The V8 Dodge Chargers in general are still one of the best value for money cars in general IMO. They’re reasonably roomy, fast and surprisingly practical. I’ve only driven the R/T and V6 (the OLD 3.5 with the 4 speed auto lol).

Great to have a private runway to play on for sure. I’m basically a Mopar guy but I do like that Mustang. I think Ford certainly got the exhaust note right on these cars. A fun time was had by all. I’m really old though and the burnouts obliterating the tires makes me cringe a little. I’m from the 60’s 70’s era and couldn’t afford to do long burn outs. Love to watch these videos though.👍👍🇨🇦

Large displacement OHV American v8s produce lots of low end power which is what you need to get off the line. The Shelby is DOHC and an entire liter smaller in displacement so it makes considerably less torque. The Shelby revs to around 7,500 rpm and makes power basically the whole way, while the Hellcat is hitting redline around 6,200 rpm.

Actually there is more to it, the bog Tim was experiencing means he needs to increase the rpm to power through the bog down instead he lowered the rpm to do a baby launch. You want your launch to be right on the line of spinning

@@douglasm3310 and why did it bog down on a 2300 rpm launch? Because smaller displacement DOHC v8s produce less torque my mans. You literally proved my point. A hellcat would absolutely blow the tires off at 2000 rpm. You can go online and look up dyno sheets yourself. A bone stock hellcat redeye is making over 600 lb/ft of torque at 2,500 rpm while a 2020 gt500 is making around 430 lb/ft at the same rpm. Thats why Tavarish got off the line first every time.
