So can I just put out a BUYERS BEWARE notice on the VR shooter "Onward". Last year the game received a major patch to allow cross-play with some VR hardware that Facebook are working on. Which included some pretty significant graphical DOWNGRADES to the PC version. For the curious, there are side-by-side comparisons available on KZbin. I do not feel qualified to say whether this was good or bad for the game and can only vaguely speculate whether such moves are good or bad for VR in general. But I can unequivocally tell you that it enraged a lot of customers. Who saw a drastic change in graphical quality overnight. One only need browse the steam reviews from last year to see the extent of the anger. I need to warn my viewers that the game probably does NOT look like the above video anymore. This isn't representative of what came after version 1.8. Please seek other videos before making any purchasing decisions. Thank you.
