spot on with overwatch 2. I don't think I ever seen a game so successfully squander its communities good will then punish you even further for continuing to still care. It's actually impressive you can have a game with so much talent put into it and it is not worth playing. I used to think Fortnite was the depressing manifestation of the current state of the games industry but the thing is Fortnite just loves money, Overwatch loves money AND has active contempt for its players.

yeah, no, overwatch 2 is not the worst game of the year imho. i’ve been saying it for years, but “just don’t buy the cosmetics.” i get that there are a lot of complicated elements to things like battle passes, like their link with gambling addictions, but for (i would assume) most people, they’re not gonna care enough to buy them. and i’ve heard so many people say they got rid of characters like torbjorn and bastion, but they’re still in the game. maybe in the first few weeks/month, they weren’t there, but since late 2022 when i started playing, everyone’s there and accounted for. so yeah, for the “worst game of the year,” it’s still the most fun game of the whole list and the one with the most good qualities …oh, and the porn is still really-

The really messed up thing about Overwatch 2 is something that most people I've seen talk about it forget to bring up. This is not the first time Activision Blizzard has ruined a GOOD game by reinventing it and make the previous version unplayable. Anyone remember Warcraft Reforged? I seriously can't believe they had the stones to do this crap again, nor can I believe that so many people overlook that this is now an established pattern of behavior from them.

8:31 The reason Postal 4 was advertised as the official sequel to Postal 2 was because Postal 3 was barely even an official game. An economic collapse during development lead the devs to give the game over to a bunch of Russian developers to finish and they absolutely ruined it. Running With Scissors, Postal's publishers, even took the game off of their official store, and recently removed it from the Steam store due to DRM issues. Civvie11's Postal 3 video explains it pretty well.

All that came out was a shitty port of the older titles for switch that were CLOUD versions, a mobile game that was said to be released in closed beta this year except to get absolutely nothing, and what… a teaser for KH4 that’s not even going to come out for another three or four years? KH got shafted hard this year, and even so, Square also released a Crisis Core remake, to which I have to say… WHO ASKED? Like sure it was decent and all, but its not like Crisis Core was super important to the FF7 lore, but I forget now that the remakes are trying to make Crisis Core cannon even though it NEVER existed in the original game to begin with

I think you made a great point with Martha is Dead. You can build a game - even a horror game - around mental health and it can still be great and not insulting! Look at the way Silent Hill 2 deals with trauma, or even something more recent like The Cat Lady. But ending your game with a graphic, interactive self-harm scene for a mental illness plot twist that also has a million holes in it is not the way to go. It feels like they just threw controversial scenes and content in for the free marketing it got them.

I would've rather Overwatch 2 stayed $60 with all the skins and cosmetics being able to be unlocked for free. The gameplay itself is fun, which is why I still play it, but so many of it's flaws need to be addressed or else the game is gonna die quickly.

The sad truth is that the game died because the funds dried up so fast after the controversy of star wars BF2 EA and with the OWL dropping like a sack of potatoes, the blizzard hire ups didn't think its worth it until jeff decided to reinvent the wheel with a sequel. Honestly I feel like we haven’t received as many terrible games this year as other years. Like I know it’s easy to rag on Blizzard for bad business practices and Scarlet and Violet and how unpolished they can be, but in terms of actually games that were negatively received for their actual quality, the only two I can really name off the top of my head are Babylon’s Fall and Gotham Knights. I even looked up articles naming other bad games of 2022 and didn’t even recognize most of them, and also learned Diablo Immortal came out this year.

Chocobo GP was honestly the biggest stab in the chest for me this year, since the original Chocobo Racing on the PS1 was one of the first games I've ever played. I was so excited when they announced it was finally getting a follow-up over 2 decades later and the product we got was some thinly-disguised mobile game. It's not even something that I'm able to get mad at, if anything it's just a depressing game to think about how Square dropped the ball so hard.

I tip my like button to you for putting Overwatch 2 on the list for good reason... Despite having the BEST and Impressive visual animations and story. The game itself Blizzard paint the picture what it is. Is just horribly bad taste I cannot fathom Not only that, Diablo Immortal is the first newer Blizzard game after Overwatch (1). So the fact it follow-up to this made the game even more worst. At this point, right around Diablo IV is about to be released in June. Expect the expected more allegations being brought up yet again, more controversial and a lot of solid poor choices of mistake before the game launch, I guarantee that's the case (or not)

WWE 2K22 at least a dishonorable mention. 2K had 2 years (due to 21 being canned due to the vid virus pandemic) to make it decent only for it to be more of a broken mess since they want to be like EA and have their own Ultimate Team mode called My Faction where they keep updating that instead of fixing game breaking glitches. For instance if you try to look at stats in Universe Mode the game hard crashes. Some of the balancing sliders aren't recognized. Plus some moves that has wrestlers bouncing from the ropes such as the People's Elbow causes the game to lock up if they run towards the right side of the ring. The thing that really brings my blood to a boil is the garbage excuse for why the game lacks customization such as advanced entrance creation and less appearance options. They blamed said customizations for why 2K20 was bad even though 22 is a broken mess that has the nerve to put Logan Paul as part of a paid DLC pack along with Machine Gun Kelly. I've been playing 2K18 lately because it is a little more functional than the current game. Sorry for the long rant.

