If this were a melody it would definitely be Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.... and David is in a certain sense the Freddy Mercury of the railways. It all seems right: we are in Bohemia and the line we are building is truly a masterpiece.... I traveled this line in 2003.... 20 years ago... a lifetime ago to go to Prague with school. The line had one track... very slow and there were still old Skodas on it... the Prague station as well as the one in Ceskè Budejovice recall the Austro-Hungarian taste and the glories of the past. Today Ceske Drahy is bringing the Czech lines back to that glories with modern and fast lines.... a fleet of blue and light blue Railjets that get lost among the Bohemian hills.... The Czech Republic has a lot of railways... this one is beautiful as is Prague... and don't forget Ceske Budejovice with its square and the nearby Cesky Krumlov... If you come back it's very beautiful.

Thanks for the great video! I'm amazed by how modern the whole infrastructure looks! Altough, I believe the exit from Praha is more spectacular on the other side, as you can get a glimpse of the city centre. May I suggest to try and film Praha to Dresden? Much romantic line along the river

Upgraded speed lines are fine but that one-track slow vintage route from Sevetin to Budweis just gorgeous, dont know how you think as a train driver.

I use R17 or S9 every few weeks and as much as I love trains the northern part of the route begs for an upgrade to at least 120Km/h. Those sections limited to 80 or 90 degrade the travel time of the faster R17 to the level of the bus 406.

@@nagymarosznik To je samozřejmě pravda, pak je to rychlejší, ale současně také platí, že pokud člověk musí na Hlavním nádraží pokračovat do metra, tak se výhoda rychlíku sníží už jen na jednotky minut, což klidně může autobus ukrojit v Benešově z cesty na nádraží. A pokud bydlí někdo za Benešovem, tak se ten přestup ani často nevyplatí. Zrychlením tratě by se z S9, R17 a R49 staly mnohem zajímavější spoje, ne teda že by teď jezdily prázdné. To je důležité, protože D3 časem zrychlí silniční dopravu v tom směru a železnice by na to měla být připravená.

@@firstlast1932 Ano, v současné době se připravuje *RT Velké Popovice* na rychlost 200 km/h, prověřují se aktuálně varianty vedení. Bohužel rychlost příprav je taková že se pravděpodobně do roku 2035 po nové RT nesvezeme. Ale ono je to tak nějak jak s tou D3...

@@nagymarosznik To je výborná zpráva (neironicky), kterou ale kazí to datum, které se navíc jistě ještě posune. Naopak ŘSD se do toho v posledních letech docela opřelo a středočeskou D3 zatím plánují na rok 2029. Zejména S9 a Sp na Říčany by pak využily i případné zrychlení té současné trati, které by bylo spolu s uvolněnou kapacitou zajímavé i pro nákladní dopravce ... teda kdyby to pro ně byl víc zajímavý směr, což momentálně...

The line was not modernized in the 1970s, but only electrified. Namely in the section Prague - Benešov. The rest of the route in the 1980s.

Track originally goes to Dolní Kralovice. But then vodní nádrž Švihov was built, so they have to demolish the little town and the last section of the track.
