i find it mildy amusing there are people out there that hate the g29 pedals and remove the rubber bushing and replace it with a spring, and then with higher end pedals they are removing the springs and replacing with rubber. i get it though, a spring and a rubber would give the perfect braking feel.
@damiensarmoury3014 Жыл бұрын
The difference being The rubber that comes in the pedals for the g29 the rubber is almost equivalent to just sticking a rubber eraser in it and the others got a set hardness to allow for a more real squish like brakes would sorta feel like It’s the same with thrustmasters T3PA conical mod I’d rather get rid of the mod and replace the spring with that set rubber brake mod

Modding the brake pedal has been long overdue on my TLCMs. Only mod I've done is install the Ricmotech heel and toe spacer, which unfortunately doesn't work with the upright spacers the pedals come with, so my pedals are at a slightly undesirable angle. I've gotten used to it, though.

Why doesn't the clutch pedal have a spring to create the feeling of a bite point?
@Steve30x2 жыл бұрын
Did you recalibrate the pedals with the Thrustmaster calibration tool when you made the changes. It's possible with both elastomers installed that the pedals just needed to be recalibrated. According to Thrustmaster you need to download the calibration tool and recalibrate the pedals when you change the springs so you need to recalibrate the pedals when you add these elastomers.

How could 2 elastomers instead of 1 produce the same brake signal % but at less pedal force? That's impossible because it's a load cell measuring force (unless you changed calibration settings). I think what you may have meant to say is the 2 elastomers produce the same brake signal % but at less pedal travel (less travel, not less force).

My experience is completely opposite of yours. As I find having both elastomers to be the stiffest setting. Every time I see a video with these pedals, I recommend 3drap brake mod. The pedals, when they were released, were the best you could get for the price. But default springs are crap. This or similar mods really transforms the pedals, it's loadcell, and the way loadcells are meant to be used. I don't know why Thrustmaster didn't include this simple cheap elastomer.

@@mikelshwede I know I'm replying 2 week later but this is "the price" of haveing 30-40 tabs open. Try finding elastomer somewhere else. They are cheap and you can always cut it. You can also try skateboard bushings (I hope they are called that). If I go to my region's ebay and search for elastomer I find a couple of results I can DIY for very cheap price. 3drap offering is just a convenient way to get proper elastomer without doubting it will work. But if I was making them, I would do it a little differently, but the feel of progressiveness is there and you can get into proper muscle memory territory with their product. What I would do differently: I would make a stack of 3 different "hardness" so it would remove initial spring feeling (that would make you better feel when you press ~20% -> when just a little tap is needed) and you could mix 2 + spring for a vast possible range. That would be ideal for T-LCM. Nowadays, however, I would recommend Fanatec over T-LCM even though I hate them as a company.

@@vfragos I would recommend it. However, it always comes down to subjective feeling and perception, so you will only know for yourself when you try it. The cost is in the middle of all the mods existing, so it is justifiable from that side. When you look at the reviews of other mods, they all swear it is the best and when you receive it, you get disappointed, as I was with Apex, so you never know... It also depends how strong are your legs, do you drive with shoes or without, is the pedal base fixed with screws or not, so all this influences the subjective feeling.