I would've put Nintendo Switch Sports on this list. It's the clearest look yet into Nintendo's attitude towards some of their franchises - just release it as stripped down as it can possibly be, and promise to add the missing content later. It's a trend that needs to die, and realistically, probably not happening soon.

This reminds me way too much of Hunt Down the Freeman, and I hate that. 4: I’m legit surprised this isn’t #1. If you want a game that epitomizes Blizzard’s fall from grace, this is it. I didn’t play it, but I’ve heard all the stories and know exactly how awful it is. 3: Don’t have much to say except it looks bad. How the hell did the Control devs make this? 2: I actually kinda wish I played this, especially since it’s being shut down soon. Must be the masochistic side of me, since this looks awful in every way. At least Platinum had Bayonetta 3 this year. 1: Wait never mind, this deserves the #1 spot. I really enjoyed the first game (back when people actually liked it), so this game literally replacing it and making it worse is basically a death sentence. Screw Blizzard.

I actually am looking forward to the best of the year list this time. Unlike previous years of the decade so far where we've had only one or two really memorable great games in my opinion, there was SO MANY to pick from! I love God of War Ragnarok, Bayonetta 3 finally came out, and Cult of the Lamb is a wonderfully strange surprise, not even to mention A Plague Tale 2, Kirby and The Forgotten Land, The Quarry, and... damn it, I'm gonna throw Cuphead's long awaited expansion in there too and say it counts!

Postal 3 was designed by a completely different company that was basically half-assing what work they did... And then they turned around and gave the rest of their work to an outsourcing company and said "Fuck it, we don't care". Postal 4 is gonna be buggy, cuz it's how Postal is. It's like Goat Simulator. You just know that game is full of bugs and bullshit, but... at the same time, it's hilarious.

the worst game for me is MWII. it's unfinished, SBMM, the UI is a bit wak, put more effort into the shop then the actual game it self, nerfs you during a match in real time, isn't really fun, and they screwed up the mute button.

Postal 4 is a return to form… but it’s also still Janky as All Hell which was always a Bug/Feature of this franchise since the second game’s release way back in 2003… (oh god it’s almost 20 Years Old???) 3 was a mess in more ways than just being a bad game that somehow got released… it’s a long story. … however on the bright side Postal Brain Damage, a spin off of the series released this year is a game made in the style of an Old School Throwback Shooter like DUSK, is actually a Really Good Game… it’s still tasteless and filled with questionable content but since the game is actually fun to play all that content kinda adds to the series’ absurd tone rather than feeling like Childish Taunts while playing a Buggy Mess of a Game.

ngl,It's kinda insulting to see Postal 4 above Shitty games like Waifu Impact and Predatory games like Chocobo GP and Kinda surprised not even the abysmal saints row reboot was here eiither. Sure it's not a game to be praised that much but hell me at least it got the charm right and felt like a passion project of its own LIke name a single Dev team that Brings ALL of the Postal dude voice actors and that includes the ones from the movie and gave the player the option to switch between them I don't think there is a team that really loves their games so much as RWC with their Postal Franchise. Also Callisto protocol deserves to be in the Disappointing Games of 2022 category.

An honorable mentions for me this year would be New Joe and Mac Caveman Ninja. A remake of a beloved classic game with like the barest of work put into it. You can literally beat in less than 20 minutes.

2016: I think Overwatch was your game of the year or really up there 2022: Overwatch 2 worst game of 2022 oh how the mighty have fallen though there was one more game that deserves mentioning. Fragrant Story. For the 3ds. It is a strategy RPG that uses a spinner as the rng mechanic. sounds cool on paper, but here is the kicker. it can be beaten in 10-20 minutes, 3 levels. The worst part is that they were passing this off as the *last* 3ds game so they released a collector's edition. TBH collectors editions are going out of control where some are going for the price of a new switch before scalpers. Imagine paying 30-60 dollars for a 10 minute game...

Did Gotham Knights live up to the hype? No. Is it as good as the Arkham games? No. Is it a 9 out of 10 game? No. Is it a bad game? Again, no. I feel like people are judging this game way too hard based on what they expected it or wanted it to be and refuse to give it a fair look at what it is. I've been enjoying my time with the game a lot. And what the hell do you mean the characters all feel the same? Did you even play the game at all? I'm forced to alter my playstyle and change how I approach situations every time I switch characters because they are very different and have more than enough unique qualities that anyone can see they're different with just a casual glance. How the hell did you come to the conclusion that they feel the same?
