Rub a thin layer of chap stick on the light lens and when it gets dirty you can wipe the carbon buildup right off without messing the lens up.
@billdrill22
@billdrill22 2 ай бұрын
I was doing that until I learned the carbon comes right off with distilled white vinegar. Now I just use that.

The original ramjet on the G19 works with all ammo weights. This version for the 17 has the 124gr and up stipulation. Thats really what keeps me from getting one. My 19 with the ramjet eats everything.
@billdrill22
@billdrill22 Ай бұрын
It will still shoot 115gr. It is optimized to run 124 and 147, but it will still run 115

Exactly, but he was using a comp to keep the carbon off the light. This one, not so much. That’s exactly why I mentioned that in the review. Hahaha. Glad you thought about it and mentioned it.

Interesting that you already had the soft version of the DPM recoil spring in the 17 before adding the Ramjet & Afterburner. I run the soft DPM spring in my 26 as that was the only option I believe. Always runs great with Federal HST 124 grn. 19C has soft DPM, but have standard strength DPMs on my non-ported 19 and 45.
@billdrill22
@billdrill22 2 ай бұрын
I run 147 grain full time now. If I need ammo and buy from a box store, I might be forced to buy 124, but that’s rare. So I’ve just always used the small spring for that reason. Great results too. I love the DPM systems guide rods.

Impressive shooting, you’re the first overview of this product on this platform that actually controls your muzzle rise with also virtually no vertical / horizontal shift on video. Reviews from various KZbinrs on the Radian Ramjet and Afterburner combo display poor grip (not to industry standard), irregular shooting stances, or significant movement (sway) with their recoil control. From this there’s much complaints on this product when it’s mainly subjective from the user’s own negligence or lack of skill in pistol shooting. Especially with the additional weight added on like a weapon light and dot, the perspective amounts to “save your money and buy more ammo” ; though, shooting more rounds doesn’t equate to building skill when they’re already failing to control recoil in the first place with consistent poor performance. From that alone good insight speaking on your experiences with this product. Happy to hear your overview, what brands and type of training and carry loads have you been mostly firing post 124/147gr 500rds+ for testing especially during the video! And thank you for the holster information in terms of slide length and weight factor with aftermarket slides like your Zev, again many KZbinrs fail to mention this subject. It’s refreshing to see someone who’ll utilize a “comp” to its fullest potential as clearly depicted by your recoil management / control in the first minute.

I really appreciate that. I’ve put a lot of time, and money, into getting proficient shooting so I’m very appreciative when someone tells me that they notice. Thank you The only ammo I’ve shot through the g17 ramjet is 147 storm troopers that I get from SpecTrain. That’s basically what I shoot year round now, as well as some factory 147 if I run out of the storm troopers and need something else to shoot.

Would you say the 17 with the ramjet is softer than the OZ9? I’d like to see Radian come out with the ramjet for the 17 Gen 3 so it can be tested on the standard OZ9.
@billdrill22
@billdrill22 12 күн бұрын
It definitely is softer, but is also pickier on ammo, at least mine is. It only runs 147 grain wheras the OZ9 eats anything. The gen 3 g17 ramjet is in the works I’ve heard.

@billdrill22

Possibly, but my buddies 45 with ramjet doesn’t shoot as soft as my 17 with ramjet. His 45 doesnt have the DPM systems guide rod and we probably weren’t shooting the same ammo. This gives me an idea on a new video.

@rhodycars6058
@rhodycars6058 2 ай бұрын
If you want as modular setup as possible it makes sense to buy the 45 and 49 or 19.5 and 47. That way you have in theory 4 different pistol configurations. The 47 and 17 do recoil slightly different when shot back to back but really its not a big difference.

@Edc-Guy
@Edc-Guy 2 ай бұрын
Not if you have a 19. But also depends on what you want. 19/47 also make a 45 or 49 so if you wanna just swap 2 slides around you got options of diff set ups. If don’t care about that, 17 is definitely classic and grip frame has longer dust cover / accessory rail.

Do you think this guy actually walks around with his arms in front of him like that?🤔... If he does then that would look really suspiciously odd,like you are hiding something😐.... The point here is that he is practicing all wrong... What you do Not want to do while EDC is walking around sticking out looking odd and suspicious... You do Not want to attract attention... Practice in drawing like you are Not looking for any excuse at any moment to draw on Anyone... Dont stick out like a sore thumb,be normal like everyone else 👍😎

But I also don’t walk when I practice draws and shooting.

@@billdrill22 Okie Dokie 👍... My only point... Practice your responce (drawing) to every day life,real life situtations mindset. Practicing your range draw is Only that,standing there facing your target with hands in font of your appendix carry is for the range which is what you are actually practicing & training to do if that is all you are doing and that is ok... Real life situtations... You may be standing with your hands in your pockets,maybe your arms crossed over your chest or even leaning against something or sitting... You may be standing talking to someone when from your left or right a bad situation arises that may require you to instantly draw your weapon and react to it... You may even be walking and have to do a 180° and need to react quickly... Range play and practice drawing is fun👍... Practicing for reacting & drawing for real life situtations is a different world of preparedness,mindset and trainng skill.... That was my only point in my original comment is all 👍😎.
