there some HARDWARE CHANGES to the 3rd batch of radiomaster t16s (got mine just a few days ago hallsensor version) the protective film on the touch screen doesn't have a grid pattern on it that so many thought to be the touch screen pattern, there's a larger louder speaker installed in the back cover not in the back of the grid in front so two halves are now connected by two cables, probably important info for anybody opening the radio for the first time and the project box is replaced with a simple flat plastic cover and you get extra screen protector in the box.

@@graywoulf no grid pattern at all and no speaker is not in jr bay its somewhere in the back right side corner, there was always a designated place for a speaker there. I'm not sure but I think only the review samples and maybe the first batch of radios had a small speaker in the front

The problem is as follows We've been trying to bind our transmitter and receiver but have been unsuccessful so far. The module that has to be bound isn't visible. The specifications are as follows: Transmitter : Radiomaster TX16S (16 channel) Receiver : Radiomaster R88 (8 channel)

For pinches, the new Jumper T16 Pro V2 gimbals have an adjustment screw that can tilt the gimbals left or right depending on your finger lengths.

For the screen, imo (and I've got a tx16s) the touchscreen will be super nice. I'm already sorta finding myself pressing the screen to try do stuff like widgets lol. Also, if you go to system > hardware > analog you can test the screen and I can confirm that it's both accurate and sensitive enough.

@@gautamkrishna7421 I'm still learning this TX. I did find a bug, maybe you can see if yours does the same. In system/hardware/debug if I debug "switches" first I can see all switches work properly. But if I debug "analogs" (testing the screen) and THEN go back to "switches" I find that all switches work except SB. Once I select "down" on SB it freezes. All other switches continue to work but SB stays frozen in the down position. I have to do a power reset to get it to start working again. I looked on OpenTX for any open issues like this but I didn't see one.

The channel order seems to depend on the setup of your multiprotocol module. Mine is flashed with the AETR version, so I had to map it in that order to get it to operate properly. I also had to swap some channels in the output.

One thing puzzles me about the 5-in-1 supporting FrSky/FlySky etc. and R9 - there's only one antenna. Are they really pushing a 900mhz signal out of a 2.4ghz wavelength antenna for R9?

I think you still need the R9 module. The firmware on the radio supports R9.. not replace the module. Not sure, just my assumption lol.

@WrongWay FPV I think you're right about it having module support not it having it already internally. I heard the 5-in-1 was 1 more than the 4-in-1 because it did R9, from someone who doesn't own one (yet) as they were reading specs.

Might be easier to use a strap for pinchers, take that weight off your arms and make it more comfortable. I’d like one by I’m used to mode one, tried using a mode 2 radio for a while and just couldn’t get the feel for it, so I changed it to mode 1, it was a spektrum DX6e by the way.

I don't think they will, but can you check and see if 26650 sized cells will fit in the battery compartment please? Or measure the depth of the battery compartment? Needs to be 26mm. Radiomaster website says it's only 25mm though.

had a touchscreen on my Graupner radio and found it to be nothing special at all. ended up just using the buttons for most things except for turning the output on and off. not a very important feature to me.

But, as far as I have been looking for, I have not seen any review using the Radiomaster (or even Jumper T16 ) with 50cc or bigger size gassers airplanes. And that is a real shame, because both companies maybe are missing a huge amount of money. Radiomaster and Jumper should also aim, face up and shake strongly the big and more stabilshed radio companies in that niche, in my humble opinion. Greetings from south of Brazil.

In my experience larger scale pilots like to stick to kit they know and have used for a long time. Until this radio has a little more time under it's belt I wouldn't use it on my most expensive models either... Once I have that confidence then I would happily move up, especially if I was using the bay for something like Crossfire..

I have a couple of questions. 1) Can the telemetry function of the TX16s be used with QGroundControl installed on a PixHawk-4 Flight Controller? 2) Can parameters such as PID values be changed in flight, using the TX16s telemetry? 1) I've not tried to forward telemetry to an external device here so not sure. 2) it depends on the system. Some radio links are bi directional and allow for things to be set. It usually needs a LUA script on the radio to do it.. Best wishes for the project

I bought the t16 pro v2 a few weeks ago but fortunately because they are not in stock I was able to change the order for the t18, waiting another month. I'll look forward for a comparison between this tx16s and the t18. They seem practically the same except for the cheaper price and the uarts in this one. I hope the t18 has that metal roll button, it seems nice to the touch. Maybe the t18/t16 pro are more robust and made of better plastic...

Hello. I like to watch your videos because they are very informative and someone who is not native English is slow and clear enough to understand them. I have a question about Radiomaster. How can I lock the throttle channel with a switch so that it is only released when a switch (e.g. SF) has been activated. The copter has no Betaflight and is linked via a multi-protocol module and has no arm / disarm function.

too late, purchased already yesterday the "all the godness version" except the tbs 8% BG Coupon pArts8 -worked for me and is a nice 10,40$ discount on the 130$ What receiver are good to use for cause radiomaster had no offer .. flysky ? They also should have offered a real case or added a grip to the current foam box which is simply half the way gone. And I miss someone being able to find the sliders you can use as gimbal ... tiny bits and pieces about 5 € or so that will later force me to buy the next version. And pretty interesting that Jumper was banned all over europe from July 2019 while Radiomaster is offered a lot lot more. Great video (series) !

