32nd Street crossing CSX track one in Anderson, IN.
For anyone wanting to skip the pictures and get right to the video action, that starts at 4:30. I may remake this video in the near future and spread the photos out more. I didn't realize how long I went with them all bunched up together. Sorry about that.
This video is a little over an hour long. I took several pictures and as usual have them added to the beginning of the video. I couldn't resist taking a picture of a nearby fire hydrant that looks ancient. I also caught a coyote which was a little surprising considering the location.
As you'll notice the tracks at this crossing cut diagonally across the road.A collision with a vehicle here would either be a rear-end collision or a head-on collision.
This area is very close to the South Anderson Yard so a lot of trains stop here picking up and dropping off cars. That is partially the reason so many people run the lights to beat the train. They also do it because they have a better view and simply go for it. It's amazing there have been so few collisions here.
