I've been quite busy the past few weeks, but I'm back. My goal is to keep up with 1 review every saturday, so the wednesday videos may or may not happen. Still, I hope you enjoy! It's good to be back.

It's funny how many times they've remade this gun recently, but like the mp40 it's one of those solid designs that never quite becomes obsolete...until it gets to MW3. Damn.

The memory of the mp5 from cod 4 is the only reason I ever use this gun.

My prefered setup on the MP5 is extended mags and range + steady aim, its a win! The hipfire range with this setup is AMAZING!

An MP5/Rapid Fire with Extreme Conditioning Pro, Blastshield (to run through betties/claymores), and Dead Silence Pro is an amazing class. You move so fast, and so silently, that the enemy team won't notice you in time to pull their heads out of their minimap!

For some reason I like the MP5 with the HAMR scope but I only use the red dot sight on it and I seem to do better with it. The red dot resembles more of MW2 style, maybe that's why I like it.

When I DO use the MP5 I stick to range and rapid fire as I can somehow deal with the kick(I'm going for 1k kills with all SMGs). In the end my favorite gun in the entire game is still the P90.

if u use the hamr scope red dot, it eliminates muzzle flash, so if that bothers you, you don't have to use silencer.

I use it with focus abd a silencer.the mp5 also seems to have very good hipfire and s reliable.but I mostly use it because I like the feel of the gun.

Here's what I think of a high fire rate... Recoil-wise, I don't like low rates of fire because rather than have a fast fire rate and steady recoil, the gun jumps around with each shot fired.

to me, this is the best way to do a stealth build with the MP5 MP5: 2 attachment, rapid fire and silencer perks: Blind Eye (Flame Shield up) Assassin and I forgot the 3rd this, in my opinion, is the best way to play with the MP5, I remember having alot of fun killing everyone in Hardcore search&destroy

Sure, these might be some good ideas, but COD is based as closely on reality as possible. The MP5 fires at 930 rpm in real life, UMP fires 780 RPM, the P90 fires 880 RPM, the PM9 I'm not completely sure about, and the MP7 fires at a 1005 (If we are speaking about the MP7A1) The UMP fires the smallest round of all of these smgs (.45 ACP) which would make no sense for it to have high penetration. The UMP has a 32 round mag and the MP7 has a 40 rounder to start, why reduce to 20 and 25?

with all do respect amish, i think the main disadvantage for an SMG is bad damage at range. they are mostly meant for close quarters.

I guess the PM9 is quite powerfull, but it's firerate is only 90 bullets higher than the pp90m1 which can be aimed down the sights way easier and has a magzagine capacitity which is 16 bullets larger. Also the range is better.

How I would Balance SMG's (no haters) *MP7= 35-15 DMG (lazer like accuracy with above average RPM is OP, but when bad DMG is mixed in, it's okay) *PP90M1= 30-17 DMG (PM-9 has worse range, but now better DMG) *P90= 35-20 DMG (MP5 and UMP45 will live) I know a lot of immature children will say, "WTF, that's terrible balancing", well it's just my opinion. I'm not forcing you to agree with me.

range = stopping power kills 1 less bullet mid range so does the ump 45 when equip ed with that proficiency

@PhonicLion mp5k is the short version of the mp5....the k in mp5k means kurz in german and that means short in english

@doubletrouble8v Going off of feeling the KSG has a tighter pellet spread then the SPAS, So at range the KSG might serve you better. The spas has the most consistent 1-hit kill weapon for the shotguns. Up close the SPAS feels looser then the KSG, it comes down to Range (KSG) or Damage (SPAS) and no matter what anyone tells you Damage is better then Range. Also extended mags really is your best attachment even if you don't get more pellets, or the silencer that's about it.

Love the review. It's so weird, most of the other SMGs are better, but I actually LIKE using the MP5. It's a shame since most people try to use SMGs like ARs (coughMP7cough), and most people just don't use the MP5 because it plays...you know, like an actual SMG, lol...

The MP5K with FMJ was my favorite gun in MW2, but in MW3 i dont like the MP5. So i rock the PP90M1 with Range and RDS ;)

PM9 is my second favourite SMG after the P90, don't underestimate it

@MCalcapwn IMO it's not OP, it's just very good across the board. Up close, it kills slower than most SMGs with rapid fire but faster than most ARs; at range, it kills slower than most ARs but faster than most SMGs. It's kind of inbetween, like the FAD. Very good in any situation, but not the best, so you'll be flexible but still liable to lose to someone with a better gun for the situation you're in.

@kingaj0321 You only use the red dot part of the HAMR sight, as that sight is higher up than the normal red dot sight, you escape muzzleflash + recoil. Really, try it with range, you cant go wrong.

Actually I think Dev. should reduce the recoil of the MP5. The recoil of the MP5 should be lower than the the recoil of P90.

To me, MP5 is almost an assault rifle. I like it in both Cod4 and mw3. But in Battlefield play4free it`s an overpowered weapon.

@MCalcapwn Actually, the recoil is considerable enough for it to be problematic in gunfights (always always have trouble with that long hallway on Hardhat perpendicular to the tube). Can't consider it OP because the ACR still has less recoil and has more damage. Even the ACR can only be considered borderline along with the T95. FMG9 is the only OP weapon in the game. My two cents though so what can ya do :/

I think you should try stalker on this gun more than sitrep because it give you an excelent mobility and in his pro version you have time to avoird traps...for the proficiency I agree with you on range, but I prefer stability rather than kick, if you master the burst fire it can be kick ass (ahah) and I play a lot with the gun to say so... the only way to surclass the p90 with the mp5 is to use stalker, range, and stability. quickdraw can be good for very agressive run and gun playstyle...

Something about the HAMR scope. You seem to ADS faster when the ACOG part of the scope is active, while the red dot portion is slightly slower (like looking down an ACOG scope would USUALLY be). Anything in the game files to confirm this, or am I just being paranoid?

id do it like this: *MP7= 35-17, therefor it will be 3-6 shot kill, not 3-7, which is totally AWEFUL imo. *PP90M1= lower firerate to 950 rpm, magazine side to 32 rounds. *P90= remains the same, nothing wrong with that gun imo *MP5= 49-20 dmg, range somewhere between the p90 and ump45, very slightly lower recoil, retains firerate since the patch at about 880 rpm *UMP45= remains the same, since the patch its perfectly balanced

Still got mixed feelings on the MP5 buff. On the plus side, I appear to be about an even match for MP7 guys. Downside is the gun is even worse at range than it was before, and I now need kick for any semblance of accuracy. But then, this IS the same group that "nerfed" the FMG9 by accidentally increasing the fire rate, so maybe it was opposite day when they did the patches.

@jamesO4E123 I actually don't like the idea of lots of two hit kill weapon. Only a few gun should be able to make a two-shoot kill. For example now the AK's and the CM's max damage is 49, I would be OK if they give 50 damage instead of 49, but I don't think the MP5 should be a two hit kill weapon (instead maybe a range bonus would be nice.)