I have two flying things (a plane and a drone) on which I use a Radiolink R8EF receiver. Wanting to pair the receiver to the radio system, I couldn't find Radiolink under the model list. I did however see a youtube video with someone pairing the two and he DID have Radiolink on the list. Any idea ? THANKS!

There is usually another connection wire from the ESC in addition to the normal one you'd find. Plug that into a spare channel on the reciever and set that channel up with a switch... Best of luck

One more question: When flying a model bound to the internal module, is the external module completely switched off/ no voltage? And vice versa? My plan is to use a Jeti TU2 module as external module. This has no own antenna. Plan is to connect to existing antenna, but only possible if only one module is switched on at a time.

Sorry about that, you've missed a lot in the last 8 years. The hobby has benefited from a lot of interest in the 'multirotor' and 'fpv' areas and we are all reaping the benefits. The kit is better, cheaper and more reliable than ever. The DX8 is a nice radio but most of the modern stuff like Ardupilot, INAV, Betaflight and others all work with stuff like FrSky, RadioMaster and Jumper now.. @@Painless360 Well, the Matek F722-SE AIO should arrive tomorrow, at only £4 more than the Omnibus F4 it was a no brainer. Overkill for my DJI Flame Wheel but I can use it to get up to speed then put it in something a bit more serious later. Waiting for the Radiomaster TX16S with 'Masterfire' starter kit to come back into stock, and mulling over the various merits of a Bixler or a Volantex Ranger. Lockdown has a lot to answer for but with all this material on your channel I will make less of those expensive mistakes I made when I first started out with a Ripmax Futaba M series, frequency pennants, and a second hand Gentle Lady.

I've just bought Ar630 as3x I've seen on KZbin some guy binded safe rx and it went into safe mode all surfaces moved when plane moves but mine dosent move anything I've heard first time bind must be on spektrum tx how can I get around this can't afford to buy spektrum tx just to energise rx safe mode

One thing I didn't like with my T16 was the roller, it seemed to have some... sloppiness, when switching directions, is the best way to put it. I put some tape around the metal part of the roller to give it some more thickness. Does the radiomaster have the same issue? I noticed it uses a very similar mechanism with its metal roller.

I am new to OpenTX and the Radiomaster, in fact the Radiomaster should arrive today. I have 4 new unused FrSky V8FR receivers, NOT the mk ii verions. I have seen it reported that some OpenTX radios like Teranis cannot bind to this now unavailable receiver. Can the Radiomaster bind to it. If not, would it bind if the rf fine tuning is used? many thanks for the best videos on these topics.

It might be a good TX, but i have found no way to bind all my Radiolink R12DSM RX with it. HoTT and FrSky was no problem, but Radiolink no way and also there is nothing to choose in the menue. Maybe it will work in the future...... ?!

What kind of cable (3,5 mm jack stereo or mono) were you using to connect the radio's together in the master/slave test that you did? Just asking because some people noted it did not always work on a Jumper T16 as master, while connected to a X9D+ as slave. It seems also related to the cable used and the version of OpenTX, but not always.

Nice video. The Radiomaster TX 16S works with Hitec receivers, is it compatible with the Hitec HTS-SS Blue Telemetry system?

@Painless360 - Thank you for this great video. However i still have a few questions. I am a Spektrum user and find this radio interesting. 1) Is the 2,4 Ghz DSMX range the same compared to a DX9 transmitter (the one i have now)? 2) Is Spektrum telemetry supported and able to be shown on the TX16S display? I cant find anything on the net about this. 3) I have heard that some would not use this TX for big expensive planes/helis - why not? I it not as good and other brands when it comes to range and stuff like that? It seems to that TX16S is at least as good as my Spektrum DX9 when it comes to build quality and materials. My DX9 is plastic all the way and has an extra antenna (diversity) in the handle - the TX16S has not. I hope you or someone else can comment on this - and especially signal quality and range is important to me if i should switch to a Radiomaster TX16S. THANKS !

1) Check out the video in the playlists the DSM power is 100mW. Depends on what power your existing radio is.. 2) Last time I tried it, it worked. See the Wiki for latest details... 3) The radio is still very new so for many pilots they need some time to develop the level of trust in the radio and technology to trust it to an expensive model. It'll be worth a watch of my videos in the playlist for this radio, best of luck!

What telemetry recievers will you be using with the tX16? Can we use the new frsky access receivers and flash back to ACCST?

If the Rx will support v1.x or v2.1 of ACCST then yes.. I'm using lots of X series here and also like the Jumper RX too..

Hi Lee, can I use Futaba Fasst receiver with this radio? I have Frsky - Fasst receiver that unable to bind with this radio.
