to focus on the bad”, I have a theory that we focus on negativity from others because we are also programmed to be cooperative and seek acceptance. Rejection from a group used to be a death sentence, so we’re hardwired to desire social harmony. One random internet troll still makes our brain go “People hate me D:” and make a bigger deal out of it than usual. It could also be because we live in a world that has worn down our ability to properly manage our emotions since we are stressed all the damned time. Who knows.

While this is a fun thought it isn't actually true. Psychology varies from person to person and we still have sooooooo much we don't know about psychology or how the mind works. There is no clear evidence as to why people react the way they do to negativity and not everyone reacts the same to it. People like me can just ignore it or power through it, but others may break down from it and others still may just be outraged by it. Humans are complex and capable of many different reactions to the same thing.

Also about my parents everything that was said was put on a file wich I received and my parents lied and exaggerated it because for autism there was 1 small test and then that story telling and for that test the results were I didn’t have autism same thing from the conversation with the teacher

Star lord is bi, Thor is aswell (or something). Stan Lee literally does not care so long as it’s not disrespectful or just downright weird. He’s a huge sweetheart and probably looks down on us all and sips his wine in joy. Also where tf are people getting their takes from?? Heck, Stan Lee loved the Japanese version of Spider-Man. Even though it has literally nothing in common with the character beyond the name and design. Buds, Stan Lee WAS biphobic... He said "one sex at a time ought to be enough for anybody", claimed Andrew Garfield was suggesting making Peter Parker bi/pan for attention and controversy after the interviewer was like "where do you think that thought came from? do you think he was just trying to include another audience?", and implied it was bad and "making a issue out of it" to even explicitly depict gay characters. @@Reverend_Salem It's a bacterial infection that primarily grows on the fleece of sheep, and infects the soil and etc around where those sheep live. The bacterial spores can live for a long time dormant in the soil. Given that it's a biologically-sourced infectious agent, you can develop and deploy a vaccine to help your immune system kill it off before it can cause harm.

Congrats to 1 million! the "no alcohol before 21" rule in the US makes sense ... imagine, the desaster whe nall the 18 year old gun owner would also be allowed to drink
@lepidotos
@lepidotos 2 жыл бұрын
It used to be 18, but MADD got it bumped up due to all of the teenage drunk driving incidents. 21 is a better age to start than 18 in other ways, though; there is observed brain development stunting in teenagers who drink (Lees, Squeglia et. al. 2020 -- PMC7183385). If we're going based on just objective reality, 26 or 27 would be the "best" age to start drinking but discouraging the use of alcohol (as we're doing currently with tobacco) would be ideal.

@@lepidotos and what is the affect on the brain of being in military combat? Should the enrolment age be over 26 too? Also 21 is not to do with car accidents, it is to do with puritanical culture and abstinence self righteousness.

"Skinny teas" are usually a mix of senna, a natural laxative, and stimulants, and sometimes an unlisted often untested "proprietary blend" and occasionally they'll contain some soluble fiber. Senna is a bit strong but great for occasional constipation and only that. I've used it before, it's effective but can give you abdominal cramps and nausea. Recommend drinking before bed, brewed with chamomile if you're using it for the first time, along with a glass of warm water and NOT with anything containing stimulants. Stimulants will make the side effects worse. Do not use stimulant laxatives, like senna, or laxatives at all for that matter to lose weight. That is dangerous, will dehydrate you and will only give you temporary results, mostly because of water and poo leaving your system. Yes, you won't be as "bloated" because your intestines always have a little waste in them and literally wringing that out of them will make you "feel" skinnier and will make your tummy cave a little. We all have water in our fat cells, yes, that's supposed to be there, though lack of movement and a diet high in sugar and/or sodium and certain health conditions that are often uncontrollable, will make you retain water (ie you feel and look "puffy" or in some cases swollen). Losing this will also make you feel and maybe even look a little skinnier, but it's definitely temporary. Again, only use senna if you are planning on doing some, potentially very uncomfortable, pre-colonoscopy type cleansing of your intestines.

Small nitpick Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.

True story: I was driving through the mountains in Santa Barbra a couple years back. We stopped at the side of the road to see how far the lake dropped and look around a bit. A lady pulls up and asks us to take a photo of her. We say sure & she goes on a rock and we take a pic of her in a meditation pose. She was positing it on some social media. She thanked us and ran off, no meditation happened. People post some fake stuff.
